Glenn Beck: Bill De Blasio Victory May Turn New York City Into the ‘Next Detroit’

Glenn Beck went off on Wednesday over Bill De Blasio‘s triumph in the New York City mayoral election. He warned that New York could descend into an extreme low point with a “communist” in charge, and things may get so bad, “New York will become the next Detroit.”

Beck said in the 1970s New York was governed by “nightmarish progressive policies that aren’t even close to De Blasio” and projected a fear that the new Democratic mayor will “destroy” the city.

He played a soundbite of De Blasio talking about income inequality, with co-host Pat Gray calling it “such drivel.” Beck suggested De Blasio might be popular because, like Rudy Giuliani, he’s seen as a “strong man, and that’s what New Yorkers like.”

And as opposed to De Blasio saying the defining argument of the modern age is inequality, Beck shot back that the real question is: “Is this the era of the individual or not? is the next hundred years, or possibly five hundred years, where people are more free?”

As opposed to progressivism, which Beck said is always asking the question of “how can we control man.”

Bill O’Reilly Tears Into ‘Hypocrite’ Al Gore For Trying To Settle Current TV Sale Before Taxes Went Up

Bill O'Reilly had some harsh words for Al Gore tonight over his sale of Current TV to Al Jazeera. O’Reilly took issue with Gore’s hypocrisy in trying to finalize the sale before the fiscal cliff deadline this past Monday night to avoid paying higher taxes, as well as doing a deal with “anti-Americans” at Al Jazeera. O’Reilly declared that Gore has “shamed himself” with the deal.

O’Reilly highlighted Gore’s hypocrisy on taxes by bringing up video of Gore saying two months ago that he believes rich people such as himself need to “do our fair share.”

O’Reilly then set his sights on Al Jazeera, a network he declared to be run by “anti-Americans” and even sympathetic to Osama bin Laden. By making a deal with Al Jazeera, O’Reilly said, Gore has “shamed himself.” O’Reilly made it clear he would not want Al Jazeera to be censored, but said the whole deal is “sleazy” and “disgraceful.”

O’Reilly did allow for the possibility that the reports of Gore trying to avoid higher taxes were incorrect, inviting Gore onto his show to explain. But O’Reilly doubted Gore would accept the invitation, saying unequivocally that “we have problems with hypocrites in the No Spin Zone.”

Chick-fil-A is in the middle of a media firestorm after its president, Dan Cathy, told the Baptist Press his company was “guilty as charged” for supporting the traditional family last week. Cathy was labeled a bigot by some, but reading Cathy’s quotes reveals there was nothing hateful in what he said.

“We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit,” he said. “We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.”

Cathy is president of a company that believe “in the importance of loving your neighbor as yourself.” “While my family and I believe in the Biblical definition of marriage, we love and respect anyone who disagrees,” he said. In light of these statements, the loaded term “bigot” seems a bit harsh. Of course, you can easily argue the term “supportive of the family” is a coded phrase that implicates that Cathy is not supportive of gay marriage. But it raises the question of whether someone can be pro-traditional marriage without being anti-gay.

Despite not supporting gay marriage, former Republican presidential candidate and Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman will be honord by the LGBT rights group Equality Utah in September at their annual Allies Dinner. While governor, Huntsman did say he supported civil unions for same-sex couples and legislation that protected gays and lesbians from discrimination in the workplace, however. But Brandie Balken, executive director of Equality Utah, told the Salt Lake Tribune honoring Huntsman wasn’t about a particular position he took.

“It’s much more about a person’s presence in the community and ability to create cultural and attitudinal change and truly their presence and their outward demonstration of Equality Utah’s values,” Balken said.

So both Chick-fil-A and Huntsman support traditional marriage, but the former is facing boycotts and the latter is being honored by an LGBT rights group. Everyone is allowed to their own opinion and freedom of speech, and Chick-fil-A hasn’t done anything illegal. There haven’t been any instances of the company discriminating against its employment or customers because of their sexuality at this time. But while we’re afforded freedom of speech, we don’t have the freedom from the consequences of our speech as illustrated by individuals boycotting Chick-fil-A.

The issue of people of faith not supporting gay marriage for religious reasons is reminiscent in some ways to the argument over contraception earlier this year. The ultimate compromise in a debate over a contraceptive coverage policy allowed religious hospitals and universities the freedom to not offer contraception if it violated their religious beliefs. Polls showed a majority of Catholics supported the compromise.

In dealing with issues many feel are moral issues, seeking a compromise and respecting those with differing views is more helpful than throwing around the word “bigot.” Nevada’s Sen. Harry Reid, who converted to Mormonism while in college, offered a solution when he first voiced his support of gay marriage.

“My personal belief is that marriage is between a man and a woman. But in a civil society, I believe that people should be able to marry whomever they want, and it’s no business of mine if two men or two women want to get married,” Reid said.

Like the debate over contraceptive coverage, gay marriage is a theological issue for some. But as Reid said, living in a civil society means that sometimes people will chose to do things with their lives that you wouldn’t chose to do with yours. Whether that means supporting traditional marriage or supporting gay marriage, respecting people of differing opinons and seeking solutions is more helpful than fighting hate with hate.

Really now, the anti-Christian, no-morals-to-speak-of, radical Left is mad that the owner of a privately run, Christian, chicken joint supports traditional marriage...yunno, like most Americans do. Therefore, taking a page from the Saul Alinsky playbook and of course, using the race card, they're even calling those who still believe in the historical definition of marriage being between a man and woman "bigots" while threatening Chick-fil-A with gay "kiss-in"'s and boycotts. Right, and so self-righteous these loons are they actually believe that that kind of stuff will get Christians to finally put down their bibles and listen to the creeds from hypocritical, smug, anti-God, white social liberals instead.

Glenn Beck paid a visit to his former Fox News colleague Bill O’Reilly on Tuesday to discuss all things Barack Obama. Specifically, the recent radio ad aimed at black voters, in which the background singers sing, “We’ve got your back.” Beck asked, should he be the one who has our backs?


Obama’s the guy who is supposed to be watching over our liberty and our lives, Beck said — and “he’s not doing either.” He asked, “Why do we have his back?” Or, for that matter, any politician’s back. O’Reilly remarked that they like him, so they do.


“A real leader doesn’t snare you in and say, ‘Depend on me, depend on me,’” Beck said. Well, O’Reilly noted, “that’s the difference between you and me and Barack Obama.” Just say it, Beck urged, just say “the m-word.” Egging him on, he pressed, “He’s a Marxist, say it.”


O’Reilly disagreed, offering his own perspective of the president: “I think he’s a dedicated, liberal man, who wants the government to call the shots … I don’t think he wants to seize your mansion.” Au contraire, Beck said Obama would be “thrilled” to put salary caps on them both — another point O’Reilly didn’t go along with.


The Fox host wouldn’t go that far, but conceded that perhaps Obama is a statist, but more accurately, he would deem him to be “the most liberal president ever to hold office.”


Beck further critiqued Obama’s campaign method, noting “he’ll say the keywords to each particular group,” telling voters what they want to hear in order to get elected. What we need, he said (à la Horton the elephant), is politicians who say what they mean and mean what they say.

Michael Savage Offers Newt Gingrich One Million Dollars To Drop Out Of Race

It doesn't matter how worse things have gotten under Obama in the last 3 years, conservatives know Newt Gingrich has way too much baggage to stand a chance against The One in 2012:

Conservative radio host Michael Savage has offered Newt Gingrich $1 million to drop out of the Republican primary race.


Savage posted the announcement on his website, and will go over the specific terms during his radio show on Monday.


He wrote that the Republican primary race has come down to two candidates: Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. He said that Romney was the only candidate capable of beating President Barack Obama in the general election. Therefore, he has offered Gingrich $1 million to "drop out of the presidential race for the sake of the nation."


Savage, who hosts the third-highest rated radio program in the country, outlined the reasons why he believed Gingrich was incapable of beating Obama. In addition to his marital infidelity, checkered past as Speaker of the House, and involvement with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Savage wrote that Gingrich "will come off badly compared to Obama" during presidential debates. Savage wrote that he will "look like nothing more than what he is: a fat, old, white man."


In order to claim his prize, Gingrich must drop out of the race within 72-hours. Savage urged Gingrich to "take the money."

Herman Cain Reassessing Candidacy Amid New Allegations

Men lie. Women lie...you know the rest. My thing is this, if all of these women are lying about Herman Cain either having slept with them or sexually harrassed them, then why isn't Cain suing for defamation of character? I'd think that he'd clearly have a case considering that these heffer's are publicly embarrassing him, damaging his reputation and killing his chance at being President. Bottom line, if they're all lying then where are Cain's lawyers? I'm just saying:

Herman Cain told members of his campaign staff on Tuesday that he was reassessing whether to proceed with his presidential campaign, an aide confirmed, a day after an Atlanta woman disclosed details of what she said was a 13-year affair with him.


In a morning conference call with his advisers, Mr. Cain said that he would make a decision in the coming days about whether to stay in the race after his campaign was rocked by another round of allegations about his sexual conduct.


The call, which was first reported by National Review, came as Mr. Cain was heading to Michigan for a campaign stop on Tuesday evening. He said that he was discussing the future of his campaign with his family and was considering his options.


“This is cause for reassessment,” Mr. Cain said, according to one participant on the call who spoke on condition of anonymity. “During the summer we had to make some reassessments based on our financial situation. We were able to hang in there.”


Mr. Cain denied the accusations from the Atlanta woman, Ginger White. But he acknowledged that the latest report of sexual misconduct might be more difficult to overcome, considering that the first voting is set to take place in five weeks at the Iowa caucuses. He said that he had not lost his enthusiasm to run, but suggested it was a distraction that could be difficult to recover from.


“With this latest one, we have to do an assessment as to whether or not this is going to create too much of a cloud in some peoples’ minds as to whether or not they should support us going forward,” Mr. Cain said, according to the participant on the call.

Liberal Comedian Jimmy Fallon Sandbags Michele Bachmann with "Lyin' Ass Bitch" Intro Music

I'm in the blaming both sides camp on this one. First, Bachmann's handlers for putting her on a late-night liberal comedian's show where she could only look stupid (and she did)--I mean as much as Fallon isn't one of the top names when one thinks of late-night hosts, anybody who does their research would know that Fallon's politics strongly lean Left. Then too, Bachmann just isn't good when it comes to comedy. The point being what good could've possibly come out of Bachmann's appearance here? It's the same thing I wonder about when conservatives choose to go on MSNBC knowing full well that the network serves as Barry's "reelection team"? Secondly, this was just a cowardly move on the part of Fallon and his hip-hop band the Roots--granted the Roots do have a history of using intro music to diss guests in the past who weren't conservatives, but to think if this had happened to a female Democrat politician, the outrage from the MSM would be stupedous. That said, Fallow owes Bachmann an apology and Bachmann's handlers need to do a better job at vetting people before agreeing to allow their candidate to appear on their show, much less look like a fool or risk getting sandbagged:

The dumbest part of this, of course, is the drummer tweeting about it to make sure everyone got “the joke,” which defeats the purpose of disguising the insult. If you know the media’s going to be buzzing about it tomorrow, why not just call Bachmann a “lyin’ ass bitch” to her face? At least that way she’d get to defend herself and the show wouldn’t look like it’s stabbing her in the back.


A Twitter user asked the drummer last night, “you don’t think indirectly calling a guest on your show a ‘bitch’ might blow up in your face? & maybe it should? (I’m a democrat)”. Here was the response. Fallon himself tweeted a few hours ago that the drummer is “grounded” but we’ll have to wait ’til tonight’s show to find out if that means anything more than “please stop yelling at me about Bachmann.”

Thompson is a known supporter of President Obama and has contributed to his campaign. His Twitter account features a photograph of the drummer with the president.

Other than Beck succumbing to pressure from the Left, I just can't see why him and FOX would really be parting ways. I mean he's been saying for months that the advertiser boycott wasn't affecting him or his program. He just got through beating back King Soros and all his cronies in the lamestream media again and despite what some folks have been saying out there his ratings remain sublime, so what other reason could he really have for quitting and letting them win? This just sucks:

Completing a swift rise and fall from TV stardom, controversial host Glenn Beck will lose his once-popular Fox News show later this year, the network announced Wednesday.

Beck's 5 p.m. program, which earned scorn from liberals for its attacks on President Obama as well as its devotion to sometimes-obscure right-wing thinkers, was a top cable draw in 2009 and a signpost for the populist "tea party" movement in last year's midterm elections, which dealt a ballot-box rebuke to the White House.

But ratings plummeted and advertisers bailed as Beck — a cherubic, salt-and-pepper-haired longtime radio host who has compared himself to a rodeo clown — increasingly pursued a hard-to-follow agenda that many found too conspiracy-minded. He also chafed his bosses at Fox News, who faulted him for spending too much time on his far-flung business operations and not enough on honing his TV presentation.

Both sides cobbled together a diplomatically worded statement Wednesday that noted Beck would "transition off" his daily program but stressed that the host and Fox News had reached a new deal for future, as-yet-unspecified projects. Joel Cheatwood, a senior Fox News executive, was hired away to help run Beck's company, Mercury Radio Arts.

Fox News and Beck both declined to comment beyond the statement.

Glenn Beck: I Have 15 Threats Against Me At Any Given Time

Glenn Beck has about 15 threats against his life being investigated at any one time, the popular TV and radio host told Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly.


In a wide-ranging discussion about the allegations of violent rhetoric that have been lobbed against conservatives in the wake of the Gabrielle Giffords assassination attempt in Tucson, Beck told O’Reilly he’s constantly dealing with threats because of his political views.


“The only thing that could be worse would be actual violence,” Beck said. “I don’t know about you, but I have about 15 operating threats on me at any one time.”


O’Reilly replied, “You have security and so do I.”


Beck also revealed that he has formulated a pledge against violence that so far has been agreed to by 17 members of Congress, though he did not know if they were all Republicans.


“Americans are fair and decent and they’re not looking for revenge or anything else,” Beck said, referring to the allegations against Sarah Palin and others. “They just wanted the record set straight. I think the record had been set straight but the damage had already been done.:


Here is Beck’s pledge:


“I denounce violence regardless of ideological motivation. I denounce anyone from the left right or middle who believe physical violence is the answer to whatever they feel is wrong with our country.”

Glenn Beck Explains What’s Up With All Those Dead Birds And Fish

The theme of today’s Glenn Beck seemed to be about trust. Most importantly, the trust that he doesn’t have for the media. To demonstrate this, he found a perfect example in the week’s big media freak out story: all those dead birds and fish. That’s right, Glenn Beck has done what our news media can’t. He’s explained the dead animals!


Shockingly, he didn’t use Kirk Cameron. No, Beck used the magic of the Internet, namely Google. Using the search engine, he discovered that this kind of thing just happens. Fish die out all the time. Massive bird deaths happen about every other year. Nothing unusual. Nothing to fear. Just a fact of nature.


Not the exciting explanation you were hoping for? Sorry.


But Beck did make some good points about the media and trust. Why did all the news broadcasts make us think something was really going on with the birds? Why do newspapers seem to have contradictory reports about the economy on the same front page? Why can’t they just tell us what’s going on? Maybe Beck’s right. Maybe we can’t trust out newspapers and news shows. Maybe we need some other source. But what could it be? Where could it be?


I guess we’ll never know.

Glenn Beck On George Soros: "Obama's Boss"

Glenn Beck has been spending a lot of time talking up his exposé on George Soros which began today and it did not disappoint. Nothing that begins with the dramatic lines “83 years ago, George Soros was born. Little did the world know, then, that economy’s would collapse, currencies would become worthless, elections would be stolen, regimes would fall, and one billionaire would find himself, coincidentally, at the center of it all” ever could. But, at the end of today’s long Soros biography, Beck revealed an interesting anecdote: Soros once sent him a present, a copy of A Face in the Crowd on DVD.


For those that don’t know, A Face in the Crowd is a 1957 film directed by Elia Kazan, whom Beck calls “a communist” (which is a bit of healthy oversimplification). It stars Andy Griffith as Lonesome Rhodes, a fraud of a man whose down-home persona brings him great fame on radio and then television but is later caught insulting his own audience. Soros isn’t the first person to make the comparison to Beck, as it’s a favorite of Keith Olbermann. However, on today’s show, Beck responded to the comparison, promising that he is “not Lonesome Rhodes.”

Glenn Beck Boasts Of George Soros’ And Media Matters Failure To Get Him Off The Air

Glenn Beck isn’t one to hold back, and when it comes to efforts against himself by George Soros and Media Matters, of course he was going to speak up. He did on today’s program, and it had plenty of maniacal laughter, George Soros impressions, and eventually all roads led back to one of Beck’s most oft-made points: progressives think you’re stupid.


As always, he was a fine showman. He called Media Matters founder David Brock “the hero of the downtrodden” while gleefully reminding his audience that even though “they’ve tried to monitor every word I’ve said for years and years,” in the end, “they’ve done everything they can to shut me up – that didn’t work.”


So why did they try so hard to shut him up? Well, Beck said it’s actually not about him (which a screen behind him helpfully pointed out). Rather, it’s about shutting the American people as a whole up. From there, it turned into a monologue about the First Amendment and how Beck doesn’t want his opponents taking off the air, complete with references to Saul Alinsky, Martin Luther King Jr., and Thomas Jefferson. Sure, it was something of a paint-by-numbers Beck segment, but you can’t say he doesn’t know how to do them. Plus, it’s impressive to watch the segment morph from a laugh at the expense of Media Matters to Beck galvanizing his audience, expressing confidence they’ll be the “peacemakers” of tomorrow.”
