Tim Robbins: Unhinged Liberal of the Week

Actor Tim Robbins has gone past the bullying stage and is literally going bonkers trying to diss the "surge" of troops in Iraq. His latest rant includes a typical below-the-belt stab at President Bush. Yet, Robbins (aka Susan Sarandon's bitch), noted rich Hollywood liberal that he is, seems to never want to talk about his love for Ralph Nader, a man many liberals still blame for costing Al Gore the 2000 Presidential election.

Newsbusters:
Don’t you find it comical when supposedly tolerant, antiwar Hollywoodans feel the need to hurl childish epithets at their political opponents as they’re feigning moral superiority?

Such was certainly the case Friday when actor Tim Robbins published a scathing article about President Bush and the remaining percentage of Americans that still support the war in Iraq.

Maybe even more ironic was the title, “Our Better Adult,” and the assertion by Robbins that he and his ilk are the mature ones in America as he callously insulted the most powerful man in the world thusly (emphasis mine throughout):

So here we are again. A new year faces us, a clear message has been sent to Washington - and some might say the world - by the people of the United States. Get out of Iraq. And the idiot drunk of a president says, "I hear you."

Yes, Tim, that’s certainly behaving like a better adult. Yet, that was just the beginning of his vitriolic attack:

William & Mary College = Sodom & Gomorrah

Wonder what Chancellor Sandra Day O'Connor thinks about the latest travesty going on at her prestigious school:

Some students at the College of William & Mary are questioning the use of student activity funds to bring a controversial cabaret-style show to campus.

The "Sex Workers' Art Show" was performed Monday on the campus. Various student groups, including the campus gay and lesbian organization, helped to sponsor the event. The show travels nationally featuring former and current sex industry workers. It attempts to dispel negative stereotypes.

"It's degrading to women!" said Ashley Bush, a William & Mary freshman. "I heard they had prostitutes there showing you how to do things that you really don't need to do."

The show was sold out with 300 attendees. More than 100 had to be turned away. $3,000 was requested by the Lambda Alliance to sponsor the show, however, only $1,800 dollars from the Office of Student Activities was awarded. The Women's Studies Department donated $200. The Lambda Alliance also brought the show to campus last year.

Hillary Clinton: Buying The Black Vote

Newsmax.com:

The press reported on Tuesday that Sen. Hillary Clinton had scored a coup in the presidential race by winning the endorsement of a key black political leader in South Carolina, state Sen. Darrell Jackson.

Now it has come to light that just days earlier, Clinton’s campaign reached a deal to pay Jackson’s consulting firm $10,000 a month through the 2008 elections – a deal worth more than $200,000.

"Jackson had also been in talks with Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign about endorsing him and entering into a consulting contract for more than $5,000, sources said – raising questions about whether Jackson’s endorsement was bought by a higher bidder,” the New York Post reported.

Jackson – who is also the minister of a large church in the state capital, Columbia – acknowledged that he should have revealed his financial dealings with the Clinton campaign when he and fellow state Sen. Robert Ford, who is also African-American, endorsed Clinton.

Hillary buying Black vote was definitely not in her campaign plans, but by refusing to underestimate the liberal media's fascination with Barack Obama, once again you're shown just how politically savvy Bill and Hillary Clinton are.

They'll do or say anything to win, which makes them the perfect cons for the political spectrum as they've mastered the art of charm while suckering you to believe anything they tell you simply because it feels and sounds so good. And by crafting a moderate-to-conservative image on the issues, Hillary will appeal to Blacks the same way her husband did for 8 years as president. As a result, indepenents and even some liberal Republicans will vote for her, while extreme Left-wing nuts who might not like Hillary will just be happy to have a Democrat in office.

It's a formula that's worked before and if you're Hillary it's a formula that can work again come 2008. Too bad she had to waste some of that $100 million campaign budget on a faction she once held in the back pocket.

Tim Hardaway Quote of the Day!

"First of all, I wouldn't want him on my team. You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known. I don't like gay people and I don't like to be around gay people. I am homophobic. I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world or in the United States."

- the former NBA player's reaction to former NBA center John Ameachi's new book in which Ameachi announces that he's gay. Hardaway later apologized for the remark.

This Week's Sign of the Apocalypse

Stuart is running for Senate:

Comedian Al Franken said Wednesday he will run for U.S. Senate in 2008, confirming his long-suspected plans to seek the Democratic nomination to challenge Republican Sen. Norm Coleman.

Franken's announcement came on the final day of his radio show on Air America. The former "Saturday Night Live" performer's celebrity instantly makes him a heavyweight contender and brings national attention to the Minnesota race.

"Minnesotans have a right to be skeptical about whether I'm ready for this challenge, and to wonder how seriously I would take the responsibility that I'm asking you to give me," Franken said in a video clip posted on his Web site.

"I want you to know: nothing means more to me than making government work better for the working families of this state, and over the next 20 months I look forward to proving to you that I take these issues seriously," Franken said in a transcript of the clip.

For Your Valentine's Pleasure: Beyonce On SI Swimsuit Cover

Got my 2007 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue today and it wasn’t long before I was instantly reminded as to why this is one my favorite issues of the year.

One word: Beyonce.

Right there on the cover. Now there’s a way to sell a magazine. My thanks SI’s editors for making such an exquisite pick!

Sports Illustrated

Of course, with SI, the swimsuit issue has long set the bar on success. This year alone the SI franchise expects to sell more than 5 million copies of its annual Swimsuit Issue, easily making it the most-read issue of any magazine in the world.

To think it was only 40 years ago that the swimsuit section was a mere fashion spread, but now the Swimsuit Issue has literally become a force of its own with DVDs, exclusive cellphone wallpapers (that feature the lovely Sports Illustrated models from SI Mobile & even includes classic SI models from the past) and corporate tie-ins. These days you can even get swimsuit videos on iTunes.

This year's issue also features a music theme inside, with sensuous models posing with the likes of Kanye West, Aerosmith, Kenny Chesney, Gnarls Barkley and Panic! At The Disco. And with that, SI proves once again that when it comes to excellence, they more than sets the standard.

For Once, I Agree With Rudy Giuliani

Townhall.com:

Rudy Giuliani addressed a potentially troublesome issue with conservative voters, saying his policies as mayor to get handguns off the street helped reduce crime in New York.

"I used gun control as mayor," he said at a news conference Saturday during a swing through California. But "I understand the Second Amendment. I understand the right to bear arms."

He said what he did as mayor would have no effect on hunting.

Addressing another potential trouble spot with conservatives, Giuliani spoke in favor of a border fence, saying, "You have to have secure borders, you have to have a fence, and the fence I think has to be a highly technological one."

The nation needs to know, he said, who is coming into the country and why. But he provided scant details on how he would deal with illegal immigrants already in the country. Citizens, he added, should be able to read and write English.

Granted, I still don't think that Giuliani has a chance in hell to win the GOP nomination simply because red-state voters will see right past his liberal swagger, but the idea that some licensed hunter who likes to shoot a bear or two with his morning Cheerios is going be effected by stricter gun control is just plain ludicrous.
