A well-known Hollywood producer and director has cut an ad against Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) riffing on when the senator chided an Army brigadier general last year for calling her "ma'am."


David Zucker, the director of the 1980 comedy classic "Airplane!" who has worked on myriad films including the "Naked Gun" and "Scary Movie" franchises, directed the "Call Me Senator" spot for Right Change, a 527 and 501(c)4 organization "committed to supporting policies and candidates dedicated to fiscal responsibility and a strong national security for the United States, while upholding the principles of freedom, competitiveness and entrepreneurial spirit of the American people."


The spot goofs on Boxer's testy exchange with Brig. Gen. Michael Walsh at a June 2009 hearing of the Committee on Environment and Public Works. "You know, do me a favor," Boxer told the officer, who was using military protocol to address those higher on the chain of command by "sir" or "ma'am." "Could say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am?'"


"Yes, ma'am," Walsh responded. "It's just a thing, I worked so hard to get that title, so I'd appreciate it, yes, thank you," Boxer continued. "Yes, senator," he responded.

Appearing with the first lady was Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), who faces a potentially tough re-election challenge from Republican nominee Carly Fiorina. In May, President Barack Obama flew to California for a fundraiser to benefit Boxer.

Earlier in June, Mrs. Obama -- who has the luxury of picking and choosing where she goes to speak -- was in Nevada for anti-childhood obesity events with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), whose chances for re-election brightened last week when Republicans nominated Sharron Angle.

Boxer spoke briefly at the Camp Pendleton event; Rep. Susan Davis (D-Calif.) was also there. Even though the first lady takes pains to avoid controversy, and so far has limited her overt political events in the 2010 cycle, the Fiorina campaign said the joint appearance was de facto political help.

Fiorina's campaign manager, in an e-mail to The Associated Press, used the Camp Pendleton event as a peg to attack the incumbent. "The bottom line is that Barbara Boxer has shown a total disregard for our men and women in uniform, and her record on security issues is, to put it generously, dismal," Fiorina's deputy campaign manager, Julie Soderlund, said in the e-mail.

"Today, she's getting some help yet again from the Obamas in an attempt to try to mask that over," Soderlund said. "But the facts are the facts. And the facts bite, especially for those who put their lives on the line every day to protect this great nation."

Fiorina has made Boxer's record on supporting the military an issue and during the GOP primary her campaign highlighted Boxer dressing down a general during a Senate hearing for calling her "ma'am."

What a disgrace. Michelle O. has no shame. To make appearances before our troops with a woman who has shown nothing but complete disregard and disdain for our troops welfare just shows that the "First Lady" is just as corrupt as the husband. One-term baby. One-term.

Barbara Boxer: Decades of Epic Fail

The NRSC didn’t take long to start attacking Barbara Boxer after last night’s California primary nominated Carly Fiorina as the Republican challenger to “Senator Ma’am.” In fact, this 30-second spot kicks off what promises to be an entire series of “Decades of Epic Fail” at a new NRSC microsite, with the domain name CallMeMaam.com. The website features a “greatest hits” compilation of Boxer moments over the years, including the one in which she tells a general to call her Senator instead of “ma’am.” The NRSC wants to give her back that latter honorific:

It’s a great spot, especially for a web ad, although it’s brief enough to run on television. The site is even better. It includes a timeline of Boxer’s political career, a flipbook of the same, and many other tools to dissect her record. Under normal circumstances, a long resume might be seen as a bonus on the campaign trail, but not in a year where voters are looking for alternatives to hidebound incumbents. Boxer has been in Washington since 1983. Maybe it’s time to send her home.

Pro-Gay Obama Gets Heckled By Pro-Gay Hecklers

First, remember the faux OUTRAGE! the lib media hurled at FOX News Bret Baier for supposedly being disrespectful by constantly interrupting the Prez during their interview a couple of months ago. But as we learned many a time during the Bush years, it's only ok to disrespect a President if you're a Democrat.

Second, there's the fact that the Left (this speech took place in San Francisco so you just know the majority, if not all of the crowd here were white liberals) haven't seen a more gay-friendly President in their lifetime--do these idiots not recall that just week Barry issued an executive order demanding that hospitals around the country give gays "equal rights" with hospital visits? Do they not pay attention to the fact that the vast majority of conservatives can't stand Barry and view him as an ideologue? Do they not get just how much on their side he's on?

Lastly, the look on his face tells you that Barry is clearly annoyed and he very well should be. Here is the President of the United States taking time out of his busy schedule to endorse a just as radically-Left, local Senator and he gets heckled by his own base. For what? Not repealing DADT? A move he's vocally supported since he first took the oath? Do these loons really think he can just wave a wand and give them every thing they want on a silver platter? Like yesterday? Well yeah, I guess they do. Of course the irony here is that Barry gets half the blame for putting it in their heads that...'Yes, He Can!'. But then when you lie down with dogs . . .

Obama To Give Barbara Boxer A "Boost"

President Obama heads west Monday afternoon to headline two political fundraisers for his party and for a fellow Democrat. It's the president's second night of fundraising over the past four days.

Obama is the main attraction at two events in Los Angeles for the Democratic National Committee and Sen. Barbara Boxer of California. According to the White House schedule, the president will deliver remarks at a fundraising reception Boxer and the DNC at the California Science Center. Then Obama heads to the Museum of Natural History of Los Angeles, where he will speak at a fundraising dinner for Boxer and the DNC. A Democratic source confirms to CNN that the two events will raise at least $3 million in campaign cash.

LOL! Barry giving a fellow liberal a "boost" in the midst of a tough election bid? We've seen how well that worked with Jon Corzine and Martha Coaxley--in other words, this is terrific news for conservatives who want to be rid of Barbara "Don't Call Me Madame!" Boxer.

Radical Liberal Senator Barbara Boxer Faces Tough Re-Election Fight In California

Hints of re-election trouble for U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer come from a 65-year-old travel agent from this leafy Los Angeles suburb who's a fellow Democrat.

To Helen Sargent, taxes and the national debt are too high, President Barack Obama has proved a disappointment and the Democratic Party needs new faces.

Boxer, who's seeking a fourth term this fall, "has been there too long," Sargent said. "All politicians have a shelf life."

Those are troubling words for Boxer, who won in a 20-point landslide six years ago but now faces the fight of her political career. The nation's economic woes – particularly intense in hard-hit California – and a difficult electoral year for Democrats have created a rough challenge for the 69-year-old liberal Democrat.

Boxer carried Westlake Village by 56 votes in 2004. She's quick to acknowledge the times have changed.

"It's going to be hard. It's going to be tough. I've said that from day one," Boxer told reporters in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Woah, what a huge win this would be for conservatives if understandably frustrated Californian's managed to get rid of Boxer. Who cares about who replaces her? Boxer's so far entrenched in the loon wing, she really makes Pelosi look "nice".

Snow Or No Snow, For Liberals It's Always "Global Warming"!

So despite all these claims by liberal pols that no snow is a clear sign of global warming, now that it's snowing MORE all over the country, that too is a sign of "global warming".

The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.

Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.

Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.

The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.

Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.

The admissions will be seized on by sceptics as fresh evidence that there are serious flaws at the heart of the science of climate change and the orthodoxy that recent rises in temperature are largely man-made.

Abortion Could Kill ObamaCare

Twice now, abortion was almost a dealbreaker. This time, it was a dealmaker. But of hundreds of deals cut so health care legislation can stay alive, the hardest to keep may be the Senate's abortion compromise - achieved after 13 hours of negotiation. The volatile issue remains the biggest threat to getting a history-making bill to President Barack Obama.

Deals are the lifeblood of legislation. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana got $100 million more for her state, Connecticut's Joe Lieberman stripped the bill of a government insurance plan and Ben Nelson won a slew of favors for Nebraska - all in exchange for their votes.

Nelson was also pivotal in the abortion compromise. The abortion-rights foe cast the 60th vote Monday to prevent Republicans from burying the bill.

Abortion is an issue that doesn't usually lead to common ground, since interested groups have radically opposed views. That makes the Senate compromise - which seeks to prohibit the use of tax dollars for abortions - rare, even surprising. It's also why, as Senate Democrats move to negotiations with the House, other deals in their bill may stick more easily.

House liberals are starting to accept that they probably won't get a government insurance plan. But abortion opponents in the House nearly stopped health care once before, and they are poised to try again to preserve their more restrictive approach. It could be a dealbreaker.

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., represented abortion rights supporters in the negotiations only to face criticism from women's rights groups, not just abortion opponents. Now, Boxer is urging lawmakers to take a second look. "You have both sides criticizing it, which means that we did what we had to do, we compromised in a fair way," Boxer said.

Liberal Hypocrite Barbara Boxer Dresses Down Marine For Following Protocol

Earlier this week, U. S. Senator Barbara Boxer took exception when the brigadier-general she was questioning at a Senate hearing kept referring to her as "ma'am." ( "Yes, ma'am." "No, ma'am." etc.) "Could you say 'Senator' instead of 'ma'am?'" she asked. "It's just a thing. I worked so hard to get that title. I'd appreciate it."

It's a strange request given that -- as aspiring senator Chuck DeVore points out on the Bully! Pulpit blog -- the U. S. Army's protocol guide lists "ma'am" as an acceptable way to address a senator.

Stranger still since -- as blogger Tommy De Seno reminds us -- two years ago, Boxer called former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice "Madam" three different times during testimony while Rice was appearing before Congress. "Ma'am" is, of course, the contracted form of "Madam."

The condescending witch that is Barbara Boxer couldn't even say "excuse me." Guess she forgot that the Marine she so rudely interrupted defends her freedom while she looks down at him. It's the liberal way to forget those kind of things.

Barbara Boxer on California Wildfires: Blame Bush!

As to be expected, the usual idiots on the Left are evoking Bush Derangement Syndrome on the California wildfires:

California has four seasons, the old joke goes: earthquake, fire, flood and drought. And we do mean old; we remember hearing it as a boy in Southern California. But these days any unpleasant but normal occurrence--from hurricanes to poverty to bad government in the Middle East--is President Bush's fault, and this is no exception.

The Hill reports on one effort to link the president to California's current fires:

"One reason why we have the fires in California is global warming," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters Tuesday, stressing the need to pass the Democrats' comprehensive energy package.

Moments later, when asked by a reporter if he really believed global warming caused the fires, he appeared to back away from his comments, saying there are many factors that contributed to the disaster.

Of course, global warming is Bush's fault, and so are most if not all of the others, as a Reid colleague tells the Associated Press:

California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer complained on Capitol Hill Tuesday that the ability of the state's National Guard to respond to disasters like the fires has been compromised because too much of its equipment and personnel are committed in Iraq.

Our theory is that George Bush doesn't care about lawyers.

Barbara Boxer: Unhinged Liberal Of The Week

This is America, so unlike most places around the globe, you have every right to criticize your President and your country being at war. But when you're a public figure, much less an elected official, and you choose to make irresponsible comments while deliberately making your criticism personal, you come off as nothing but an arrogant jerk.

WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice found herself at the intersection of anger and ambition when senators called her to account Thursday for a deeply unpopular war.

Five presidential aspirants on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, as well as other up-and-comers in the new Democratic majority, made sure their voices were heard. And these voices -
Republican ones included - were full of frustration and mistrust about how President Bush has prosecuted and pitched the Iraq war.

Even Rice's status as a single woman was fair game.

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., noted Rice has no children of her own to lose overseas. "Who pays the price?" Boxer repeatedly demanded. "You're not going to pay a particular price," she told Rice, because the secretary has no "immediate family" at risk.

Of course, it doesn't matter to idiots like Boxer that our soldiers volunteer to serve their country and that Boxer too has no kids of her own in Iraq, but when you're a liberal why let something like facts get in the way of being an ass?
