Rick Sanchez Fired From CNN

Glenn Beck was right, this guy really was a moron:

CNN released this statement today:

“Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.“

They will broadcast CNN Newsroom from 3-5pm for the foreseeable future.

CNN’s Rick Sanchez is not happy with being made fun of constantly on The Daily Show and Colbert Report. It is from this jumping off point that he absolutely unleashed on Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, and at times his own network, on Pete Dominick’s satellite radio show yesterday.
The big takeaway – Sanchez calls Stewart “a bigot,” then walks it back a bit, and he implies CNN is run by Jews.
Dominick was not just a radio show host – he is a CNN contributor who has a regular gig on John King, USA (more on that below), and he formerly was the warm up comic at The Daily Show. Which is why when Sanchez says “I think Jon Stewart’s a bigot” early in the interview, Dominick pushed back:
Dominick: How is he a bigot?
Sanchez: I think he looks at the world through, his mom, who was a school teacher, and his dad, who was a physicist or something like that. Great, I’m so happy that he grew up in a suburban middle class New Jersey home with everything you could ever imagine.
Dominick: What group is he bigoted towards?
Sanchez: Everybody else who’s not like him. Look at his show, I mean, what does he surround himself with?

CNN's Rick Sanchez Calls Obama 'Cotton Picking President', Liberals Stay Mum

Rick Sanchez referred to Barack Obama as the "cotton picking president" on CNN Monday.

Sanchez made the comment in a discussion with CNN correspondent Jessica Yellin on "Rick's List" about the many falsehoods that have been spread about Obama, such as the claim that he is a Muslim or that he is not a citizen of the United States. His voice rising in frustration, Sanchez asked Yellin why people continued to believe the false rumors:

"He is the cotton picking president of the United States! If the president of the United States doesn't have enough of a bully pulpit to convince people that...a lie is a lie...what the hell is going on here?"

After a commercial break, Sanchez immediately apologized. He said that soon after he had used the phrase, people had started contacting him on Twitter, pointing out that he had just used it when referring to a black man — an insensitive reference, given the phrase's connections to slavery.

"You know I didn't even realize it?" he said. "I was just saying 'cotton picking' because it's a term that I've used because I grew up in the South...however, I apologize for using it, in case it was taken by anyone as an act of disrespect."

One can only imagine the OUTRAGE!!! from the Left if Glenn Beck or Limbaugh had said this.

CNN's Rick Sanchez Admits That "Racist" Rush Limbaugh Quotes Were Made Up

Not only does Sanchez apologize, but MSNBC host (and Olbermann wannabee) David Shuster backs up on "racist" quotes he also claimed Rush made. In other words, both CNN and MSNBC are smart enough to know that attributing "racist" quotes to a big-name like Limbaugh (esp. after he got dumped from the group that's trying to buy the St. Louis Rams) could make for a huge case of libel. Sanchez and Shuster aren't being sincere here, they're just looking out for their jobs, much less their higher-ups wallets.

It hurts me because he's such a prick, but I gotta agree with Rick Sanchez on this one. This company is making megabucks exploiting the homeless and they can't give a percentage to a homeless organization? For shame.

Well, that's what CNN's Rick Sanchez amazingly believes.

Inside Cable News discovered a few rather interesting tweets by Sanchez on Friday which are sure to raise a few eyebrows -- especially from Hispanics working at Fox (h/t NBer Thomas Stewart):

Readers should be advised that this is the same man who blamed Fox News and conservative talkers for the cop killings in Pittsburgh back in April, and earlier this month asked if Sarah Palin was resigning as Alaska governor because she was pregnant again.

Yeah, Rick...you're a "newsman."

It's the typical attitude/arrogance displayed by liberal minorities--that if you're conservative, you're a sellout or an "Uncle Tom". It's old and it's tired. They just can't stand diverse opinions. Ironic too that an arrogant prick likes Sanchez would think that FOX would even want him. Considering their consistent No. 1 ratings, the idea that Sanchez is even on FOX's radar is funny at best.

Rick Sanchez Trying Desperately To Be Keith Olbermann: Exploits Pittsburgh Cop Killings To Score Liberal Talking Points

CNN’s Rick Sanchez returned to blasting conservatives on Wednesday’s Newsroom program, blaming the murder of three Pittsburgh police officers on the Fox News Channel and other media on the right: “That weekend tragedy involves a man who allegedly shot and killed three police officers in cold blood. Why? Because he was convinced, after no doubt watching Fox News and listening to right-wing radio, that quote, ‘Our rights were being infringed upon.’” He tag-teamed with Media Matters fellow Eric Boehlert to argue that conservative media personalities like Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity were offering “garden-variety fear and hate mongering...night in and night out.”

One could be sure that Sanchez would be pointing his finger squarely at his competitors on the right from the first moment he mentioned the gun issue, which was 13 minutes into the CNN program. After playing audio of gunshots from the Pittsburgh murders, he gave the following promo: “What you’re hearing there is three police officers killed by a man who thought President Obama would take away his guns. Who put that thought in his head? And how many more Americans believe that? Could it be 1.2 million Americans? You’re going to see why I’m asking that question.” Sanchez gave a further hint that his target was Fox News during another promo ten minutes later: “Are Americans being fed a pack of lies about President Obama and guns laws? And is it creating a gun buying panic? “We’ll report, you decide.” That’s not too obvious is it?

Again, the Left could care less about those grieving over the loss of these brave officers, especially when they can use the story to channel their hate for conservatives. It's the depth they're consistently willing to sink themselves to.
