Rand Paul Brutalizes Hillary Clinton: ‘Had I Been President’ I Would Have Fired You

During Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s Congressional testimony regarding what she knew about the attack on an American consulate in Benghazi last year, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) took the opportunity of his question to bluntly attack Clinton’s negligence in the months preceding the attack. Paul thanked Clinton for taking culpability for “the worst tragedy since 9/11,” but noted that, if he had been President of the United States at the time of the attack and had learned that Clinton failed to read some key diplomatic cables before that event, he would have relieved her of her post.

Paul’s opening statement prior to his question for Sec. Clinton consisted of a savage rebuke of her leadership of the State Department leading up to the attack in Benghazi:

One of the things that disappointed me most about the original 9/11 is that no one was fired. We spent trillions of dollars, but there were a lot of human errors. These are judgment errors and the people who make judgment errors need to be replaced, fired, and no longer in the position of making these judgment calls.
So, we have a review board – review board finds 64 different things that we can change. A lot of them are common sense and should be done, but the question is it’s a failure of leadership that they weren’t done in advance. And four lives were cost because of this.
I’m glad that you’re accepting responsibility. I think that, ultimately, with your leaving, you accept the culpability for the worst tragedy since 9/11. And I really mean that.
Had I been president at the time, and I found that you did not read the cables from Benghazi, you did not read the cables from Ambassador [Chris] Stevens, I would have relieved you of your post. I think it’s inexcusable.

“Not to know of the request for securities, really, I think, cost these people their lives,” he added. “Their lives could have been saved had someone been more available. Had someone been aware of these things – more on top of the job.” 

“I think it’s good that you’re accepting responsibility, because no one else is,” Paul concluded. “There is a certain amount of culpability to the worst tragedy since 9/11, and I’m glad you’re accepting this.”

Paul went on to ask Clinton what she knew about possible shipments of weapons from Libya to Turkey and if the United States was involved in that transfer. Clinton appeared perplexed by the question. She said that she had no knowledge of any weapons transfers from Libya to Turkey, let alone any U.S. involvement in such a transfer.

Democrats Slap Charles Rangel On The Wrist, Recommend Censure

Who says Democrats don't get tough when one of their own commits major ethics violations, much less why the recent midterm elections showed an America that wants these bums out of office. I mean really now:

The House ethics committee on Thursday recommended censure for longtime Rep. Charles Rangel, suggesting that the New York Democrat suffer the embarrassment of standing before his colleagues while receiving an oral rebuke by the speaker for financial and fundraising misconduct.

Censure is the most serious congressional discipline short of expulsion. The House, which could change the recommended discipline by making it more serious or less serious, probably will consider the recommendation after Thanksgiving.

The ethics committee voted 9-1 to recommend censure and that Rangel pay any taxes he owes on income from a vacation villa in the Dominican Republic. The five Democrats and five Republicans on the panel deliberated for about three hours behind closed doors.

Earlier, at a sanctions hearing, the 20-term congressman apologized for his misconduct but said he was not a crooked politician out for personal gain. He was in the House hearing room when the ethics committee chairman, Democratic Rep. Zoe Lofgren of California, announced the recommendation.

Rangel said, "I hope you can see your way clear to indicate any action taken by me was not with the intention of bringing any disgrace on the House or enriching myself personally."

New York Rep. Charles Rangel, a longtime power in the U.S. House, violated its rules with financial misconduct, brought it discredit and will be punished, fellow lawmakers sitting as jurors ruled on Tuesday.

Protesting the enduring stain on his four-decade congressional career, the 80-year-old Democrat said he was treated unfairly for "good faith mistakes." His statement reflected the bitterness of an eight-month career slide, starting with an unrelated ethics ruling that forced him from his coveted chairmanship of the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee.

The conduct often cited by critics was his failure to report income to the IRS from a unit he owned in a Dominican Republic resort — showing the chairman in charge of tax legislation shortchanged the IRS.

Rangel, a founder of the Congressional Black Caucus, remains a political kingpin in New York's famed Harlem neighborhood and is unlikely to resign. He won re-election earlier this month.

Convicted on 11 of 13 charges of rules violations, his ordeal isn't finished.

Long overdue.

Democrat Charles Rangel Faces House Ethics Committee Hearing, Snaps At Reporters Questions

The House Ethics Committee will hold a formal hearing on alleged violations by Rep. Charles Rangel, the New York Democrat forced to step aside as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee earlier this year over ethics questions.

In a document issued Thursday, the panel appointed an eight-member adjudicatory subcommittee to determine if allegations against Rangel "have been proved by clear and convincing evidence."

A formal hearing will be a trial-like session involving formal charges with lawyers for the House acting as prosecutors and Rangel's lawyers defending him.

There was no immediate information available on the possible charges Rangel faces. According to the ethics committee document, the subcommittee that will hold the formal hearing will have its first organizational meeting on July 29.

n comments to reporters, Rangel said he welcomed the news and wanted to testify in his defense.

"It gives me an opportunity to respond to my friends and constituents who have supported me for 40 years," Rangel said. "All I've been able to give them is 'trust me.' "

Sheila Dixon Continues The Democratic Culture of Corruption

Baltimore mayor Sheila Dixon shows us that even gender can't get in the way of Black mayors of large U.S. cities getting into a heap of trouble with the law:

A Maryland grand jury on Friday indicted Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon on 12 criminal counts, including theft and perjury, for alleged official misconduct beginning when she was a councilwoman.

A number of the charges relate to gifts that prosecutors say Ms. Dixon received from developers, including her former boyfriend, Ronald Lipscomb, and didn't properly disclose. Mr. Lipscomb isn't named in the indictment but was charged with bribery this week in Baltimore. His lawyer has said he is innocent.

In addition, the Maryland prosecutor's office charged that for four years Ms. Dixon misused holiday gift cards that were intended to be distributed to needy families. Prosecutors say she gave them to members of her staff and used them to buy herself electronics and clothing.

Ms. Dixon said in a statement that she had been unfairly accused, adding: "I am confident that I will be found innocent of these charges." She said she wouldn't step down as mayor.

Sheila Dixon = Clarence Royce. But then the real city of Baltimore, heavily Democratic and 65% Black as it is, probably wouldn't have the guts to ever elect a white mayor.

Democrat Mayor Larry Langford Arrested, No Party Affiliation Listed By Liberal Media

Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford was arrested this morning on federal charges and is being held at the federal courthouse, the FBI and other federal officials confirm.

.... A special grand jury for several months has been investigating county bond deals and Langford's financial dealings. Langford was Jefferson County Commission president 2002-06.

..... The Langford, LaPierre and Blount indictments are under seal, so details of the charges are not available.

Langford, LaPierre and Montgomery investment banker Bill Blount are accused in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission lawsuit of not disclosing $156,000 in payments to Langford. The SEC has accused Blount of paying Langford through LaPierre as part of a plan to secure Jefferson County financial business when Langford was Jefferson County Commission president. The SEC lawsuit against Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford fails to show how friends' personal payments to Langford led to $6.7 million in government business, their lawyers said in a filing seeking dismissal of the suit this summer.

When it comes to media bias for Democrats, again there's no shame in their game.

The failing liberal press once again displays why it's a cesspool of one-sided journalism:

What journalistic crime has been committed this time? How about, selective memory when it comes to a Democrat running afoul of the law.

Picture this if you will. The Mayor of a major U.S. city has been ordered to jail for violating bond. The MSM reports on the situation, but fails to mention the Mayor's party affiliation anywhere in the article. This makes it a foregone conclusion - the Mayor is a Democrat.

While it is common place for the MSM to avoid mentioning the word Democrat in a headline involving someone being charged, indicted, or sent off to jail, it is taking it a giant step further when they fail to mention it all together.

Contrast this with the recent headlines surrounding the indictment of Ted Stevens. The AP headline read as follows:

Why He's the Corrupt Democrat of the Week: for being sentenced to 27 months in prison this past Tuesday after having been convicted of five counts of fraud by a federal jury back in April. The jury found that James abused a program to revitalize Newark's South Ward, selling city-owned property to his former mistress for approximately $46,000, which she then flipped for a profit of over $600,000. Indeed, James, who ruled Newark for decades, is now the symbol of a city long plagued by Democratic corruption.

Barack Obama: Corrupt Democrat of the Week

Birthplace: Honolulu, Hawaii

Claim To Fame: junior Senator from Illinois and presumptive nominee of the Democratic party for President in 2009.

Why He's The Corrupt Democrat of the Week: for attempting to silence a campaign supporter who resurfaced this week after her office was caught with a Cuban flag featuring a picture of racist 60's racidal Che Guevera superimposed on it back in February. Guevera, who used to be BFF with Cuban leader Fidel Castro, was a terrorist whose long been embraced by young, left-wing loons who don't have a clue of who he really was, much less his hatred for Blacks. Perhaps that's why Barack stopped Maria Isabel, a Houston area volunteer for his campaign, from talking about the Guevera flag just in case she ever resurfaced (which she did last week on a radio talk show). Yet, Obama is the same person who uses Guevera quotes on his campaign website and many of his liberal supporters remain huge fans of the Cuban icon. Indeed, you'd think Barack would be smart enough to know that once you sleep with dogs you usually end up with fleas.

Gary Dodds: Corrupt Democrat of the Week

Amongst many other grievances he's a wife-beater too:

CONCORD, N.H.—Former congressional candidate Gary Dodds, who was arrested this week for allegedly violating his bail conditions, will be released from jail but subject to 45 days of electronic monitoring while he appeals his conviction stemming from a crash two years ago.

Dodds was convicted in February of falsifying evidence, creating a false public alarm and leaving the scene of an April 2006 crash that prosecutors allege he staged to boost his faltering campaign. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail and a year of home confinement but was out on bail when he was arrested Tuesday morning after his wife reported that he had been acting irrationally, moved out of their Rye home and thrown her to the floor during an argument.

A hearing was scheduled for Thursday to set new bail conditions, but an agreement was reached Wednesday, said defense lawyer J.P. Nadeau.

"It was negotiated. His main concern was for his wife and his children and himself not to have to go through another public spectacle," Nadeau said.

"Another public spectacle"? Nah, only Republicans gave to worry about that, even if they're small-time like Vito Fossella.

Christine Quinn: Corrupt Democrat of the Week

This week's most Corrupt Democrat is longtime NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn. Last month it was reported that Quinn's office allocated money to fictitious nonprofits as a placeholder to disburse the money throughout the year--that included $$$ to her lesbian lover. It has also been reported that some council members allocated money to bogus groups in their neighborhoods. In some cases the nonprofits had relatives of council members on their payroll. Two aides to Councilman Kendall Stewart (D-Brooklyn) have been indicted for skimming $145,000 to bogus nonprofits and the investigation threatens to grow. Now Quinn, a possible candidate for mayor when Michael Bloomberg's second term ends, is facing scrutiny from the feds as well as calls from her own peeps on the City Council to resign:

Two weeks ago, Ms. Quinn was facing her first major public embarrassment: the disclosure that she had not known, or had been less than forthright, about the strange way the Council handled its discretionary funds. Now she is facing what may be a more serious threat to her political future: the growing rebellion of council members who have criticized her attempts to limit damage from the revelations as amounting to a surrender of power to the mayor.

With little notice or briefing to council members, Ms. Quinn held a news conference last Friday to unveil a plan to allocate discretionary grants through a competitive process overseen by the mayor’s Office of Contracts, severely curtailing the Council’s latitude.

Some have called her dishonest. Some have called for her to resign. William C. Thompson Jr., the city comptroller and a potential rival in a race for the mayor’s office, has said he would police the Council’s spending. And Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said he wanted the administration to oversee all but the smallest Council appropriations.

Sharpe James: Corrupt Democrat of the Week

Since your liberal media tends to favor highlighting Republican politicians in trouble with the law as opposed to their "name-that-party", Democrat counterparts, I figured I'd take it upon myself to begin showcasing corrupt Dems making news, but not nearly enough news. First batter up is very well-known, former & longtime mayor of Newark, NJ:

Former Newark, New Jersey, Mayor Sharpe James and co-defendant Tamika Riley were found guilty Wednesday of charges related to property fraud, the U.S. Attorney's Office in the District of New Jersey said.

Prosecutors said James, 72, hijacked a program designed to encourage urban renewal by offering developers land at low costs, and approved the sale of city-owned properties to Riley, 39, then his girlfriend, at a fraction of their actual value from 2001 to 2005.

With James "steering" land to her, Riley bought multiple discounted properties and resold them at market rate without attempting to first rehabilitate them, as required by the program, prosecutors said. Riley collected about $500,000 in profits from the transactions, they said.

James and Riley were found guilty of fraud charges, including conspiracy to "defraud the public of James' honest service." Riley alone was additionally found guilty of tax fraud and evasion. They will probably face four- to five-year sentences, district attorney spokesman Mike Drewniak said.

Mind you, James still faces a federal trial on charges he used city-issued credit cards to pay for $58,000 worth of personal expenses while he was mayor, including trips with several women other than his wife to Martha's Vineyard, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Rio de Janeiro. No shame, no shame.

Democrat Klansman Robert Byrd Refuses To Leave Committee

The 90-year-old geezer from West Virginia showing the same resolve as he probably did burning crosses on Black folks lawns back in the day:

WASHINGTON — West Virginia Sen. Robert Byrd isn't going gently into any good night, despite reports that 15 Senate Democrats have been talking privately about deposing the Senate Appropriations Committee chairman.

Byrd, 90, has been in and out of the hospital in recent weeks and missed a series of votes before the Spring recess.

That has led, according to Roll Call newspaper, to several senators holding "the first of what's likely to be several private discussions" about whether Byrd can handle his duties as the head of the most powerful committee on Capitol Hill — especially at a time when annual appropriations get into full gear.
