New York Times Smears Christine O'Donnell

They can't help Democrats win in November by bragging about anything Barry's done so they're left to degrade, insult and smear:

Christine O'Donnell, the surprise winner of Delaware's GOP senate primaries last month has been avoiding the press since her victory over party favorite Mike Castle shocked poll watchers. As the candidate's quirkier past incarnations and incantations began getting wide circulation, and Republican party officials distanced themselves from her campaign, political journalists have been getting stonewalled in their efforts to interview the Tea Party phenom. On Thursday, O'Donnell broke her undeclared boycott of mainstream media to talk the New York Times' Mark Leibovich about "her journey to conservatism," but by Friday her campaign managers were probably wishing she hadn't.

Leading with "liberal laughingstock and perhaps the embodiment of a can-you-top-this-for-bizarre," the paper of record used this first opportunity to question the candidate to note she displayed the "upbeat personality of an aerobics instructor." The column also introduced readers to O'Donnell's family (her father, Daniel, "worked a series of small television roles before scoring his signature gig - playing Bozo the Clown" and her sister, "Jennie, a lesbian who ... has moved temporarily from Los Angeles to help on the campaign," is a "self-described expert in the 'healing arts'").

 

In response to recent reports about discrepancies in O'Donnell's education and background, the Times informed readers that in her youth the 41-year-old unmarried candidate "planned to become an actress and had a series of romantic relationships" ("I by no means was a slut," she told Leibovich). She also experienced her political awakening as a College Republican ("What I discovered is that I have opinions.") 

Hard pressed, apparently, to write anything substantive about the elusive candidate, the Times closed the 1300 word interview with this reassuring tidbit: "She did surprisingly well on a chemistry exam, ... which emboldened her to take a class in Japanese, which she said she aced."

If it's not FOX, better off to just concentrate on your state and not talk to the lamestream media again Christine.

Rupert Murdoch Apologizes, Al Sharpton Should Accept Apology And Move On

The New York Post issued a second, more contrite apology Tuesday for a controversial cartoon that some critics called racist.

Declaring "the buck stops with me," Post Chairman Rupert Murdoch called the cartoon - which critics believe compared President Barack Obama to the rampaging chimpanzee that mauled a woman in Stamford, Conn., last week - "a mistake."

"We ran a cartoon that offended many people. Today I want to personally apologize to any reader who felt offended, and even insulted," Murdoch wrote in the apology, posted on the newspaper's website.

Murdoch contended that the cartoon was meant to mock the stimulus bill and that, "It was not meant to be racist, but unfortunately, it was interpreted by many as such."

The cartoon, which ran in last Wednesday's newspaper, featured the bullet-filled body of a chimp resembling Travis, the animal in the Stamford attack. Two cops stood over the animal with a caption reading, "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill."

The Rev. Al Sharpton, director Spike Lee and others have been calling for boycotts of the newspaper and an investigation by the Federal Communications Commission into Murdoch's ownership of several media outlets in the city.

Sure, one could make a legitimate case that the idiot cartoonist, Sean Delonis, and whatever Post editor that gave the go-ahead for the cartoon to be printed should be at the very least suspended. I'd be cool with that. But I'm a New York who reads the Post almost every day, and while it certainly can be foul at times, a newspaper with a racist agenda wouldn't survive a day in liberal New York City. Bottom line, the Post f-cked up and the publisher of the paper made an almost unprecedented move and apologized for the screw-up. The people's voice was heard loud and clear on this one and we all should be on the lookout if and when the Post f-cks up again on this level. Al Sharpton and his wholly band of rabble rousers can move on now, if not, they make this about promoting their race-baiting agenda, instead of any real interest in showing and getting people to see the error of their ways.

In Michelle Malkin's World Racism Just Doesn't Exist

It's one of the biggest problem's people have with Far-Right pundits: their defense of racial ignorance no matter how stupid or hate-filled the fuckery:

Al Sharpton and his race racketeers went ape over New York Post staffer Sean Delonas’s anti-stimulus editorial cartoon involving that famous crazed chimp. They picketed the News Corp. building, organized boycotts, targeted advertisers, floated a challenge to Rupert Murdoch’s FCC license — and now the New York Post has apologized.

Oops. Can I say “went ape” anymore? How about “going bananas?” Shall I refrain from asking the race demagogues to quit “monkeying around?” Do I erase “It’s a jungle out there” and “It’s a zoo” from my lexicon? How about “beastly?”

Just a few yelps from Sharpton and the professional protesters who see RAAAAACISM in every inkblot prompted the spunky tab (for whom I write and proudly so) to apologize to “those who were offended by the image.”

Instead of, at worst, making a case that Delonas' cartoon was done in poor taste, Malkin goes out of her way to predictably deflect (Sharpton! Race-Baiter!), defend and make a complete ass out of herself by mocking any and all outrage (I mean why should any black person take issue with being compared to an ape? it's not like America doesn't have a history of that stuff).

But then this is the same woman who wrote a book defending Japanese internment, runs from her Filipino heritage and just the other day had no problem posing with a man carrying a sign equating Barack Obama with Adolf Hitler (tho' she's criticized past Bush=Hitler analogies made by the Left). But indeed, it's an issue with the fringe wings of both sides of the political aisle: at the end of the day they both look, sound and act alike.

Sharpton's Right On This One: New York Post Cartoon Is Clearly Racist

I'm no Al Sharpton fan and I'm always careful about going there, but this right here is some racist bullshit:

The Rev. Al Sharpton says a New York Post cartoon that appears to link President Obama to a violent chimpanzee is "troubling at best."

The cartoon in Wednesday's Post by Sean Delonas shows a dead chimp and two police officers, one with a smoking gun.

The caption reads, "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill."

The cartoon refers to Travis the chimp, who was shot to death by police in Stamford, Conn., on Monday after it mauled a friend of its owner.

It links the chimp to Obama, who signed his administration's economic stimulus plan on Tuesday.

Sharpton called the cartoon offensive and divisive.

The Post had no immediate comment.

I'll say it again, there way too many reasons for conservatives to criticize Barack Obama and his uber-liberal policies without mentioning his race. To go there is just stupid and ignorant and I don't want anything to do with those on the Right who choose to do so. Not only do you come off looking like a fool when talk about BO's race, but you just open door to the Leftist plantation's exploitation of the race card. And in this case it's certainly warranted. I'm sure the usual suspects in the conservative punditry will deflect and scream "Tawana Brawley! Tawana Brawley!", but whatever, because this isn't about Sharpton, it's about calling it as you see it like any fair-minded person would. And apparently, this isn't the first time this cartoonist pulled some racist imagery.
