ARTFORD, Conn. --Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean delivered a strong endorsement of Ned Lamont Friday, even as a new poll shows the Greenwich businessman trailing U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman by 17 points with less than three weeks until Election Day.

"No one was going to stand up over the Iraq policy until Ned stood up and then the people stood up because Ned was a great leader," Dean said at a rally for Lamont and other Democratic candidates at a downtown sports bar. "We need Ned Lamont."

Dean's appearance came as a new poll showed Lieberman leading Greenwich businessman Lamont 52 percent to 35 percent among likely voters. Lieberman is running as an independent after Lamont rode a wave of anti-war sentiment to an Aug. 8 Democratic primary victory.

According to the poll, released Friday by Quinnipiac University, Republican Alan Schlesinger trailed with 6 percent and 7 percent were undecided. A similar poll released Sept. 28 showed Lieberman with a 10-point lead.

What with the election less than 3 weeks away, it seems as if the Left may be getting a bit concerned about their outrageous backing of One-Issue-Ned Lamont. Mind you, I dont even like Joe Lieberman (except for when he showed some guts by being one of the few Dems to tell Clinton that it's his wife's job to give him blowjobs, not interns). But any person who garners so much hate from the Left, gets nothing but support from me.

British Airways is trying to fire an employee for having the gall to wear a cross around her neck while working.

Check out this latest example of Christian persecution:

British Airways check-in worker Nadia Eweida faces further disciplinary action for daring to speaking out about her fight to wear her cross, it emerged.

The devout Christian was hauled before senior managers to hear her appeal against BA's dress code banning crosses to work. But during the meeting Miss Eweida was warned that talking publicly about her case also breached company rules.

BA's employment book states workers must seek permisson from the company before speaking about the airline.

The move brought further condemnation over BA's behaviour and escalated the row over the right of Christians to express their belief by wearing crosses to work.

Her union, the TGWU, insisted Miss Eweida had a right to speak out and was blowing the whistle on an injustice, while her MP condemned any attempt to intimidate her.

Miss Eweida, 55, of Twickenham, south-west London, is a Coptic Christian with an Egyptian background.

She was forced to take unpaid leave after refusing to remove the tiny cross on her necklace nearly four weeks ago. She is waiting to hear whether her appeal has been successful. If BA uphold their ruling she is planning to sue the airline for religious discrimination because the airline allows Muslims and Sikhs to wear headscarves, turbans and bangles.

Her case, revealed by the Daily Mail, attracted widespread attention and the backing of a string of MPs and Ministers including Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly, Northern Ireland Secretary Peter Hain, and Conservative former Minister Ann Widdecombe.

But BA said speaking to newspapers and appearing on television without permission was banned.

A friend of Miss Eweida said: "Nadia has been warned by BA that by publicising her case to the British people she was in breach of company rules.

"It was implied that there could be adverse consequences. But she believes that she has done nothing wrong and that God is more important than British Airways' company policy.

"She says that Jesus was not a wimp and she does not intend to be a wimp."

Only White Liberals Are Allowed To Make Racist Remarks

Surely you recall the big brouhaha liberals made about Republican George Allen's use of the word "macaca" not too long ago, after all everyone from Slate to Kos to YouTube was in on the hysteria, making Allen out to be some sort of KKK member (of course he's not tho', wouldn't want to take that esteemed title away from Democratic senator Robert Byrd). And with all the fuss created and engineered by the Left, Allen was forced to go on the defensive. Time and time again, Allen felt compelled to explain that his mocking of S.R. Sidarth, a young Indian-American staff member for his Democratic opponent, as "macaca," or monkey, was an unintentional gaffe. "It was a mistake. I made a mistake," he told a reporter from NBC affiliate one day. Hours later, he told ABC, "It was a mistake, I was wrong." On Fox News's Sean Hannity show, he also echoed, "It was a mistake." Yet, for all his apologies concerning the "macaca" comment, Allen's name still continues to be dragged in the mud

But let a white liberal utter a racist comment and from the Left there's a nary a word, much less any media insanity or at least an angry quote from Al Sharpton.

(CBS/AP) Maryland Congressman Steny Hoyer has apologized for a poor choice of words during a political rally with Democratic Senate candidate Ben Cardin on Sunday in Upper Marlboro.

As reported by MSNBC Tuesday, Hoyer criticized Cardin's Republican opponent Michael Steele for what Hoyer called-- quote -- "a career of slavishly supporting the Republican Party."

Steele is black, and yesterday called the description racist and "the height of arrogance."

"It goes to just the sheer craziness of some in the Democratic Party who think they can use racist terms and infer things about me just because I'm an African American Republican," Steele said, reports The Washington Post.

The head of the National Black Church Initiative, the Reverend Anthony Evans, also condemned the remark.

Hoyer is the Number Two Democrat in the House of Representatives. In a statement yesterday, he said he should not have used the description. He added that if Steele did take offense, none was intended.

Wow. An apology. And that's all a white liberal needs to do when he makes a "poor choice of words", even a racist one. No biggie, what with Michael Steele being a Republican and all, who cares, right? After all, Republicans are very, very, very bad people who care about nothing but themselves, while white liberals are very, very, very good people who care about all of us, even us Blacks.

And shoot, with the elections coming up, if you're Black and lucky enough maybe you'll spot a white liberal visiting your church and maybe he'll sit in the front row, maybe he'll even smile and wave at you or maybe if you're really, really lucky like rapper Lil' Kim was recently, he might even be willing to smile and pose with you.

With a message/plan/creed that doesn't go much beyond "I Hate Bush", it's just like a liberal to pull out the old "they'll probably find bin laden right before the elections" line:

As some of my previous posts make clear, I don't hold with major 9/11-was-an-inside-job conspiracy theories, but I think the possibility that they will "find" Osama before the election is real. Deceptions of that kind are par for the course for these champions of moral clarity. Plus, even more importantly, it is logistically feasible.

But here's the thing. Their credibility is now so damaged that it might backfire--especially if Democrats were to be smart about it. Candidates should confine themselves to solemn head shaking and comments like "All I can say is that this is very convenient timing." Bloggers will take care of the rest.

Come to think about it, the possibility of backfire is so real that if, just by chance, just by accident, they were to locate bin Laden in the next couple of weeks they might be well advised to keep him on ice until after the election.

But wait, didn't liberals make the same claims about Bush "finding Bin laden" right before the 2004 elections? Yet, despite not being able to pull off that great stunt, Bush won the presidency anyway. Of course anyone desperate enough to borrow a line from the likes of Crazy Teresa Heinz needs to have his head examined at the very least.

The Massachusetts Democrat, who lost to President Bush in 2004, said it is a basic principle that "Americans give people a second chance. And if you learn something and prove you've learned something, maybe even more so. Now, I don't know what I'm going to do yet. We'll make that decision down the road."

Ronald Reagan twice unsuccessfully sought the GOP nomination for president before he got it and won two elections for the White House.

"John McCain, their leading candidate didn't he get kicked around South Carolina by the same president because he wasn't patriotic enough as a prisoner of war? He's now their leading candidate for president," Kerry said of the Republican Party. "Richard Nixon seemed to get kicked around pretty badly both running for president and governor, turned around and came back and got elected president.

Yeah, let the idiot run again just so we can get a good show by watching Teresa Heinz humiliate herself again. Plus with the Left having gotten control of Kerry to the point where even he's serving up his own brand of Bush-hate, it'd be great to see Kerry fall flat on his face just like he did in 2004 after he thought he had the presidency in the bag.

Oh Yeah: Harry Reid Stole Money; May Have Mob Ties

WASHINGTON -- Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid is awaiting word from the Senate ethics committee on whether he failed to properly account for a business deal that allowed him to collect a $1.1 million windfall on land he hadn't personally owned for three years.

Reid sought the opinion after The Associated Press reported Wednesday that the senator didn't disclose to Congress that he first sold the land to a friend's company back in 2001 and took an ownership stake in the company. He didn't collect the seven-figure payout until the company sold the land again in 2004 to others.

Reid reported the 2004 transaction as a personal sale, never disclosing his earlier sale or the stake in the company.

The Nevada Democrat's deal was engineered by Jay Brown, a longtime friend and former casino lawyer whose name surfaced in a major political bribery trial this summer and in other prior organized crime investigations. Brown has never been charged with wrongdoing, except for a 1981 federal securities complaint that was settled out of court.

Ethics experts told AP that Reid's inaccurate accounting of the deal to Congress appeared to violate Senate ethics rules and raised other issues concerning taxes and potential gifts.

Of course, failure to report a $1.1 million-dollar windfall and possible ties with a mob guy can't be nearly as important as a sex scandal involving young pages, but we still shouldn't throw stones.

Liberal Exploitation Of Mark Foley Will Hurt Democrats

OK, so the hypocritical Democrats (i.e. liberals) want to use the Mark Foley "scandal" to bumrush their way into winning both the House and the Senate come November? Well, guess what: it ain't gonna' happen because the American voter isn't that stupid and as the 2004 election proved, most people don't base their votes on what the Michael Moore/MoveOn/Howard Dean/Kos-run Left thinks. Really, they don't.

Yet, liberals and the Leftist media are having a field day with the Foley scandal, apparently too dumb to notice that most people just don't care (indeed, a CBS/NYTimes poll found that 72 percent of voters said that the Foley scandal will make "no difference" in how they vote). But when you're too caught up in your hatred for Bush and anything associated with the GOP, who cares what the rest of the world thinks. Of course too, the hypocritical moonbats have conveniently forgotten about the sex scandals involving Gerry Studds, who was exonerated for doing the same thing Foley did back in the day, (Studds claimed it was "consensual", as most homosexual pedophiles like to say) and Mel Reynolds who was later pardoned by Bill Clinton as well as Barney Frank whose "punishment" was being re-elected 5 times after it was found that he ran a prostitution ring out of his house.

Disagree all you want with the GOP and its policies, but at least you know where the Republicans stand. Therefore, the idea that a party would need to exploit a sex scandal for its political gain while undermining the intelligence of the American voter shows you why we're losing and they're winning.

In a time which sees North Korea "testing" nuclear weapons, Pakistan cutting a deal with Al Qaeda, troops still fighting and dying in Iraq, ever-changing gas prices, school violence back in the spotlight, rising taxes and jihadists always making news, the idiot liberals and their brethren in the media want you to concentrate on Foley: a huge mistake for Democrats and a bonafide win for the GOP.

Oh Yeah: 810,000 More Jobs

Of course, because there's no such thing as liberal bias in the media, you're probably gettting your fill of gas prices being down, the economy doing well and the unemployment rate getting lower and lower as much as you're having Mark Foley being shoved down your throat.

Columbus Day tends to generate nostalgia for frontier, and the time when the possibilities seemed open for all on the American landmass. Some news that came out last Friday however underscores the fact that America remains a frontier, at least as far as opportunity is concerned. That news was contained in the monthly employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The September jobs report at first seemed disappointing. Only 51,000 payroll jobs were created, compared to predictions of 120,000. Still, unemployment was down to 4.6% — a drop. And two surprises were in the report. The document also announced that an extra 62,000 jobs were created in the prior two months, bringing the total number of new payroll jobs to 113,000.

More important, tucked away on a back page, was the preliminary announcement that our economy had created 810,000 more payroll jobs over the period April 2005 to March 2006 than had been thought. This seemingly minor news contradicts the jobless recovery stories, shows why wages and compensation haven't been growing faster, and explains the some of the difference between the household and payroll employment surveys.

"How The Democrats Would Rule The Hill"

IN the final weeks of this bruising campaign, the debate, in many ways, comes down to this: What would happen if the Democrats win?

Republicans
warn, ever more urgently, that a Democratic takeover of Congress would mean wrenching ideological change: higher taxes; big new spending; maybe even impeachment. Democrats insist they have no intention of an abrupt lurch to the left, offering instead a relatively modest agenda and the less-than-revolutionary rallying cry of “more oversight!”

In fact, a Democratic majority in the House or the Senate — or both — would immediately change Washington in fundamental ways after four years of one-party Republican rule. That majority seemed less theoretical last week as Republican woes, most recently the scandal over Mark Foley and Congressional pages, added up. Even so, it would operate under some formidable constraints, political and institutional.

A Democratic Congress would have sweeping new powers to set the agenda and focus the political debate — through the hearings it calls, the witnesses it summons and the kind of legislation it brings to the floor. “More oversight” could be more revolutionary than it sounds, with the rise of lawmakers like Representative Henry A. Waxman, the hard-charging California Democrat who would take over the House Government Reform Committee; in an interview, he promised a review into “waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayers’ money” related to Iraq, Hurricane Katrina and homeland security.

A Democratic majority in the Senate could also stymie, or at least slow, the conservative reconstruction of the Supreme Court, assuming another vacancy occurs in the next two years, and force President Bush to seek more bipartisanship on all judicial nominees.

This is nothing but fantasizing on the part of the NYTimes. First of all, even if the Democrats were somehow able to win both the House and Senate it would only be with a slight majority, which would make any sort of vote for impeachment look mighty weak and mighty liberal. Secondly, I just dont believe that the Foley scandal will have that much of an impact on voters because we're not talking about a Presidential election here and it's the Left that's trying to push Foley down the throats of voters more concerned about what's going on with more important matters such as Iraq, illegal immigration and gas prices than a pervert from Florida who's already resigned. Lastly, the idea that a Democratic majority would cut down on spending is just ludicrous when you consider that the only cuts in spending during the Clinton administration was on farm subsidies, defense and welfare.

Once again, the Times just doesn't get it.

RIP Tamara Dobson aka Cleopatra Jones

BALTIMORE -— Tamara Dobson, the stunning Amazonian model-turned-actress who portrayed a strong female role as Cleopatra Jones in two so-called blaxploitation films, has died.

Dobson, 59, died Monday of complications from pneumonia and multiple sclerosis at the Keswick Multi-Care Center, where she had lived for the past two years, her publicist said.

Dobson was born in Baltimore and graduated from Western High School. She began her modeling career in fashion shows at the Maryland Institute College of Art and then moved to New York. She appeared in many magazines, including Vogue and Essence, and television commercials for Faberge, Chanel and Revlon.

As a huge fan of the 70s blaxploitation films, "Cleopatra Jones" was one of my favorite flicks, having first hearing about her when Ladybug from Digable Planets shouted her out on the group's hit single "Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)". And while she suffered in the limelight that was Pam Grier (as Foxy Brown) at the time, Dobson still represented back in the day with her tall figure, hella' sexy looks, style and fashion acumen (as proven by the fact that she was one of the first Black supermodels).

As Cleopatra Jones, Dobson played a street-smart, special agent on a quest to wipe drugs and drug dealers off the face of the planet. Simply put, Cleopatra Jones had it goin' on: an intelligent Black woman who was loyal to her man, could make any man turn his head and kick your ass at the same time if you ever disrespected her. Her main nemesis was a drug kingpin played by Shelley Winters (yeah, that Shelley Winters) who messes with Cleo's man as well as her rehab house. This was a really cool film from the Blaxploitation genre and the fact that it had a higher budget than most films from that era, made it much easier to watch than the other well-known flicks (including the legendary "Shaft"). Word has it that Beyonce's character "Foxy Cleopatra" in Austin Powers "Goldmember", was based on Cleopatra Jones.

GOP Should've Outed Mark Foley Last Year

This scandal could've and should've just been about that disgusting creep Mark Foley, but it sounds like instead of reporting him to the proper authorities immediately upon finding out that he was a pedophile, the GOP was more concerned about protecting one of their own. And if that's the case they deserve all the heat just waiting to fall on them.

Thomas Reynolds, head of the House Republican election effort, said Saturday he told Speaker Dennis Hastert months ago about concerns that a fellow GOP lawmaker had sent inappropriate messages to a teenage boy. Hastert's office said aides referred the matter to the proper authorities last fall but they were only told the messages were "over-friendly."

Reynolds, R-N.Y., was told about e-mails sent by Rep. Mark Foley and is now defending himself from Democratic accusations that he did too little. Foley, R-Fla., resigned Friday after ABC News questioned him about the e-mails to a former congressional page and about sexually suggestive instant messages to other pages.

"The improper communications between Congressman Mark Foley and former House Congressional pages is unacceptable and abhorrent. It is an obscene breach of trust," Hastert, R-Ill., Majority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Majority Whip Roy Blunt, R-Mo., said in a written statement Saturday evening. "His immediate resignation must now be followed by the full weight of the criminal justice system."

The House leaders said it is their duty to ensure House pages are safe. They said they are creating a toll-free hot line for pages and their families to call to confidentially report any incidents, and will consider adopting new rules on communications between lawmakers and pages.

Of course, if you believe in karma like I do (and it find it ironic that this brouhaha involves a senator from Florida), somehow, someway you hope that Katherine Harris (whom the GOP has recently sold out) can benefit from all of this.

Sen. Tom Harkin: Unhinged Liberal Of The Week

This week Iowa Democrat Senator Tom Harkin had the nerve to say that he understands Hugo Chavez's "Bush as devil" comments at the UN. After all, as he claims:

"We tend to forget that a few days after 9-1-1 thousands, thousands of Iranians marched in a candlelight procession in Teheran in support of the United States. Every Muslim country was basically on our side. Just think, in five years, President Bush has squandered all that." Harkin says the U.S. has put billions of dollars into the Iraq war, when it could be helping poor countries with things like clean water, medical aid and education."

Interesting while watching this video, seeing all the Islamic leaders who immediately raised the conspiracy spectre, accusing and implicating world Zionism in the bombing of the WTC.

Of course, it's taken as the home grown Lefties in America to go so far as to accuse President and his evil mastermind-in-charge Karl Rove of arranging the bombing, detonating adjacent buildings and presenting "holograms" of jets flying into the towers.

Just as Senator Harkin has a fantasy of the Islamic world in tears, holding candlelight vigils for America, until the hateful Bush ruined everything, Then too the Left is unashamed in their belief that the Islamists were totally innocent, while it was the Evil Satan in the White House who perpetrated this horror against his own people.

Keith Olbermann Is No Different Than Madonna: Desperate

Keith Olbermann calls FOX's Chris Wallace a "monkey" and of course, since he's not a Republican he can get away with it:

Wallace - who was greeted by former president Bill Clinton with a finger wagging lecture worth of "I did not have sex with that woman" that was broadcast over the weekend in a Clintonian attempt to re-write history now gets to deal with D-List broadcaster Olbermann.

Keith Olbermann's assessment, Wallace is a monkey. Hard to believe his show has little audience.

In an online "Special comment" Olbermann's gives what sounds like a jealous rage. He writes, "It is not essential that a past president, bullied and sandbagged by a monkey posing as a newscaster, finally lashed back."

Anyway, here's the deal with the prick that is Keith Olbermann, a former sportsjournalist now trying to cast himself as some sort of political expert: don't take him seriously as most of the television viewing audience does as evidenced by the fact that they don't watch him.

You see while being a hypocrite is typical with liberals, insulting people with derogatory terms and using your little watched show as a vehicle to express your hatred of anything related to the President is just desperate. Then too, so is an aging 48-year-old "singer" still making news any and every way she can.

I mean, all the symptoms are there: during his numerous careers Olbermann has managed to piss off everybody not named Dan Patrick. He's a loser and his consistently low ratings on "Countdown" prove it. Hell, if it wasn't for the loyalty the Kos/Howard Dean/Michael Moore-run Left has given him, his show would've been cancelled a long time ago. Bottom line, Olbermann is an unfunny, jealous and miserable boor. He's a bully whose latest job was built off the back of constantly harping on Bill O'Reilly, a man who runs a show Olbermann's "Countdown" will never beat when it comes to viewership. That's why Olbermann (like Madonna) needs to use shock therapy: to save his career. His over-the-top rants on conservatives and the GOP wrecks of the same antics Madonna still uses to keep her name out there. Yet, while Madonna no longer sells records, she can still rely on her ever-loyal "fans" to sell out her shows. So Olbermann, smart-ass that he is, saw a tactic that works and stole it . . . knowing full well that as long as he kowtows to the Left with his venomous, anti-Bush rhetoric he will always have an audience . . . of losers.

Well, yes, Moss dons the front page of another trademark campaigning cover of the Independent, which today highlights the plight of African women.

With her fee no doubt waived, her usually thin lips looking suspiciously plumped, and her narrow nose thickened (though she hasn't been crowned with an afro wig), this is at worst an ill-conceived, cheap idea; at best it's another fabulous, fashionable la-la-land presentation to be taken with a pinch of salt - but this is not merely the latest campaign for Burberry.

This is just another example of how ignorant white liberals are. This cover shot just speaks to the birdbrain and narcissistic idea that a rich, white celebrity who can afford, but chooses not to eat, can pose in Black all because they've taken it upon themselves to do something "good" for the brown people.

And guest editor Giorgio Armani, from whom the idea for the cover shoot apparently first originated should be held just as culpable for pulling this disgraceful stunt. Yeah, better to put an emaciated white model to highlight famine in Africa on your magazine cover than an actual starving African. But hey when you can score some personal PC points by exploiting Africa and playing to racial stereotypes than I guess the end more than justifies the means.
