Michael Moore, Hypocrite, Warns Dems On How They Can Lose Election

You just knew it was only a matter of time before the King of the Wackjobs put his two cents in on McCain vs. Barack:

Washington, Aug 13 (Prensa Latina) Democrats may lose the most winnable election in American history, warned filmmaker Michael Moore today in the website carrying his name.

For years, nearly every poll has shown that American people are synchronized with the platform of the Democratic Party. Issues like the pro-environment, pro-women´s rights and pro-choice, have popular backing.

They don´t like war, they want the minimum wage raised and a single-payer, universal health-care system, adds Moore about Democrat-voters affinity.

But Democrats appear to be professional losers, says Moore who believes they even lose when they win. The director of Oscar-winning “Bowling for Columbine” and "Fahrenheit 9/11" warns that Democrats and liberals and supporters of Barack Obama are now saying they are worried that John McCain has a good chance of winning.

This from the man who once announced that "there is no terrorist threat", voted for Ralph Nader in 2000 and whose propagandist flick "F9/11" led to a revolt by GOP voters that helped defeat John Kerry in 2004. No, it's not Moore's fault Dems lost the last two presidential elections, no sir, he had nothing to do with it. What an arrogant prick.

Colin Powell To Endorse Barack Obama?

Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol repeated Thursday that sources have told him they expect former Secretary of State Colin Powell will endorse Barack Obama , though the former secretary of state has denied reports that he will speak at the Democratic National Convention.

“We all talk to people who talk to people and there are people close to the Obama campaign in the course of conversations who made clear to me that there was very high level discussions. … The Obama people expect Powell to endorse him,” Kristol told FOX News.

In a FOX News exclusive Wednesday, Kristol, a regular contributor, said inside sources suggested Powell would show up in Denver in the week of Aug. 25 specifically to back the presumptive presidential nominee.

“He may well give a speech at the Democratic convention explaining his endorsement of Obama,” Kristol said, citing the sources.

Listen, I like Bill Kristol, but to be fair anyone whose been paying attention to Kristol of late knows that he's not exactly the most reliable source for breaking news. Then too, while Colin Powell has been publicly leaning Left (criticizing the war in Iraq, implying that the response to Hurricane Katrina was racist and even going so far as to tell CNN News that "I will vote for the candidate I think can do the best job in America -- whether that candidate is a Republican or Democrat or an independent") of late, his influence was waned considerably since he stepped down as Secretary of State on 2005. Yet, a Powell endorsement for Barack would still be a huge coup for Barack, if only for his name recognition as well as how much he's meant to the Republican party going way back to Reagan. Shame on Powell if he crosses party lines and sells the GOP out.

New York Times Attacks Anti-Obama Book's Author

For years, the New York Times has praised misleading books from liberal authors attacking President Bush and the war in Iraq: Tomes by Michael Moore, Seymour Hersh, Kitty Kelley, Richard Clarke, Jane Mayer, and Ron Suskind (who has also reported for the paper) -- too many to mention. Yet when a wildly successful book appears that attacks the Times's favored candidate, Democrat nominee Barack Obama, the paper unloads a front-page pushback against the "unsubstantiated, misleading...inaccurate" book.

From Wednesday's front page story by reporters Jim Rutenberg and Julie Bosman, "Book Attacking Obama Hopes To Repeat '04 Anti-Kerry Feat":

In the summer of 2004 the conservative gadfly Jerome R. Corsi shot to the top of the best-seller lists as co-author of "Unfit for Command," the book attacking Senator John Kerry's record on a Vietnam War Swift boat that began the larger damaging campaign against Mr. Kerry's war credentials as he sought the presidency.

Almost exactly four years after that campaign began, Mr. Corsi has released a new attack book painting Senator Barack Obama, the Democrats' presumed presidential nominee, as a stealth radical liberal who has tried to cover up "extensive connections to Islam" -- Mr. Obama is Christian -- and questioning whether his admitted experimentation with drugs in high school and college ever ceased.

But to describe Barack Obama as a "stealth radical liberal" is pretty FAIR when you took as his record which pretty much sums him up as a.....stealth radical liberal. Again, what liberal press?

Mark David Chapman Denied Parole

Good:

John Lennon's killer, Mark David Chapman, was denied parole for the fifth time Tuesday.

The New York State Division of Parole issued a release saying Chapman's request was denied "due to concern for the public safety and welfare."

Chapman, 53, is serving a sentence of 20 years to life in prison for shooting to death the former Beatle outside his New York City apartment on December 8, 1980.

The killer has served 24 years of his sentence at the maximum-security Attica Correctional Facility and was previously turned down by the New York State division of parole in 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006.

Chapman is held in a building with other prisoners who are not considered to pose a threat to him, according to officials with the state Department of Correctional Services. He has his own prison cell but spends most of his day outside the cell working on housekeeping and in the library.

For the past 16 years he has received conjugal visits with his wife, Gloria. The visits are part of a state program called "family reunion" that allows inmates to spend up to 44 hours at a time with family members in a special setting.

I read about this story yesterday and was particularly upset to learn that this notorious convicted killer, already enjoying the good life in jail (which includes the opportunity to have sex with his wife every year), was about to get another chance to get out of prison. I'm no believer in the death penalty and I certainly can't stand the iconic worship liberals have for Lennon, but what's right is right and Mark David Chapman should never be allowed freedom again.

Hillary Camp Still Whining, Now Blaming John Edwards For Loss

In case you hadn't heard the Clinton campaign is now blaming disgraced former presidential candidate John Edwards for Billary's loss:

Hillary Clinton's supporters gave a fresh glimpse yesterday of their lingering resentment over her defeat by claiming that she would have won the Democratic presidential nomination if John Edwards had confessed his affair earlier.

Howard Wolfson, her former communications director, suggested that the lie Mr Edwards told last year over his adulterous relationship with Rielle Hunter had lasting effects because it enabled him to stay in the race at a crucial time.

The Iowa caucuses, which kicked off the nomination process in January, saw Mrs Clinton finish third, narrowly behind second-placed Mr Edwards and the victorious Barack Obama. Although she staged a comeback a few days later in New Hampshire, her campaign never properly recovered its former poise and momentum.

Mr Wolfson said that without Mr Edwards complicating the contest “we would have won Iowa, and Clinton today would therefore have been the nominee”.

So despite the fact that Billary herself never gave Iowa any serious thought and finished a distant third in the race, now it's John Edwards' fault she loss the primary....the media, sexism, Mark Penn, etc. Will it ever be that Obama just ran a better campaign?

Rep. Jane Harman, D-California, spoke before a House panel investigating the way the military handles reports of sexual assault.

She said she recently visited a Veterans Affairs hospital in the Los Angeles area, where women told her horror stories of being raped in the military.

"My jaw dropped when the doctors told me that 41 percent of the female veterans seen there say they were victims of sexual assault while serving in the military," said Harman, who has long sought better protection of women in the military.

"Twenty-nine percent say they were raped during their military service. They spoke of their continued terror, feelings of helplessness and downward spirals many of their lives have taken since.

"We have an epidemic here," she said. "Women serving in the U.S. military today are more likely to be raped by a fellow soldier than killed by enemy fire in Iraq."

As of July 24, 100 women had died in Iraq, according to the Pentagon.

No one is disputing that there is a problem regarding sexual assaults in the military. And if victims are afraid to speak out or feel that their stories aren't being taken seriously enough, this needs to be addressed and corrective measures need to be implemented immediately. But the last thing the military needs are liberal politicians like Harman looking to score points with their base by going hyperbole with ridiculous remarks that stereotype our troops as being nothing but sexual predators.
