Drama With Blogger

As most of you already know, Blogger really sucks and that's why I havent posted in a while. When simple tasks such as posting a pic, creating a link or just signing in become as arduous as its been in the last week, it's time to start thinking about either switching blog hosts or just quitting blogging altogether. But I enjoy writing and I love being able to express my thoughts via this medium, yet its been extremely frustrating trying to post of late with all the drama that comes with trying to blog on Blogger.

I don't know yet what my next step will be here, but venting is always better than keeping things inside and I certainly dont want anyone thinking that I'm done with the blogging game. In the meantime look out for me in your comments box.

"Death Of A President" Gets US Distributor

This bit of news should raise the hopes of Leftist lunatics like Cindy Sheehan who fantasize about killing President Bush:

Newmarket has opted to buy the U.S. distribution rights to controversial drama Death of a President. Director Gabriel Range's movie looks at the fictional murder of President Bush on October 19, 2007. A pseudo-documentary format is used, with ficticious interview subjects narrating over news footage - some of which is fake, including the swearing-in of Dick Cheney as the next president. The story then moves on to the hunt for the assassin, as well as President Cheney's decision to use the murder to invade Syria and to expand the law enforcement powers under the contentious Patriot Act. No release date has been set, but Newmarket may be mulling a Fall 2006 release.

As usual liberals want to have it both ways. They'll cry, bitch and moan when a documentary is presented that sheds light into the Clinton administration playing a distinct role in the attacks on 9/11, yet say nothing when a group of British filmmakers create a flick that threatens the security of our President by eliciting fantasies of assassinating him.

I heard about this book on Malkin's site and I'm definitely going to make it my next read. It's a response to all the conspiracy nuts and Bush Derangement Syndrome sufferers who still spout lies that allude to the U.S. (i.e. President Bush and Karl Rove) being behind the attacks on 9/11. This book provides in-depth evidence (and a "healthy dose of common sense") that you can use when confronted by an insane liberal too caught up in their Bush-hatred to deal with hardcore facts.

Funny, but I don't recall any Democrats complaining when the totally inaccurate "Fahrenheit 9/11" came out. Should we just assume that corrections should only be made when they affect the Democrats' election chances?

For most Americans, the arrival of fall means the World Series or the beginning of the football season.

But here, in an election year, it's "issue-framing" time, when the parties furiously battle to position themselves on what they think will be the winning side in November.

So when Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld implied last week that Iraq war critics were as misguided as Neville Chamberlain when he dealt with Adolf Hitler 's demands, the Democrats were shocked, shocked at the comparison.

They called on President Bush to fire Rumsfeld. Then Senate Republicans quickly de-railed a Democratic move to force a floor vote on Rummy's tenure. The maneuvers forced the White House to dig in behind Rumsfeld, with spokesman Tony Snow saying Rumsfeld's going nowhere.

"It's not going to happen," Snow said. "Creating Don Rumsfeld as a bogeyman may make for good politics but would make for very lousy strategy at this time."

No surprise that the usual idiots on the far Left would be calling for Donald Rumsfeld ouster, but what's really sad is how the media has played right into their hands. For example, why no mention that Rumsfeld himself has asked President Bush to fire him like 3 different times? Then too, why is Rumsfeld role constantly be played for more than what it really is? Is it because they know that they have to deal with Bush and Cheney for another two years that the Left keeps going after Rumsfeld?

Of course it is.

The role of the Secretary of Defense is to implement the policy established by the President, not to set that policy. The Secretary advises, and the President decides. Furthermore, the Defense Secretary is more responsible for the political and international aspects of military decision, not personally responsible for strategic or tactical decisions. Those are ordered by the president, and implemented through the Joint Chiefs of Staff to the forces in field. Because Rumesfeld was only responsible for implementing policy, not for setting it, he is not responsible for any bad choices made.

And the choices made were implemented as best as the situation would allow, given the intelligence available at the time. He was also only responsible for using the intelligence gathered, not for acquiring it himself, so the failures in intelligence gathering were also not his fault. Rather, he was using what was available to do his job, put a good political face on the military decisions made by Bush. Since his only real job was political spin, and he managed to get a large portion of the world and the US to go along the effort, he accomplished that job to the best of his ability. This isn't to say that Rumsfeld doesn't deserve some blame (especially for his handling of the troops body armor issue some time back), but going after Rumsfeld is nothing but political pandering and for that alone, the Democrats should be ashamed of themselves.

Teenagers Not Using Condoms

Many teenagers and young adults fail to use condoms consistently,
regardless of whether they have sex with a serious or a "casual" partner, a new
study suggests.

Researchers found that among more than 1,300 15- to 21-year-olds, those
with casual sex partners had unprotected sex just as often as those in serious
relationships -- about 20 times over the previous three months, on
average.

Those who had casual sex were more likely to use condoms at least some of
the time, the study found. But because they had sex more often, they ended up
having unprotected intercourse just as frequently as their peers in steady
relationships.

The findings point up two different problems, according to the researchers.
"Unfortunately, this reveals that teens may overestimate the safety of using
condoms most of the time with a casual partner and underestimate the risk of
unprotected sex with a serious partner," lead study author Dr. Celia Lescano
said in a statement.

In a direct attack against conservatives, religion, abstinence education and basic common sense, liberals have waged a relentless war against teaching kids the simple fact that if you don’t have sex, you don’t get pregnant or get STDs. This despite the fact that we haven’t had anything close to the rates of single mothers, teenage pregnancies or STD infections before sex-ed was taught in schools. Because as far as liberals are concerned teenagers are going to have sex anyway, so just throw a condom at 'em and everything will be fine. Yet, for centuries, telling people to reserve sex for marriage worked. If they want proof, look back 100 years. Abstinence works every time it’s tried, too bad for today's teenagers (esp. those outside of red states) this bit of knowledge is being sacrificed for capital to fund Leftist propaganda and immorality.

WE'RE RELUCTANT to return to the subject of former CIA employee Valerie Plame because of our oft-stated belief that far too much attention and debate in Washington has been devoted to her story and that of her husband, former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, over the past three years. But all those who have opined on this affair ought to take note of the not-so-surprising disclosure that the primary source of the newspaper column in which Ms. Plame's cover as an agent was purportedly blown in 2003 was former deputy secretary of state Richard L. Armitage.

Mr. Armitage was one of the Bush administration officials who supported the invasion of Iraq only reluctantly. He was a political rival of the White House and Pentagon officials who championed the war and whom Mr. Wilson accused of twisting intelligence about Iraq and then plotting to destroy him. Unaware that Ms. Plame's identity was classified information, Mr. Armitage reportedly passed it along to columnist Robert D. Novak "in an offhand manner, virtually as gossip," according to a story this week by the Post's R. Jeffrey

Smith, who quoted a former colleague of Mr. Armitage.

It follows that one of the most sensational charges leveled against the Bush White House -- that it orchestrated the leak of Ms. Plame's identity to ruin her career and thus punish Mr. Wilson -- is untrue. The partisan clamor that followed the raising of that allegation by Mr. Wilson in the summer of 2003 led to the appointment of a special prosecutor, a costly and prolonged investigation, and the indictment of Vice President Cheney's chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, on charges of perjury. All of that might have been avoided had Mr. Armitage's identity been known three years ago.

The silence from the Left is deafening.

What Happened To The Male Teacher?

Thomas Dee, associate professor of economics at Swarthmore College and visiting scholar at Stanford University, has released a study that suggests that students learn better from a teacher of the same sex.

About 80% of teachers in America right now are female, and roughly the same percentage applies in Canada. I find that to be pretty alarming especially considering that while the teaching profession has always had more women than men, never would I have thought it be that one-sided.

Personally, I feel that a relatively equal balance of males and females should be represented in our schools. Plus, tho' the concept of "role models" starts at home, there is still a valid argument to be waged in favor of having them in schools as well; then too the importance of the innate understanding and empathy that exists between members of the same sex.

Of course, this is common sense, and God forbid, that should ever prevail in these "modern" times.

As we watch women's advocacy groups and liberals advocate the need for girls-only schools under the false banner that they help girls . . .

My biggest question is:

Why are men not entering the teaching profession any more?

And my other questions are:

What should we do to encourage men to enter? Should there be a hiring quota, similar to that in every other field which is disproportionately balanced against, say, women?

Or do we just stay silent and accept the liberal view that supports and caters to the feminization of boys?

Star Parker Slams Spike Lee's Katrina Documentary

In case you didn't know controversial director Spike Lee has a new documentary out on HBO covering Hurricane Katrina and the tremendous effects it had on the citizens and city of New Orleans. Of course, Spike. who has become well-known for his brand of racy rhetoric, coverage of touchy subjects and mixed messages within his films, is receiving a lot of critical acclaim for his 4-part documentary from the usual suspects on the Left, but noted columnist Star Parker has her own take on "When The Levees Broke" that's pretty different from what you've probably seen or read. (Hat tip: Booker Rising)

Says Ms. Parker:

Spike Lee took his cameras and crew to New Orleans to film a documentary about Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. The four-hour production, which aired on HBO, is, unfortunately, about as destructive as was the disaster it depicts.

At a time when we need light and understanding, Lee has delivered darkness, anger and hatred. Those who will be hurt the most by the distorted and untruthful picture that Lee has concocted are the poor blacks he purports to want to help.

It's clear that Lee did not go to Louisiana in search of truth. He went to Louisiana to carefully construct a documentary that would support the conclusion he had already reached. That conclusion: poor blacks suffered and died as result of the indifference of a detached and racist Bush administration in general and President Bush in particular.

The film commits egregious journalistic sins of commission and omission, carefully selecting and editing footage to indict Bush, including only commentators who support the conclusions that Lee had already reached, and selectively omitting reams of information relevant to the complex truth of what actually happened.

Since Lee already knew the truth, he didn't have much need to examine material such as "A Failure of Initiative," Congress' investigation into Katrina, which shows failure and breakdown at all levels of government _ local, state and federal. It also was of little interest to Lee that primary responsibility for disaster preparation and management is at the level of local and state government, not federal.

But New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin comes off in the production as just one cool dude. He shows up at regular intervals over the four-hour production, talking New Orleans jive and being one straightforward sincere guy who was trying to do his job.

No mention is made of the hurricane simulations and emergency evacuation plans that he totally ignored. No reference is made to the famous picture of the parking lot filled with flooded school buses that Nagin chose not to use to evacuate residents in poor areas.

Central to the Katrina story is the failure of the levees. Indeed, Lee's film is called "When the Levees Broke."

But who is responsible for ignoring the warnings over the years that the levees protecting New Orleans were inadequate? Bush? Of course not.

It was Louisiana's congressional delegation that was responsible to ensure that their constituents' interests were being represented and that funds were being appropriated to fix sub-standard levees. But not a single Louisiana senator or congressman is ever mentioned or appears in "When the Levees Broke."

Katherine Harris Didn't Say Anything Wrong

Since liberalism relies so much on the idea that individualism outweighs moral responsibility, it's no surprise that the Left would get a bit upset about comments made by former Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris in a religious journal recently:

Separation of church and state is "a lie we have been told," Harris said in the interview, published Thursday, saying separating religion and politics is "wrong because God is the one who chooses our rulers."

"If you're not electing Christians, then in essence you are going to legislate sin," Harris said.

Her comments drew criticism, including some from fellow Republicans who called them offensive and not representative of the party.

Granted, the Republican party should never be held up as some sort of authority on God, morals or Christianity, it's still a bit surprising that some members of the GOP would side with the hypocritical libs and join in on the Harris hatefest. Then too, proving that the old adage of "what have you done for me lately" still holds true, the GOP sold out on Harris awhile ago. Yet, proving that once again that they're nothing but a gang of mental midgets who feast in double standards, is it any wonder that the Left stayed silent when DNC leader Howard Dean compared Harris to Josef Stalin not too long ago?

Dean hasn't apologized and neither should Katherine Harris.

We live in a society that trivializes sex every chance it gets, especially in Hollywood where the likes of Paris Hilton, celebrity groupies and "Girls Gone Wild" are celebrated to such a degree that the concept of a star on the level of Alicia Keys choosing abstinence comes off as being completely foreign. So while many won't find this bit of news to be significant, in a society where young women are often pressured to grow up too fast and role models are far and few, Keys' choice is not only wise, but it shouldn't be taken for granted.

Whatever Howard Dean Says . . . Do The Exact Opposite

Surprise, surprise. Howard Dean Says Lieberman Should Dump Independent Bid.

WASHINGTON - The Democratic Party's boss says it's time for Joe to go.

Adding his voice to a chorus of other leaders, Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean said Sunday that Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman should drop his independent bid against Ned Lamont, the anti-war candidate who knocked him off in last week's primary.

"I know how hard this is for Joe, and he is a good person, but the truth is, I lost one of these races, and I got behind my party's nominee, and I think that is what you have to do if you want to help this country," Dean said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

"The way to help this country is to limit Republican power," he said.

Let's face it, if this doesn't motivate the Lieberman campaign, nothing will. After all, listening to Howard Dean talk politics is getting to be almost as silly as listening to Al Gore discuss global warming.

Usually when you read a sports column you expect to read about sports, but lately popular NY Daily News columnist Mike Lupica has been using his articles (esp. in his weekly "Shooting From The Lip" column) to give readers political insights from his obviouslywarped Left-leaning brain:

Those are the words from a "sports journalist" whose ego is so huge that he knows that he can exploit his expert opinion on sports to impart political commentary for the mostly young, white male sports nuts who read his work.

"Unabomber" Items To Be Sold Online

A federal judge has ordered personal items seized in 1996 from Unabomber Theodore Kaczynski's Montana cabin to be sold online.

U.S. District Judge Garland Burrell Jr. ruled Thursday that items belonging to Kaczynski - including books, tools, clothing and two checkbooks - should be sold at a "reasonably advertised Internet auction."

The auction will not include 100 items the government considers to be bomb-making materials, such as writings that contain diagrams and "recipes" for bombs.

U.S. Marshals Service will contract the sale with an Internet auctioneer who will bear the cost and receive no more than 10 percent of the proceeds.

The remaining revenues from the sale will be applied to the $15 million in restitution that Burrell ordered Kaczynski to pay his victims.

Kaczynski, 64, is serving a life sentence with no possibility of parole for a bombing spree that lasted from 1978 to 1995. The blasts from homemade bombs killed three people and injured 23.

Kaczynski was arrested at his cabin in Lincoln, Mont., in April 1996.
