The Dunham Disconnect: NYC Media Love for Lena Isn’t Shared by Rest of America

Lena Dunham was recently crowned “America’s new queen of comedy” in a recent cover story in Vogue.

Her Girls character, Hannah Horvath, says she is “the voice of her generation.” 

And on the heels of her Saturday Night Live hosting gig last week, Vulture declared the 27-year-old as “The Host of Her Generation.” 

The term “bubble” has been written about in this space before. It is defined as a world where folks in TV news live in, a world where 10-18 hours a day is consumed by what is going on in the world, what the hot stories are, and how to best present these stories to an audience. Oftentimes however, bubble stories don’t match what audiences tuned in for. But bubble stories play nicely to people that matter in the industry places like New York (because that’s where most media companies and publications are headquartered), so the feedback on the content is invariably positive, although the thing that matters most—ratings, the size of an audience showing interest—may not reflect that sentiment. 

Need proof? Just check out the hysterical coverage of any snowstorm that hits New York. Six inches is headed towards Manhattan? Better get the extra-obnoxious breaking news banner out! Six inches in Philadelphia? Kansas City? An ice storm in Dallas? Oklahoma City? Yawn. Doesn’t affect us. 

Which brings us back to the bubble phenomenon around Ms. Dunham… 

Is she a relative success? Absolutely. She has her own HBO show and is the toast of Manhattan media. She and her boyfriend got to hang at the White House with the President and First Lady last summer. She’s like a daughter to Judd Apatow. She has 1.45 million Twitter followers. She got multi-millions in an advance book deal. And she isn’t riding to stardom just because she’s the next pretty face who can also act like Julia Roberts or Scarlett Johansson or Jennifer Lawrence before her. 

But the next queen of comedy? 

The voice of a generation?

The host of a generation? 

The numbers tell a much different story. 

For starters, her HBO show is one of the lowest rated on the network, averaging about 800,000 viewers per first-run episode. That number sounds pretty good until comparing it to other HBO shows such as True Detective (3.1 million), the late Sex and the City (3.5 million) or Game of Thrones (4.97 million). But if you read review after review after (glowing) review, the only conclusion one could come to was Dunham was single-handedly keeping the network from extinction. 

As for the voice/host of a generation, it’s a nice sentiment until seeing that said generation isn’t exactly flocking to their televisions to see her host the likes of Saturday Night Live. In that capacity last week, Dunham—despite getting naked again for the 101st time since entering the national stage two years ago—helped SNL register its second-lowest audience of the season. For context, the Dunham-hosted show was even 20 percent lower than the show hosted by the less-hyped Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) the week prior. This result comes despite as big a promotional push as you’ll see for a non-NBC employee leading up to the show in the form of featured appearances on Late Night with Seth Myers and The Today Show. And none of it mattered. 

Why? 

Because, in my opinion, Lena Dunham is who she is: Largely unfunny, profoundly annoying, extremely self-important. And don’t even think about asking her any obvious questions during a press conference…she’s proven to be more thin-skinned than Alec Baldwin. Just ask reporter Tim Molloy of The Wrap, who politely asked why there was so much nudity on Girls, particularly by its lead character. 

Here was Dunham’s response:

“Yeah. It’s because it’s a realistic expression of what it’s like to be alive, I think, and I totally get it. If you are not into me, that’s your problem,” she said.

That’s when Judd Apatow—who was also at this press conference, jumped in and got personal. 

“Do you have a girlfriend?” he asked.

“Sure,” replied Molloy. 

Apatow: “Does she like you?”

Molloy: “Yeah.”

Apatow: “Let’s see how she likes you when you quote that with your question and just write the whole question… and tell me how it goes tonight.”
 
Whatever that means. 

What Dunham and Apatow can’t seem to grasp is that Mr. Molloy isn’t alone in his perspective. You can’t meet anyone who knows Dunham’s work who doesn’t ask the same question about the nudity aspect. The simple theory here is Lena doesn’t have anything resembling depth in the acting or comedy department, so she resorts to shock value. Audiences find the act tired, repetitive and self-absorbed, so they tune out. 

There are bubble stories that play very well in New York. A little snow hits, the “national” media (mostly based in Manhattan) lets the rest of the country know about the horror they’re about to endure. 

Same goes for the blizzard of coverage around the dusting of snow that is Lena Dunham’s talent. 

The media may be very much into her…

But to almost everyone else on the planet without a byline—those outside the bubble—it hasn’t exactly been love at first, or 101st, sight.

The Truth Behind Michelle Obama's Water Campaign

When it comes to far-Left liberal celebrities getting together with POTUS' wife to campaign for anything, always make sure you read the fine print:

Michelle Obama wants you to drink more water, at least one more glass a day. Frankly, I think it's great. Sure, the science behind some of her claims is somewhere between iffy and debatable. If you're not dehydrated, drinking more water won't give you more energy or cure your headaches, as her office vaguely claims. But it might take up belly space that otherwise would have gone to grape soda, Red Bull or some other sugary concoction.

Team Michelle won't admit this is the real agenda, insisting this is just a healthy, helpful reminder from the first lady. "Water is so basic," she explained from Watertown, Wisc., "and because it is so plentiful, sometimes we just forget about it amid all the ads we watch on television and all the messages we receive every day about what to eat and drink," she said. "The truth is, water just gets drowned out."

Except that's not really true. According to Beverage Tracker (you don't subscribe?), in 1998, soda was our No. 1 drink of choice, with Americans consuming 54 gallons of the stuff every year. Today, it's down to 44 gallons, while water consumption has hit 58 gallons and rising.

Although on one level it may seem as if Obama is breaking the corporate grip on our drinking habits by celebrating the original no-frills beverage, it's more like she's pulling a Ferris Bueller: jumping in front of a parade in progress and acting as if it were for her all along. There's nothing more mainstream than going with the flow.

We tend to talk about culture as if it's something produced solely by obvious outlets like Hollywood or publishing. But the trend toward bottled water (which accounts for 21 of those 58 gallons a year Americans consume) is every bit as real a cultural phenomenon as Miley Cyrus' twerking — even more so. Whenever we talk about ancient Greek or Egyptian culture we spend an awful lot of time talking about what they drank and ate, we study their pots and pans and we even write the occasional ode to their urns. There was no popular demand to see Cyrus behave like a bonobo in heat. There's a very real demand to drink pure water instead of other beverages.

We crossed a milestone in 2006 when, according to the U.S. Census, Americans started drinking more water than beer. Susan McWilliams, a brilliant (liberal) political scientist, lamented this turning point in American culture. "There's a reason that beer commercials tend to include lots of people hanging out in a room together," she writes, "and bottled water commercials tend to include lone individuals climbing things and running around by themselves, usually on a beach at sunrise — even though they are not being chased."

Bottled water is the beverage for an atomized generation that listens to music in a private headphone world.

Beer is social. "Most people drink beer to lower social inhibitions," McWilliams notes, "to make it easier to have conversations with other people, to assuage loneliness, to grease the wheels for engaging in what my students euphemistically call 'relationships' — in other words, to give a form and excuse for social life. You don't drink beer to improve your private, individual health."

This last point is one I can confirm after years of empirical testing.

Indeed, while every brand of bottled water has its own unique sales pitch, they all share one appeal: It's not common water.

Which raises one irony. Lots of socially engaged young people have started to rebel against bottled water on the grounds that all of that plastic is allegedly wasteful and deleterious to the environment. Some will even note that bottled water is an indictment of the public water system, the same way FedEx and UPS reflect poorly on the Post Office. In other words, drinking Fiji water is a kind of lifestyle luxury most associated with elite culture — like eating kale salads and having a home gym. It is of a piece with Michael Bloomberg's notorious efforts to make poor people live the way rich people think they should.

That doesn't make Obama's efforts misguided, but it's worth pointing out that even — or perhaps especially — liberals have a noblesse oblige all their own.

Race to the Bottom: Ed Schultz Forgets Fellow Dems, Fellow MSNBC Hosts When Playing the Race Card on Syria

Well, you knew it was coming. 

The race card being played from the bottom of the deck… 

Even on Syria. 

Leading this charge is former MSNBC primetime-8:00 PM-host-turned-MSNBC-weekend-host (a lonely timeslot he claimed he volunteered for)-turned-early-evening-weekday-at-5:00 PM-host Ed Schultz.
Schultz contends that GOP opposition of Syrian strikes is rooted not in: 

(A) Uncertainly around a post-Assad Syria, where the opposition may somehow be worse than the current regime

(B) Possible repercussions via Iran or Hezbollah to Israel or U.S. embassies and troops in the region, or even through terror attacks here in the U.S.

(C) Making the growing refugee crisis even more grave

(D) A strong majority of the American people opposed to any military action

(E) All of the above 

Instead, Ed says Republicans oppose the President because of “hatred of our first black President.” Via Schultz’s MSNBC show on Thursday:

“I really believe that everything that we have said on this show are reasonable, patriotic reasons to be against another war, another strike, another act of war––and that’s what it is––but hatred of our first black president is not.”

If that’s the case, then there are A LOT of racists running around the country these days. First and foremost is the man who replaced him at 8:00 PM on MSNBC, Chris Hayes. After all, he vehemently opposes any action in Syria. Is he—the host with racial quotas for guests—also a racist? 

How about Alan Grayson (D-FL), easily the most outspoken liberal in Congress? He wants no part of Syria, either. Even Joe Manchin (D-WV) said, “I cannot support the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s resolution and will be working with my colleagues and the administration to develop other options.”

That just screams racism, doesn’t it? 

The nomadic Schultz has sat in three time slots in the past year alone. He was supposed to be a savior for MSNBC’s failing 5:00 PM spot. Instead, because of 5th grade comments like this, he’s getting pummeled by Fox in his time slot of the month—and by CNN as well. 

But it’s really no surprise.

In fact, it’s shocking it took this long.

Where’s the Outrage From Al Sharpton, Barack Obama and Liberal Celebrities on Chris Lane?

Considering the horrid circumstances along with the alleged reason they did it, I think it's a fair question:

On Wednesday morning, the Fox and Friends crew asked where Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and President Barack Obama were regarding the shooting of Chris Lane—the Australian ballplayer who was gunned down in Oklahoma recently by three teens where were “bored”—as “every time there’s something like this that happens, they always weigh in.”

“Right now, we’re going to go to a live shot of Jesse Jackson and Al Shaprton,” Brian Kilmeade said, and then staged-freezed for a shot that never appeared. 

“Oh, wait, we don’t have it,” said guest host Anna Kooiman. “Why don’t we have it? Because they haven’t come forward and said anything. Are they going to? Will they? And should they?”

“We heard a lot from them during the Trayvon Martin situation,” Steve Doocy said. “Allen West has tweeted, quote, ‘We were bored and decided to kill somebody. Three black teens shoot white jogger. Who will President of the United States identify with this time?’ Excellent point. I wonder when celebrities are going to put on ‘I Am Chris Lane’ t-shirts?”

“Like Jamie Foxx?” Kilmeade offered.

“You think that stuff is going to happen?” Doocy asked. “Or is there once again, as we have talked about many times, a double standard regarding things like this?”

This is what white liberals want blacks and conservatives to accept as "the new normal"--your child performing homosexual acts on other humans and dressing in a manner normally associated with the opposite sex. Of course, Magic Johnson, notorious adulterer, former NBA star and successful businessman, comes out as "proud" that his son is behaving in this unGodly manner. Magic Johnson showed us all a long time ago that he had no moral foundation, what when he "came out" and publicly admitted to having the HIV virus after whoring himself around behind his wife Cookie's back for years during his professional playing days. Then too, Johnson would stand to lose his entire financial empire, if he were to stand up against the Godless, powerful, white, liberal lobby and actually come down against his "gay" son's immoral behavior while still loving his son from a distance. In an America that continues to lose its moral fabric as the Godless, white, social liberal agenda slowly takes over the country, that's not a risk worth taking:

Magic Johnson's 20-year-old son hit the Sunset Strip, hand in hand with his boyfriend ... and his parents couldn't be happier for their kid.

Earvin Johnson III -- aka EJ -- is one of Magic's 3 kids.  The Lakers legend tells TMZ, "Cookie and I love EJ and support him in every way."  Magic goes on, "We're very proud of him."

The feeling is mutual ... 'cause EJ told us he's been "hoping and praying" for his dad's team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, ever since Magic and his business partners took over the franchise.

He's also a huge Lakers fan ... obviously.

EJ -- who's a student at NYU -- has a close relationship with his parents. Back in August, Magic tweeted, "Thx to my son EJ for hosting me at NYU. Look forward to taking him to dinner tonight in the city."

Dirty, Promiscuous Singer Kesha Comes Out As 'Bisexual' To Help 'Bullied' Little Brother's Stuttering Problem

Oh yeah, this news will put a stop to her little brother's "bullying" problem:

Kesha is opening up about her personal preferences and love life. The 25-year-old singer never was one to bite her tongue and has confessed that she kissed girls and even had sex with a ghost, but now she admits that she doesn't only love men.

The "Die Young" singer  opened up about many jaw dropping secrets that made you even second guess her metal health. When the singer told Conan in an interview that she went, "to the bone zone with a ghost," people either thought she was crazy or just smart at staying in the headlines. In an interview with "Seventeen" magazine the singer through out her trash bag gear and touched up on her softer side, posing on the cover with a kitten rocking bright clothing. The singer revealed that she's attracted to an array of people, "I don't love just men," she says. "I love people. It's not about a gender. It's just about the spirit that exudes from that other person you're with."

The singer doesn't let downers rain on her parade and uses all types of comments and critics as motivation as she stays on top of the charts, "I used it to motivate me then, and I still do," Ke$ha tells Seventeen. "I remember every person who told me I couldn't do something or that I was ugly or too fat. I have a 's*** list' - people from my past who have been soulless and judgmental. Even after I got through my awkward phase, got my braces off, and figured out how to dress my body, people in the music business were like, 'You're never going to make it.' I see them now and I'm like, 'Ha!' That's one of the reasons I named my record Warrior. You can be a victim and let that eat your soul, or you can say, 'You're going on my list and I'm going to prove you wrong!'"

Overcoming her bullies in the past the singer doesn't tolerate any type and is a strong advocate for the LGBT community and her younger sibling, "I'm all about standing up to gay/lesbian/transgender bullying, but it's also about my little brother," she explains. "He's 13 and he gets made fun of because he has a stutter. I just have zero tolerance for people making fun of others."

Judge Orders Woman to Hold 'Idiot' Sign For Driving Car on Sidewalk

One of the issues many people have with voters is their sheer stupidity. Too often (esp. in the case of liberals) elections are won and lost on the basis of idiot voters who know little to nothing about issues and vote according to skin color or what they hear out of the mouths of white, liberal hosts on MSNBC or because their favorite liberal celebrity endorsed said politician (as in the case of former drug dealer Jay-Z and his wife/lounge singer Beyonce who've long declared their undying love for the Obama's which certainly caught on with their fans).

Who knows if Shena Hardin is a black liberal or much less even votes. But considering the sheer stupidity of repeatedly driving on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus, the phenomenal choice of a judge ordering her to hold an ‘idiot’ sign on the streets of Cleveland and the fact that Ms. Hardin seems to have learned nothing from her actions, all point to Ms. Hardin not only being a black liberal, but another poster child for the reason black people in America are in the dire state they're in:

The Cleveland Municipal Court judge who ordered a driver to hold an ‘idiot’ sign on the streets of Cleveland said the way the first part of the sentence was carried out was “unacceptable.”

Shena Hardin, 32, of Cleveland, stood at the corner of East 38th Street and Superior Avenue in Cleveland for an hour on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

The sign read, “Only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk to avoid the school bus.”

But on Tuesday, instead of holding the sign as Judge Pinkey Carr ordered, Hardin left it propped against her as she smoked cigarettes and used her cell phone.

“For me it was just kind of a smack in the face,” said Judge Carr said of Hardin’s defiance.

Hardin was caught on video driving on the sidewalk to pass a bus carrying special needs children. 
The portion of sidewalk she used to avoid the bus was the entrance to a day care.

When the bus driver noticed Hardin’s pattern along East 38th Street, he notified Cleveland Schools and had his cell phone camera rolling during one of her episodes.

Police set up a sting and cited her on Sept. 11.

Hardin originally pleaded not guilty to charges of not stopping for a school bus and reckless operation.

She later changed that to a no contest plea.

“I felt like she was making a mockery of it,” Judge Carr continued, saying she spoke with Hardin’s lawyer to emphasize that Hardin must hold the sign and refrain from smoking and texting on Wednesday. 

Judge Carr said she chose the unusual sentence based on several things, including Hardin’s lack of remorse.

“I think this would be very fitting for her.  And plus it was my first thought when I saw the story.  I said, ‘only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk,’” Judge Carr explained.

“I never imagined that it would turn into this,” said Judge Carr, commenting on the national attention the case has fetched.  “Because at the end of the day as far as punishment, yeah, I want to punish the offender, but yet, you know, it’s about the community, too.  I mean, she owes it to this community, she owes it to the children that were on that school bus, the parents, I mean it’s just a total disrespect, and I want to send a clear message that that’s not behavior that one should engage in.”

At least one person showed public support for Hardin.  Archie Berwick from 87.7 FM showed up to stand beside Hardin on Wednesday with a sign of his own.

Taped to his chest, Berwick’s sign said, “If she’s an idiot, then so am I.”

His message was that everyone makes mistakes.

Hardin’s license was suspended for six months and she must also pay a $250 fine.

Liberal Director Oliver Stone Rips President Obama: ‘Took A Bad Situation And … Made It Worse’

It's no secret that Hollywood is 90% liberal, a cesspool of actors, directors, agents, etc. that bow down to the lily-white, unGodly, far-Left agenda. So when a noted director, well-known for his liberal views and contempt for anything conservative, comes out swinging against a Democrat president...well you know you're in some trouble:

In his new book, outspoken liberal filmmaker Oliver Stone offers some harsh criticism for President Barack Obama.

The forthcoming book titled The Untold History of the United States airs Stone and historian Peter Kuznick‘s scorn for the president acting too much like his Republican predecessor George W. Bush.
Politico published several excerpts from the book which express disgust with the Republican Party and disappointment with the Democratic president and his party.

“The country Obama inherited was indeed in shambles, but Obama took a bad situation and, in certain ways, made it worse,” the authors continue, according to Politico. “Rather than repudiating the policies of Bush and his predecessors, Obama has perpetuated them.”

Stone and Kuznick lament that the president’s attempts at reforming and regulating Wall Street have largely failed in their progressive aims: “The biggest winner under Obama was Wall Street.”

According to Politico, the authors find little to celebrate in the president’s health care reforms: “Obama’s failure to articulate a progressive vision was also apparent in the fight over health reform, which was to have been his signature initiative…Obama’s health care reform effort, marked by the inability to even refute Republican charges of death panels, was so unpopular that it became an albatross around the necks of Democrats in the 2010 election.”

The authors also criticize the president’s handling of the war in Afghanistan: “When it finally came down to decision time, Obama didn’t have the courage or integrity of a post-Cuban Missile Crisis John F. Kennedy. He settled on a 30,000-troop increase, giving the military leaders almost everything they wanted and more than they expected.”

Stone also echoes something we’ve documented several times here and here — that President Obama and the Democrats have seemingly turned their backs on their promises to reverse Bush’s civil liberties encroachments: “Among the greatest disappointments to his followers was Obama’s refusal to roll back the expanding national security state that so egregiously encroached on American civil liberties.”

The authors quip: “Obama asserted presidential power in ways that must have made Dick Cheney jealous.”

White, Morally Bankrupt, Far-Left Actress Charlize Theron Adopts A Black Boy

When it comes to politics actress Charlize Theron is typical of Hollywood actors who suffer greatly from white guilt (i.e. white privilege) as they make millions from doing relatively easy labor. As her white guilt encompasses her, Theron pacify's it by being an openly liberal activist which means joining "women's rights" organizations, being an active member of PETA, playing gay roles, marching in pro-choice rallies, supporting radically leftist politicians like Barack Obama and of course, being an open supporter of "marriage equality". In fact, Theron was so adamant that gays in the U.S. be allowed to "marry" that she once famously declared that she wouldn't marry then-boyfriend Stuart Townsend until they do. And for her "BOLD!!!" stance, Theron was quickly given praise by the liberal press, not to mention a spot in the top hierarchy of the the rich, white, Hollywood, liberal elite that Barack Obama finds so endearing.

But apparently Theron wasn't done there as she's now taken on a role only a few have dared to go: getting with the latest Hollywood trend of white actresses adopting a black kid and then crying about it on TV. Forget that Theron is now single and will be a mother for the first time, it'll be another black kid being lucky enough to be picked and saved from the "evil" white man's world by a far-left liberal actress with no morals, but plenty of money and nannies to spare:

The actress, 36, "has adopted a child," her rep says in a statement to PEOPLE. "She is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson."

Jackson is the first child for the South African-born Theron, who recently starred in Young Adult. She won an Oscar for her role as a serial killer in 2003's Monster. 

No further details about her new addition were released.

Though Theron is surely thrilled about expanding her family, she has previously spoken out about not feeling the need to tie the knot. Marriage, she said last year, was "never something that was important [to me]."

Bono Smugly Declares ‘We Need More Aid’ And Only The ‘Brain-Dead’ Disagree

Great piece by Andrew Kirell over at Mediaite about what a smug a-hole that far-Left, super rich "humanitarian" Bono is. Amazing how many people worldwide fall this guy's claptrap:

The Daily Caller reports that Friday afternoon at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs Food and Global Agriculture (mouthful!) symposium, U2 singer and humanitarian Bono declared that even though “we are broke,” we need to increase foreign aid budgets. And to those who disagree? Well, Bono says you’re all “brain-dead, heart-dead ideologues or controversialists.”

Bono spoke to the crowd about Europe’s debt woes, conceding that “we’re broke.” He continued on to explain that during these tough economic times, when he goes busking for foreign aid in Western capital cities, “the word ‘aid’ sounds like an expletive. It’s like you brought a bad smell into the room.” But despite the resistance, Bono insists, “we need aid.”

“Of course we still need aid. Of course we do,” he declared. “Does anyone disagree? Anyone apart from brain-dead, heart-dead ideologues or professional controversialists? Come on. Every sensible person knows that.”

What smugness. 

It’s a common tactic to minimize the opposition by claiming that no sensible person could possibly disagree with you. (Hey, remember when President Obama said there was simply no disagreement that we need a government stimulus? And then this showed up.) Bono has mastered this tactic over the years.

Bono must believe that serious economists, scholars, and writers like Andrew Mwenda, Dambisa Moya, William Easterly, June Arunga, James Shikwati, Karol Boudreaux, and many others are all “brain-dead.”

It’s easy to claim everyone else is “heart-dead” when you believe you have millions of poor people on your side. But Bono is simply wrong about foreign aid.

We give billions in aid to oppressive regimes who predictably hide portions of the money in Swiss banks or spend it on lavish mansions and cars. Food aid gets stolen too. ABC News visited Kenya several years ago and met Kenyan farmers who said bags of food aid from their government never arrives. This is not surprising because many of the aid-recipient regimes are kleptocracies – that is, they thrive mainly on plundering from the citizens they govern.

Much aid is rewarded without regard for internal reforms, despite the fact that corruption, absence of private property protections, and lack of rule of law are some of the main reasons the developing world experiences crippling poverty. Dumping foreign aid on them has done nothing to liberalize those oppressive regimes and create the economic growth to lift the people out of poverty.

World Bank economic studies confirm that foreign aid actually does great harm because “higher aid levels erode the quality of governance.”

In the past 40 years, Western governments have given Africa more than half a trillion dollars in aid. Yet Africa is even poorer than it was before the money started rolling in. A study from the London School of Economics further confirms the failure of foreign aid. By reviewing the aid given to more than 95 countries, the study finds that ‘‘aid does not increase investment and growth, nor benefit the poor as measured by improvements in human development indicators, but it does increase the size of government.’’ Another comprehensive study by the IMF also found no relationship between aid and growth.

Foreign aid hasn’t accomplished its goals. Instead it has financed mostly authoritarian governments, whose destructive policies — trade protectionism, insurmountable licensing schemes, price and wage controls, nationalization of industries — have all been supported in some fashion by our foreign aid programs.

To say foreign aid is a failure is not to say that we, as individuals, should do nothing to help. There are wonderful charities that do actual on-the-ground work. Micro-finance organizations are another way to directly empower the impoverished.

But no, Bono, we do not need more government foreign aid. And it’s not “heart-dead” to think so.

Oscar nominee Julianne Moore has landed the starring role of Sarah Palin in HBO’s adaptation of the bestselling book Game Change.


Moore (Boogie Nights, Eagle Eye) will take the sure-to-be-buzzed-about role of the Alaska Governor and vice presidential nominee in the HBO film.


Game Change is directed by Jay Roach and written by Danny Strong, who previously teamed for HBO’s docudrama on the 2000 election drama, Recount. It’s based on the book by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin following John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.

Can't help but wonder how and why Moore got the part. Certainly not because she looks like Palin. I mean, did she secretly campaign for the part just so she could ridicule her? Or was she picked solely based on talent? Moore is an unabashed liberal and a huge fan of The One. Moore also lacks class and has little dignity in that she has no problem taking on risque roles that require her to appear nude or kiss other women. With Moore's far-Left views and this just being conservative-hating Hollywood, somehow I can't picture Palin getting a fair representation in this flick.

The 34-year-old actress and 34-year-old Burberry model are, “absolutely smitten.” “They loathe being apart and so are taking their romance to the next level,” a source told the Daily Mail. 

“Kate has been relatively free of work commitments since her split with Sam [Mendes] so she and Louis have managed to enjoy lots of time together…Kate hasn’t been this happy in a very long time.”

James Cameron Backs Out Of Debate With Climate Change Skeptics

It's funny that the same renowned politicians, celebrities and pundits who ascribe to climate change altar don't have wherewithal to explain the issue much less the guts to take on the so-called "deniers". Calling your opponents names is what they do when they don't have a pot to piss in:

“I want to call those deniers out into the street at high noon and shoot it out with those boneheads.” James Cameron on global warming skeptics in March.


In March of this year, famed director and amateur hole stuffer James Cameron threw down the green gauntlet, stating in an interview that he wanted to debate global warming skeptics in a most public way, the better to expose them for having their heads “deeply up” their, um, abysses.

Cameron doesn’t like global warming skeptics. Or the military. Or mining. Or, you know, Americans. So in the post-orgy afterglow following the success of everything-bashing Avatar, he was ready to mix it up. Right?

Alas, the gun-slinging was not to be. In lieu of the scheduled dust-up, this weekend Cameron opted to simply call skeptics “swine” and screen a documentary about his own heroic opposition to Brazilian electricity before jet-setting back to that carbon credit trader’s wet dream he calls a home.
