Soap Opera Actress Punches Liberal Billionaire, Ex-Boyfriend George Soros in Face

Of course if one of the Koch brothers was going through the Jerry Springer-style drama going on here, it'd be getting a whole lotta more attention from your liberal media:
That’s not an exaggerated headline at all: according to Manhattan court records, an angry Brazilian soap opera actress named Adriana Ferreyr literally punched her ex-boyfriend George Soros in the head during a deposition, and hit at least three other people.

As stated in testimony from Soros’s lawyers, the punch-fest took place last week during a private deposition for a multi-million dollar lawsuit Ferreyr filed against Soros in 2011. Ferreyr, 30, is demanding that Soros, 83, give her the $1.9 million condo in the Upper East Side he promised her while they were dating. (Soros eventually gave the condo to his new wife, which, oooosh.)

Here is the timeline of Actual Events that Allegedly Actually Happened, On Penalty of Perjury, according to the New York Daily News:
1) In the middle of Soros’s two-hour long deposition to Ferreyr’s lawyer, Ferreyr herself storms into the room with a videographer. “I am filming and calling CNN,” she “insisted in a loud voice”, according to records.
2) Ferreyr’s lawyer tells her she’s not allowed to film the deposition. Ferreyr punches her own lawyer in the arm (Punch count: 1) and storms out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

3) Soros goes to the restroom (so old), but runs into Ferreyr in the hallway. “Asshole! You piece of shit!” Ferreyr screams at him.

4) Soros’s attorney Martin Singer then states that Ferreyr spent another 20 minutes yelling at her own lawyer, then tried once again to film the deposition with her cellphone/possibly computer.

5) And everything went to hell during the lunch break, according to Singer, when Ferreyr punched everyone in the face:
“Suddenly and without warning … [Ferreyr] lunged at Mr. Soros — who is 83 years old — and struck his head with her hands, knocking off the headphones he was wearing to amplify the audio in the room.”
(Punch count: 2)
“Ms. Ferreyr pulled back her arm to strike Mr. Soros in the face. I was able to grab both of (her) arms to move her away….I let go of her arms. Ms. Ferreyr immediately swung at my face, knocking off my glasses.”
(Punch count: 3)
BONUS ROUND: Ferreyr then slapped one of Soros’s aides in the face and kicked him in the shins.
Soros’s lawyers have asked the presiding judge to prevent Ferreyr from editing any footage she took during the confrontation.

Liberal Billionaire George Soros Backs Pro-Hillary Clinton Super PAC

Of course, Soros never gets the kind of criticism his counterparts, the Koch Brothers, get from the liberal media:
Liberal billionaire George Soros has accepted a position on the National Finance Council of the Ready For Hillary Super PAC, a group paving the way for a 2016 presidential run for the former first lady. Soros, 83, has long been a monetary influence behind liberal politics, but this is the first time he has accepted a formal role on an American political campaign. Soros has a long history of funding liberals and attacking conservatives, and spent more than $27.5 million trying to defeat President George W. Bush in 2004, including funding such groups as MoveOn.org.

The Washington Post article on this recent announcement referred to Soros as a “billionaire investor, philanthropist and backer of liberal causes,” but this significantly understates Soros’ position and influence. With a political philosophy so far left that it borders on Orwellian, Soros has had an incredible amount of influence in liberal politics through the generous endowments from his Open Society Foundations.

To give a good measure of the Soros move, the liberal Huffington Post led its front page with the headline: “SOROS IS IN!” immediately following the announcement.

Soros political director Michael Vachon said that his boss’s support for the PAC “is an extension of his long-held belief in the power of grassroots organizing.” But there’s nothing “grassroots” about Soros.

Soros has given a total of $550 million to liberal causes between 2000 and 2009. Since launching his Open Society Foundations in 1984, Soros has donated more than $8 billion to nonprofits around the world.
According to OpenSecrets.org, Soros spent $2,775,000 supporting liberals in the 2012 election alone, just through his personal donations. OpenSecrets.org is a project of the Soros-funded Center for Responsive Politics, which has received $550,000 from Soros’ Open Society Foundations since 2000. He was “was an early supporter of Barack Obama, first in his Senate campaign in Illinois and later when he ran for president,” according to his foundations.

Soros’ political views are far left, even for most liberals. He has funded pro-abortion groups, pro-gay marriage organizations, anti-Israel and radical environmental groups. He has extensively promoted his idea of an “open society,” although even he admitted that it won’t end well.

Soros said: “in an open society none of the existing ties are final, and people's relation to nation, family, and their fellows depends entirely on their own decisions. Looking at the reverse side of the coin, this means that the permanence of social relationships has disappeared; the organic structure of society has disintegrated to the point where its atoms, the individuals, float around without hindrance.”

And from there, the description got worse. “Choices arise which would not even have been imagined in an earlier age. Euthanasia, genetic engineering, brainwashing become problems of practical importance. The most complex human functions, such as thinking, may be broken down into their elements and artificially reproduced. Everything appears possible until it has been proven to be impossible.”

On top of joining the PAC, Soros has already pledged $25,000 to Ready For Hillary to date. Hillary Clinton herself has not formally declared that she is running for election in 2016.

Guns, Sex, And MSNBC: Daily Caller Publishes Media Matters Exposé

Mediaite.com:
On Sunday, conservative news and opinion site The Daily Caller published a lengthy report on Media Matters, the high-powered — and, the article reports, highly influential — liberal media watchdog group. The article, published by site founder Tucker Carlson and senior online editor Vince Coglianese with contributions by reporters Alex Pappas and Will Rahn, takes a look not only at the organization’s influence on major media outlets, advertisers and the White House, but also offers a portrait of Media Matters’ head, David Brock.

Media Matters’ power is not only in drawing attention to or commenting on instances of media bias or quibbles among various political personalities, notes the Daily Caller, but on enacting real changes in networks, usually by going after specific news makers with the help of kindred organizations. For example, Media Matters — working in conjunction with the NAACP, the National Association of Black Journalists, and the National Action Network — was instrumental in bringing attention to radio host and former MSNBC personality Don Imus comments regarding the Rutgers women’s basketball team — attention that ultimately saw Imus being fired from the network. The same held true for the organization’s efforts regarding those advertisers working with CNN’s Lou Dobbs and Fox News’ Glenn Beck.

That influence, the Daily Caller adds, also extends to essentially creating news for a certain major cable news outlet:

High profile though these victories against conservatives were, Media Matters has perhaps achieved more influence simply by putting its talking points into the willing hands of liberal journalists. “In ‘08 it became pretty apparent MSNBC was going left,” says one source. “They were using our research to write their stories. They were eager to use our stuff.” Media Matters staff had the direct line of MSNBC president Phil Griffin, and used it. Griffin took their calls.

Stories about Fox News were especially well received by MSNBC anchors and executives: “If we published something about Fox in the morning, they’d have it on the air that night verbatim.”

That influence also extends to print and online outlets, with several well-known reporters named in the report as being particularly amenable to Media Matters’ tips and stories. Among those named is Ben Smith, formerly of Politico and currently of BuzzFeed. According to an unnamed former staffer, Media Matters knew Smith would “take stories and write what you want him to write.”

Former Democrat Governor Jon Corzine Says He Doesn't Know Where An Estimated $1.2 Billion In Client Funds Are

Jon Corzine is not only a disgrace, but a man that Barack Obama and his entire leftwing base  tried to get re-elected in New Jersey a couple of years ago:
Jon S. Corzine told lawmakers he never intended to break any rules as head of MF Global Holdings Ltd. and doesn’t know what happened to an estimated $1.2 billion in missing client funds.

“I’m not in a position, given the number of transactions, to know anything specifically about the movement of any specific funds,” Corzine said today at a House Agriculture Committee hearing in Washington. “I certainly would never intend to direct or have segregated funds moved.”

Under subpoena and under oath, the former Democratic senator and New Jersey governor testified on Capitol Hill for two and a half hours, repeatedly apologizing to investors, customers and employees of the failed New York brokerage.

“I simply do not know where the money is, or why the accounts have not been reconciled to date,” Corzine said. “I apologize, both personally and on behalf of the company, to our customers, our employees and our investors. I truly know that they are bearing the brunt” of the collapse.

Under repeated questioning, Corzine said that he did not knowingly authorize any movement of funds out of client accounts, and that any such transfers could have been a misunderstanding or misinterpretation of his intent.

Far-Left, Billionaire Activist George Soros Is Behind Occupy Wall Street Protests

You knew the truth would come out eventually, I'm just surprised that FOX didn't report this first. Now will the protesters go to Soros' many homes and protest in front of them as they are with wealthy New Yorkers? I highly doubt it:
Anti-Wall Street protesters say the rich are getting richer while average Americans suffer, but the group that started it all may have benefited indirectly from the largesse of one of the world's richest men.

There has been much speculation over who is financing the disparate protest, which has spread to cities across America and lasted nearly four weeks. One name that keeps coming up is investor George Soros, who in September debuted in the top 10 list of wealthiest Americans. Conservative critics contend the movement is a Trojan horse for a secret Soros agenda.

Soros and the protesters deny any connection. But Reuters did find indirect financial links between Soros and Adbusters, an anti-capitalist group in Canada which started the protests with an inventive marketing campaign aimed at sparking an Arab Spring type uprising against Wall Street. Moreover, Soros and the protesters share some ideological ground.

"I can understand their sentiment," Soros told reporters last week at the United Nations about the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations, which are expected to spur solidarity marches globally on Saturday.

Pressed further for his views on the movement and the protesters, Soros refused to be drawn in. But conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh summed up the speculation when he told his listeners last week, "George Soros money is behind this."

Soros, 81, is No. 7 on the Forbes 400 list with a fortune of $22 billion, which has ballooned in recent years as he deftly responded to financial market turmoil. He has pledged to give away all his wealth, half of it while he earns it and the rest when he dies.

Like the protesters, Soros is no fan of the 2008 bank bailouts and subsequent government purchase of the toxic sub-prime mortgage assets they amassed in the property bubble.

The protesters say the Wall Street bank bailouts in 2008 left banks enjoying huge profits while average Americans suffered under high unemployment and job insecurity with little help from Washington. They contend that the richest 1 percent of Americans have amassed vast fortunes while being taxed at a lower rate than most people.

BANKING LIFE SUPPORT

Soros in 2009 wrote in an editorial that the purchase of toxic bank assets would, "provide artificial life support for the banks at considerable expense to the taxpayer."

Far-Left Activist George Soros Accused Of Beating And Choking Girlfriend

Mediaite.com:
Liberal businessman and financier George Soros is facing legal trouble over a promise he allegedly broke to his ex-girlfriend, a Brazilian soap opera star named Adriana Ferreyr (You can check out her IMDB page here.) Ferreyr, shown here on a trip with Soros last December, has filed a $50 million lawsuit against her ex, alleging that he slapped and choked her while the two argued about an apartment he’d promised her on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

According to the suit, Sorors dumped Ferreryr after five years of dating. The two then reconciled briefly, at which point Soros leaned over to Ferreyr while in bed and whispered that he’d given the apartment he’d promised her on 30 E. 85th St. to another woman. And that’s when, the actress alleges, the proverbial dookie hit the proverbial fan. She says Soros proceeded to slap her and choke her. Then, he allegedly tried to hit her with a glass lamp, which ended up breaking on the floor and cutting her foot, resulting in three stitches.

Police were called, but no charges were filed. Soros’ lawyer tells the New York Post that police “investigated the… incident referred to and concluded that no assault occurred… George Soros did not slap, choke or throw a lamp at her.”

Later, Soros allegedly apologized and offered to buy Ferreyr another multi-million apartment… only to break his promise once again.
Let's see how much attention this gets from the MSM. Then too, I always assumed that Soros was teh ghey.

George Soros Funded NPR in October 2000 -- For a Documentary on the 'Texas Death Machine' Under George W. Bush

Again, the NPR does not have a liberal agenda, no sirree, none whatsoever:
Matthew Boyle at the Daily Caller offered more Thursday on how NPR director of institutional giving Betsy Liley discussed with the fake Muslim front group MEAC how George Soros decided to obscure his large donation to NPR by opting against on-air announcements of his $1.8 million gift to place reporters in every state capital (perhaps complete with medical-marijuana information brochures).

But then Liley suggested to the MEAC impersonators this was not the first time Soros donated to NPR. In a classic example of Soros-enabled liberal bias, he funded a documentary about executions in the state of Texas -- on October 12, 2000! -- just as Texas Gov. George W. Bush was running for president. This was the day after Bush was questioned on the death penalty in Texas in a presidential debate. (Salon.com interviewed the documentarians under the headline "Inside the Texas Death Machine.")

This attempt at a public execution of the Bush for President campaign had multiple funders, according to the press release: "Witness to an Execution was funded in part by the Rockefeller Foundation, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Soros Foundation."

Certainly a press release is public notice of a Soros grant. But it's not as much notice as announcing the grant on NPR's air from coast to coast. From Boyle's account:

Liley brought up Soros and his nonprofit organization, the Open Society Institute, while discussing what kind of on-air publicity the Muslim Education Action Center (MEAC) Trust would want in exchange for its donation. Liley mentioned that Soros and his organization decided they didn't want on-air publicity for their donation to avoid conservatives' scrutiny.

"George Soros and the Open Society Institute gave us $1.8 million, and they have decided not to use on-air credits because of what's happening in Congress," Liley said. When the man she thought represented the fictitious Muslim Brotherhood front group asked her how Soros's donation and "what's happening in Congress," relate, Liley said conservatives tried to link Soros's donation to Williams's firing.

Bernie Goldberg Upset With “Supposed Journalist” Fareed Zakaria

Mediaite.com:
The all-out war between Glenn Beck and George Soros to make Godwin’s Law an official scientifically-accepted principle continued this weekend on CNN, where the billionaire told Fareed Zakaria that Fox News’ “falsehoods” were similar to what succeeded in Weimar Germany. On tonight’s Factor, Bill O’Reilly tried to make sense of Soros’ continued escalation of the feud while regular guest Bernie Goldberg wondered why Zakaria allowed that language to begin with.

Once in a while, O’Reilly said by way of explanation, “Soros comes down from this plush boardroom, or his private jet lands somewhere near CNN headquarters,” and he gives an opinion. This was highly perplexing to O’Reilly, as he didn’t believe Soros was “changing anybody’s mind” by speaking out, nor was he making much business. Goldberg argued that Soros merely spoke out because he believed in what he said. “I think he honest to God believes every syllable of what he said,” he argued, but that, more problematic than Soros’ opinions was the fact that “it takes two to tango,” and “supposed journalist” Zakaria didn’t challenge his propositions on the “American fascist dictatorship” forwarded by Fox News– “Zakaria didn’t ask a single question.”

At this point O’Reilly and Goldberg’s comments flew past each other a good deal, as O’Reilly was fixated with the reasoning behind Soros’ behavior, while Zakaria was far more interesting to Goldberg. O’Reilly argued that many who used similar rhetoric on the right are “in business to do that” and “are making money doing it,” but Soros didn’t need that. “Aren’t there drugs you want to give out for free?” he asked of Soros. Goldberg’s reaction to this was merely that he spoke what he believed to be the truth and Soros, as a private citizen with little influence as a speaker in the media, was not nearly as important as Zakaria in this context. “Zakaria is supposedly a journalist,” Goldberg concluded, “and a journalist just doesn’t sit there like a bump on a log when someone is making crazy statements like that.”

The Diminished Relevance Of Media Matters: Fox News Insider Story Largely Ignored

The consequences of speaking to an echo chamber is you need more people (or in this case better "sources") in order for anyone to take you seriously:
Last Thursday, Media Matters published an extensive (and somewhat breathless) account from an anonymously sourced individual that was only identified as a former Fox News Insider. The report included lots of detail that alleged Fox News’ bias, with pithy quotes like “they’re a propaganda outfit but they call themselves news” and “stuff is just made up,” and was clearly intended as a scathing indictment of Media Matters’ mortal enemy, Fox News.

While the story made some ripples in like minded sites like Think Progress and The Young Turks, the story made barely any mention in mainstream news outlets, and ended up serving as a stark reminder of Media Matters’ growing irrelevance in the world of media criticism.

The report, written by Eric Boehlert, was likely seen by the progressive media watchdog group as a coup de grâce in their war against Fox News. The opening sentences give a clear indication of the direction, and point, of the article:

Asked what most viewers and observers of Fox News would be surprised to learn about the controversial cable channel, a former insider from the world of Rupert Murdoch was quick with a response: “I don’t think people would believe it’s as concocted as it is; that stuff is just made up.”

Indeed, a former Fox News employee who recently agreed to talk with Media Matters confirmed what critics have been saying for years about Murdoch’s cable channel. Namely, that Fox News is run as a purely partisan operation, virtually every news story is actively spun by the staff, its primary goal is to prop up Republicans and knock down Democrats, and that staffers at Fox News routinely operate without the slightest regard for fairness or fact checking.

“It is their M.O. to undermine the administration and to undermine Democrats,” says the source. “They’re a propaganda outfit but they call themselves news.”

The story continues to explain the reasoning, process and evolution of how news and opinion intermingle on Fox News. But for reasons that aren’t entirely clear, the provocative article was almost entirely ignored by the mainstream media. When reached by Mediaite, Ari Rabin-Havt, Executive Vice President at Media Matters, claimed the impact of the article was significant.

“More than 200,000 people read the story on MediaMatters.org this in itself shows the broad interest in this story.”

Regardless of the actual numbers, imagine if this report had appeared on another site, such as Salon, Slate (or even, say Mediaite), there would likely have been some pick-up from various cable news outlets, websites, and newspapers.

Why would such a provocative and interesting piece get lost in shuffle? Perhaps because, in the current hyper-partisan landscape of opinion media (and watchdogs) it’s difficult to take seriously a post that alleges that “stuff is just made up” from a story that is unwilling to identify its source. Boehlert’s lack of a primary focus on journalism (versus agenda) undercuts the story as well as the fact that his sourcing narrative is often confusing (at one point, it seems as though he’s referencing two different sources), and he fails to negotiate an attribution that would help the reader judge its credibility. Was this an on-air personality? An intern? A producer? Did this source leave Fox recently? Based on Boehlert’s attribution, the source could be Keith Olbermann as far as the reader knows.

George Soros Throws President Obama Under the Bus to Progressive Donors

Mediaite.com:
Kajillionaire activist, Media Matters funder, and to hear Glenn Beck tell it, Puppetmaster of the coming One World Government George Soros is reportedly pulling on some strings. According to reporting by HuffPo’s Sam Stein, Soros told a private gathering of progressive donors that “Democratic donors (should) direct their support somewhere other than the President.”

An adviser for Soros later told Stein that Soros was not suggesting a primary challenge to President Obama, but given the gurgling to that effect over at Fox News, that denial is not likely to carry too far.

From The Huffington Post:

According to multiple sources with knowledge of his remarks, Soros told those in attendance that he is “used to fighting losing battles but doesn’t like to lose without fighting.”

“We have just lost this election, we need to draw a line,” he said, according to several Democratic sources. “And if this president can’t do what we need, it is time to start looking somewhere else.”

…”Mr. Soros fully supports the president as the leader of the Democratic Party,” said (Soros adviser Michael) Vachon. “He was not suggesting that we seek another candidate for 2012. His comments were made in a private, informal conversation that was about the need for progressives to be more forceful in promoting their agenda. He was stressing the importance of being heard by elected officials.”

The frustration liberals and progressives are feeling toward the Obama administration has mainly to do with the weak signals the White House has been sending about standing up to the post-midterm Congressional Republicans. Vachon’s denial aside, perhaps administration fear of a primary challenge isn’t the worst thing in the world for progressives. As a practical matter, though, it is extremely unlikely that the Democrats would challenge their own incumbent, and certainly not two years out from the Presidemtial election.

Still, the fact that such a move would be political suicide for progressives probably suits Glenn Beck just fine, so look for Beck and other right-of-center media types to puff as much air as possible into this report.
Fail to toe the line and they start looking elsewhere.

What Present Did George Soros Personally Send Glenn Beck?

Part 2

Mediaite.com:
Glenn Beck has been spending a lot of time talking up his exposé on George Soros which began today and it did not disappoint. Nothing that begins with the dramatic lines “83 years ago, George Soros was born. Little did the world know, then, that economy’s would collapse, currencies would become worthless, elections would be stolen, regimes would fall, and one billionaire would find himself, coincidentally, at the center of it all” ever could. But, at the end of today’s long Soros biography, Beck revealed an interesting anecdote: Soros once sent him a present, a copy of A Face in the Crowd on DVD.

For those that don’t know, A Face in the Crowd is a 1957 film directed by Elia Kazan, whom Beck calls “a communist” (which is a bit of healthy oversimplification). It stars Andy Griffith as Lonesome Rhodes, a fraud of a man whose down-home persona brings him great fame on radio and then television but is later caught insulting his own audience. Soros isn’t the first person to make the comparison to Beck, as it’s a favorite of Keith Olbermann. However, on today’s show, Beck responded to the comparison, promising that he is “not Lonesome Rhodes.”

Check out the video of the story below, which begins with a meeting between one of Fox News’ execs and one of Soros’ higher-ups, and continues with video of some of Beck’s Soros takedown (from FNC):
