Barack Obama vs. The GOP

I'm highly in favor of this kind of open debate, let's the American people see both sides of the political aisle get a fair shake in sharing thoughts and ideas. But Barry was clearly more prepared here and he has experience of 20 debates on the presidential campaign trail . The GOP failed to call him out on his radically-Left agenda and allowed Barry to school them on their policy critiques. Next time (if there is a next time) the GOP should bring in Judd Gregg and/or Scott Brown to go heads up against Barry.

Atheist Group Blasts Postal Service For Mother Teresa Stamp

NYDailyNews.com:
An atheist organization is up in arms over the U.S. Postal Service’s plans to honor Mother Teresa with a commemorative stamp, claiming that her religious vocation excludes her from such an tribute under Postal Service regulations.

The organization,
Freedom from Religion Foundation, is encouraging its supporters to boycott the stamp on the grounds that postal stamps cannot honor “individuals whose principal achievements are associated with religious undertakings,” according to FoxNews.com.

Annie Laurie Gaylor, a spokeswoman from the foundation, feels that Mother Teresa’s charitable work is inextricably linked to her status as a religious figure. “You can’t really separate her from being a nun and being a Roman Catholic from everything she did,” Gaylor told FoxNews.com.
Once again, blame Barry. After all it was our very liberal Teleprompter-in-Chief who injected atheists (thereby empowering the Godless lot) in his Inauguration speech last year. Mother Teresa certainly merits her own stamp. The woman devoted her life to bringing awareness and relief to the poor and suffering. If any anti-God liberal doesn't like her getting a stamp, there's a simple solution: don't buy it. Idiots.

Obama Pulls The Plug On KSM Trial For New York City

NYTimes.com:
The Obama administration on Friday gave up on its plan to try the Sept. 11 plotters in Lower Manhattan, bowing to almost unanimous pressure from New York officials and business leaders to move the terrorism trial elsewhere.

“I think I can acknowledge the obvious,” an administration official said. “We’re considering other options.”

The reversal on whether to try the alleged 9/11 terrorists blocks from the former World Trade Center site seemed to come suddenly this week, after Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg abandoned his strong support for the plan and said the cost and disruption would be too great.

But behind the brave face that many New Yorkers had put on for weeks, resistance had been gathering steam.

After a dinner in New York on Dec. 14, Steven Spinola, president of the Real Estate Board of New York, pulled aside David Axelrod, President Obama’s closest adviser, to convey an urgent plea: move the 9/11 trial out of Manhattan.

More recently, in a series of presentations to business leaders, local elected officials and community representatives of Chinatown, Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly laid out his plan for securing the trial: blanketing a swath of Lower Manhattan with police checkpoints, vehicle searches, rooftop snipers and canine patrols.

“They were not received well,” said one city official.

And on Tuesday, in a meeting Mr. Bloomberg had with at least two dozen federal judges on the eighth floor of their Manhattan courthouse, one judge raised the question of security. The mayor, according to several people present, said he was sure the courthouse could be made safe, but that it would be costly and difficult.

Dumb, stupid idea to begin with. But that's what happens when you put the keys to the ignition in the hands of liberals.

Samuel Alito Was Right, Barack Obama Was Wrong

Newsmax.com:
The president's open scolding of the judicial branch — and Alito's response — triggered a sharp reaction from conservatives as well.

"I tell you, this is why people are disenchanted and are becoming more and more disengaged really from what their government is doing," former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin told Fox News' Sean Hannity. "Because when we see an issue like this, words spoken that may not be true, coming from our president and embarrassing our Supreme Court and not respecting the separation of powers, we have a problem. And that is illustrated there by that justice mouthing those words, 'Not true.'"

"The president’s swipe at the Supreme Court was a breach of decorum," wrote election-law expert Bradley A. Smith of the Center for Competitive Politics wrote on National Review's The Corner, “and represents the worst of Washington politics — scapegoating ‘special interest’ bogeymen for all that ails Washington in attempt to silence the diverse range of speakers in our democracy.”

A broad range of experts challenged the accuracy of the president's assertions Thursday.

The Politifact.org fact-checking organizing evaluated Obama's statements and determined they were "barely true," adding, "We found Obama was exaggerating the impact of the ruling."

The president, who taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago before he ran for the U.S. Senate, was wrong on two counts, Judicial Watch's Fitton said: There was no century-old precedent in the case, and the ruling did not alter restrictions involving electioneering by foreign-based companies.
Once again, Barry lies. It is not established that domestic and foreign corporations can now have free reign regarding political contributions, given other prohibitions currently in place. Barry broke protocol and disrespected SCOTUS to their face all because of a ruling that he didn't like. What an arrogant SOB.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg Opposes 9/11 Trials Being Held In NYC

NYTimes.com:

The dispute over a trial location, touched off when Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg of New York complained of costs and disruption, threatened to reopen the divisive question of how those accused of plotting the murder of more than 3,000 Americans should be brought to justice.

Republicans in the Senate and House said they would try to block financing for civilian criminal trials for the alleged terrorists, seeking to force the administration to place them on trial before a military commission in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, or on a military base elsewhere.

Opponents of civilian trials said they hoped new doubts about a New York trial and increased fears of terrorism since the attempted airliner bombing on Christmas Day would win more Democratic support for such measures.

The apparent collapse of what had seemed since November to be a settled decision to hold the trial in lower Manhattan was clear when New York’s senior senator, Charles E. Schumer, a Democrat, said on Thursday that he was encouraging the Obama administration “to find suitable alternatives.”

While Barry and his liberal minions praised this move, common sense and compassion, have shown us the depths of the Left's stupidity. Of course, Barry could overrule Eric Holder's idiot decision to hold the 9/11 trials right in the heart of New York City, but what does he care? Barry didn't campaign on stopping terror, but he's certainly had no problem showing how much he supports coddling terrorists, not to mention giving them the same rights as your average American. Now one the largest cities in the country, a city that overwhelmingly supported Barry in '08, a city still reeling from 9/11, doesn't know what to make of him now that he's spit in their face.

John And Elizabeth Edwards Announce Separation

YahooNews.com:
Elizabeth Edwards stood faithfully by her husband even after she learned he had an affair on the campaign trail while she battled cancer. She recently described the "slow process" of trying to rebuild her trust in him.

Her struggle to reconcile the marriage appeared near its end with word Wednesday that she and her husband of more than 30 years have separated.

The news came a week after John Edwards admitted fathering a child with his mistress, Rielle Hunter, and as details emerged from a book by a former aide describing the lengths the former presidential candidate took to try hiding his misdeeds from his wife, family and the American public.

Elizabeth Edwards, 60, declined to comment through a friend, Andrea Purse, who confirmed the separation. But Elizabeth's sister told The Associated Press that she remains strong.

"She's doing as well as you could expect," Nancy Anania said. "I'm really proud of her that, somehow, she's got strength that you rarely see in a person."

Elizabeth Edwards should've left her bastard of a husband the minute she found he was cheating on her. But she didn't and instead chose to participate in a bold-face lie, scamming voters on the campaign trail to the tune of millions while pretending that her lying, cheat of a husband was a stand-up guy. Some idiots may still want to feel sorry for Elizabeth, but my guess is that the millions that John Edwards raked in from his trial lawyer days (as well as other assorted scams) will keep Elizabeth comfortable.

Angry Black Woman Michelle Obama Tells Congress To "Sit Down" While Applauding Her Efforts

Damn, how rude. But then we've long known that nothing makes Michelle Obama happy, especially having to take a back seat at home while Barry runs a country. Any wonder why Barry's always out of the house or letting off steam at the golf course, look at what he has to come home to every night. What a miserable woman.

Obama's State of the Union Speech: "Stay the Course and Blame Bush"

First, Virginia Governor Bob McConnell's response to Barry was terrific and to the point in calling for lesser government and showing that the GOP isn't the "Party of No" that the Left would like you to believe it is.

Secondly, the irony that Hillary Clinton was picked as the designated as the Cabinet member in absence (in case all hell breaks out), just struck me as well.....
weird.

Lastly, Barry delivered a SOTU that was way too long (no surprise there considering how much man loves to hear himself talk), listless and full of "stay the course" rhetoric that clearly shows this guy still doesn't get it. Then too, Barry had the nerve to diss the Supreme Court to their faces (Justice Alito's response was priceless), promise to repeal a "don't ask, don't tell" law that our military leaders oppose, took below-the-belt shots at the GOP and once again blamed President Bush for all the evils in the world, yunno the ones he "inherited". Typical. Thank goodness, come this November, Americans will have the opportunity to show that they've had enough of Barry's pompous dog-n-pony act.

Rep. Joe Wilson To Deliver GOP Response To Obama State Of The Union

Counton2.com:

The South Carolina congressman who made ‘you lie’ one of the top quotes of 2009 will use Facebook to respond to President Obama’s first State of the Union.

According to a press release sent by Wilson’s office, he will give his reaction to Mr. Obama’s speech and call on Congress and the President to stop “their government-takeover of health care and instead focus their attention on job creation by reducing taxes and limiting spending.“ Wilson will then take questions submitted online through his Facebook page.

“Joe Wilson is using every tool at his disposal to get Washington to start listening to the American people,“ said Wilson Campaign Manager, Dustin Olson. “Whether on Facebook or over coffee in South Carolina diners, Joe Wilson is taking the message of everyday Americans to Washington: ‘Stop growing government and start growing jobs.“

Clever move by the GOP. Besides maybe John McCain, I couldn't think of a person better suited to respond to Barry's lies tonight.

Bristol Palin Tells Oprah That She Won't Have Sex Again Until She's Married

Once again, Oprah opines from a liberal perspective. Conservatives shoot for moral standards to better themselves, understanding that they may fail. While liberals say "Why try? You might fail!"

Misunderstanding this, liberals call those who fail "hypocrites," while they themselves are immune to the charge because they believe that there are no such standards to try to live up to. Thus, liberals are really upset at Bristol Palin for promoting a standard they don't believe exists in the first place.

Peer pressure, lack of support and ridicule are the reasons that abstinence-only sex education hasn't worked more. And the fact that Bristol is willing to take a stand and try should be supported regardless if she ends up failing or not.

James O'Keefe, ACORN Fraud Buster, Arrested For Wiretapping

CBSNews.com:
James O'Keefe, the filmmaker best known for his documentary exposing problems at the left wing activist group ACORN is now explaining his latest scheme to federal authorities.

According to a federal affidavit, O'Keefe admitted to working with three other men: Joseph Basel, Robert Flanagan and Stan Dai to pose as telephone repairmen and gain access to Senator Mary Landrieu's (D-LA)office in New Orleans.

Court documents show that while O'Keefe sat in the Senator's waiting room, Flanagan and Basel entered the federal building in what appeared to be telephone repairmen uniforms, "blue denim pants, a blue work shirt, a light fluorescent green vest, a tool belt, and carrying white, construction-style hard hat." They then allegedly asked to fiddle with the phones in Landrieu's office while O'Keefe filmed them with his cell phone.

After Basel allegedly took the handset off the reception phone and manipulated it, Basel and Flanagan asked to see the main telephone system according to court documents. When asked for identification, the two said they were employees of a telephone company and had left their credentials in their truck.

A receptionist at Landrieu's office was asked how they were caught and told CBS, "Let's just say the outfits were less than convincing."
Well, this was dumb. But then liberals could use some good news so I'm sure O'Keefe's arrest will get plenty of attention.

Anti-Life Feminists Attack Tim Tebow For Participating In Pro-Life Ad During Super Bowl

NYDailyNews.com:

Tim Tebow hasn’t even made it to the NFL, but his Super Bowl ad is already creating controversy.

Several women’s groups have argued that the spot, which is believed to be a pro-life ad featuring Tebow and his mother, is an advocacy ad and is inappropriate for Super Sunday.

“An ad that uses sports to divide rather than to unite has no place in the biggest national sports event of the year - an event designed to bring Americans together,” said Jehmu Greene, president of the New York-based Women’s Media Center.

Also joining Women’s Media Center in the protest are the National Organization for Women and the Feminist Majority.

A CBS spokesman said the script for the 30-second ad has been approved and did not feel that any protest would have an impact.

The Tebow advertisement “Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life” is sponsored by the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family, and is thought to revolve around the story of Pam Tebow.

Pam Tebow will likely recount how she became ill while pregnant with her fifth son during a mission in the Philippines. Ignoring doctors’ suggestions to abort the child, she gave birth to Tim who went on to become the celebrated Florida Gators quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner.

Feminists hate conservative women, especially conservative women who choose to give life. Of course, this screams in the face of mothers of radical feminists, whose choice to give them life is the sole reason they have the ability to be around today to yell at Tim Tebow.

Liberal President Obama To Attack "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" In State of the Union Speech

Reuters.com:

During his 2008 campaign for the presidency, Obama vowed to end the rule discriminating against gays and he renewed that pledge in a speech last year.

"We were told by the Pentagon that they expected the president to say something in the State of the Union on it," said Senator Carl Levin, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, referring to the speech Obama will deliver on Wednesday evening to a joint session of the U.S. Congress.

But Levin added: "I have no idea" what Obama will say.

The rule, which dates to the presidency of Bill Clinton, requires homosexuals to keep quiet about their true sexual orientation if they want to be in the U.S. military. It also stops recruiters or commanders from asking members of the armed forces whether they are gay.

It was a compromise signed into law by Clinton in 1993 after the military objected to his calls for welcoming openly gay Americans into their ranks.

Folks shouldn't believe for second that Barry has learned anything from his failed 1st year in office. This is a man who is only interested in garnering benefits for one-fifth of the population that calls themselves "liberals", instead of the entire populate that he was elected to serve.

Actor Scott Baio Receives Death Threats After Making Joke About Michele Obama

FOXNews.com:

Former “Happy Days” star Scott Baio claims he has been barraged with death threats and accused of being a racist after posting an unflattering photo of Michelle Obama on Twitter along with the caption “WOW He wakes up to this every morning.”

Outraged users reportedly responded with angry Tweets such as “Scott Baio should be PUT DOWN and someone will PUT YOU DOWN.YOU; your WIFE and KID." Another Tweeter even went as far as to alter an image of Baio’s young child with the caption “this is what Scott Baio wakes up [to]." That photo has since been removed.

The controversy began after Baio had been Tweeting support for Massachusetts Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown Wednesday. He then decided to post the photo of Obama, before insisting it was all intended to be good fun.

"For New followers: I POST A LOT OF JOKES WITH PICS. They are JUST that, a joke. NOT targeting anyone. Laughter IS the best medicine."

The actor was also quick to defend himself from accusations that he was racist.

“I'm NOT racist for posting a pic of M.O. My WIFE'S BEST FRD IS BLACK, HELLO,” he Tweeted. “If YOU are born in AMERICA, U ARE AN AMERICAN. I don't insist on being called Italian-American. Therefore Black Amer are not Afr-Amer. Or that would mean people (white or black) born in Africa would be called African-Africans ... Just a thought to think about… If I'm racist, don't think I would have Directed shows like The Parkers & The Wayans Bros. or worked 41 eps w/ Victoria Rowell on D.Murder.”

Amazing. So it's ok for Black comedians like Tracy Morgan to make dirty jokes about Michelle Obama, but a white dude catches grief for a lame diss? Plus unlike some real yahoos out there, Baio didn't take a photo of Michelle and doctor it, he used an unflattering photo that already existed and made a funny, albeit juvenile joke. Granted Baio may be an idiot for the using the all-too-common "my best friend is black so...." excuse to defend himself, but racist? Really now. But then if Baio was smart enough (Chachi was never known for his brains) he could've deflected the unwarranted grief by asking those who sent him death threats how they felt about Bill "A few years ago this would've been getting up coffee" Clinton and Harry "He is a light skinned African American with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one" Reid--now that would've been interesting. Liberals and their double standards make you laugh sometimes.

Gallup: Obama Most Polarizing President Ever

Newsmax.com:
President Barack Obama is the most polarizing president in American history, according to a poll released by the Gallup organization Monday.

The average difference in Obama's approval ratings between Democrats and Republicans turned out to be 65 percent -- the highest first-year gap of any president so measured.

"The extraordinary level of polarization in Obama's first year in office is a combination of declining support from Republicans coupled with high and sustained approval from Democrats," Gallup's Jeffrey Jones reported.

Obama's 88 percent approval rating from Democrats is the second highest level of party support for a first-year president, trailing only the 92 percent Republican support for George W. Bush in 2001.

On the other hand, Obama's 23 percent rating among Republicans is tied for lowest party rating of a rookie president, matching GOP "backing" of Bill Clinton back in 1993.

There's also the question of whether Obama is a polarizing president -- or is only the latest president in a polarized era, USA Today pointed out.

"Prior to Ronald Reagan, no president averaged more than a 40-point gap in approval ratings by party during his term," said the Gallup report. "Since then, only the elder George Bush has averaged less than a 50-point gap."
This isn't about a divided country as much as it should be looked as another sign of how much Barry only serves the interests of the Far-Left. Barry has broken his campaign promise of transparency time and time again, threatened moderate Democrats and turned his back on uniting the country, all in an attempt to get his liberal agenda passed. But it hasn't worked and angry independents in Virginia, New Jersey and most recently Massachusetts have their voices heard. Thus, after a miserable first year in office, no one should be surprised at Barry being so polarizing.

Liberals Go Crazy Over Supreme Court Easing Campaign Finance Rules

I don't know if this is a victory for conservatives so much as another display of how much power Justice Another Kennedy yields from the bench. With 4 decided conservatives (Roberts, Alito, Scalia & Thomas) on one side and 4 liberals (Ginsburg, Stevens, Breyer & Sotomayor) on the other, Kennedy remains SCOTUS' swing vote and more often than not, he sides with the conservatives. That said, considering the billions Barry got for his own Presidential campaign I don't know what he's complaining about here. Then too with all the rage liberals are hurling at this decision, I'm sure a majority of them would love nothing more than for something to happen to Kennedy soon so Barry can replace him with another "leftist stalwart".
