Court Forces "Gay Marriage" On New Jersey

Doesn't matter what the people think in Obama's Godless America:

Same-sex marriages can begin within days in New Jersey after the state's highest court ruled unanimously Friday to uphold an order that they must start Monday and to deny a delay that had been sought by Gov. Chris Christie's administration.

The ruling puts New Jersey on the cusp of becoming the 14th state — and the third most populous among them — to allow same-sex marriage. As of Monday, one-third of Americans will live in a place where gay marriage is legal.

"The state has advanced a number of arguments, but none of them overcome this reality: Same-sex couples who cannot marry are not treated equally under the law today," the court said in an opinion by Chief Justice Stuart Rabner. "The harm to them is real, not abstract or speculative."

A judge on a lower court had ruled last month that New Jersey must recognize same-sex marriage and set Monday as the date to allow weddings. Christie, a Republican who is considered a possible 2016 presidential candidate, appealed the decision and asked for the start date to be put on hold while the state appeals.

A spokesman for Christie said that he will comply with the ruling, though he doesn't like it.

"While the governor firmly believes that this determination should be made by all the people of the State of New Jersey, he has instructed the Department of Health to cooperate with all municipalities in effectuating the order," spokesman Michael Drewniak said in a statement.

Same-sex marriage is being debated elsewhere. Oregon has begun recognizing same-sex weddings performed out of state, and it is likely that voters will get a chance next year to repeal the state's constitutional ban on gay marriage. The Hawaii Legislature also soon could take up a bill to legalize same-sex unions, while a similar measure has passed the Illinois Senate but not the House. Lawsuits challenging gay marriage bans also are pending in several states, including Michigan, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Anthony Weiner Blames Internet For NYC Mayoral Race

What an idiot:

In an interview with GQ magazine former Congressman and NYC Mayoral Candidate Anthony Weiner is blaming his pathetic loss last month, where he raked in less than 5 percent of the vote, on the internet.

The “if” is far bigger than Anthony Weiner’s dangerous appetite for sexting, but the failed mayoral candidate says he’d be mayor if it weren’t for the Internet.
“Maybe if the Internet didn’t exist? Like, if I was running in 1955? I’d probably get elected mayor,” Weiner said, wishing it were the era of Robert Wagner Jr. in an interview for GQ magazine’s November issue.

First off, thanks to the internet, Weiner didn't have to run around the streets in a trench coat flashing women, instead he did it from the comfort of his own home surrounded by cats. Second, why GQ would decide to do a profile feature on Anthony Weiner, who is neither GQ material nor a gentleman, is beyond me. Here is their explaination:

[Huma]’s more sensitive. I’m just an empty, soulless vessel, so it doesn’t hurt me as much.”

Chris Matthews Reveals MSNBC Hosts, Anchors Under ‘Group Pressure’ to Be More Partisan

In a wide-ranging interview with Ora.TV host Larry King, MSNBC host Chris Matthews admitted that the hosts on the liberal cable news network are under “group pressure” to display a more liberal partisan slant. He added that this directive is not unique to MSNBC. Other cable networks, Matthews said, are under the same pressure to exhibit personality and display their points of view.


“I’m watching Fox,” Matthews told King. “Will Megyn Kelly be able to stay in the middle or will she move over? Will she have to move over? Look at Greta [Van Susteren]. Greta was more center-left now she’s moved over.”

“There’s a lot of group pressure in those places,” he added. “In any place you work.”

When asked if there was any pressure on him specifically to be more openly partisan, Matthews said that there was. “Oh, I feel it,” he said. “I think it’s there.”

“I think you know your audience,” Matthews added. “I always know who I’m talking to. But I always want to keep a chunk of Republicans as well as Democrats.”

Man Who Raised Adrian Peterson's Slain Child: There Should Be No Sympathy for Biological Dad

You're always sorry for the loss of a child, but the way this man handles business in his personal life, in this case it's just hard to have any sympathy for him:

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson just recently found out via a DNA test that the two-year-old son that was recently beaten to death by the live-in boyfriend of the child's mother was in fact his son. 

Peterson saw the child for the first time on his death bed, and the man who claims he raised Peterson's child lashed out at Peterson on Facebook, saying nobody should feel sympathy for a father who never even knew his son. 

"So tired of this poor Adrian Peterson s**t. Let me blow all your minds," Bobby Ruffin posted on Facebook, according to TMZ. "The boy who died was my son. Yes AP was the biological father but I raised him and he carried my name. Tyrese Robert Ruffin."

Ruffin said they "both found out recently who the biological father was. AP met my son for the first time yest [sic] when my son was already in coma."

He then blasted Peterson for not being by his child's bedside until the last moments of his life.
"I was here today when we pulled the plug, not him,"

Joseph Patterson, the man with a history of domestic abuse who beat the child, has been arrested.

House Approves Legislation To End Shutdown, Reopen Government

The House of Representatives late Wednesday night passed a Senate-brokered bill to fully reopen the government and raise the federal government's debt ceiling.

Weeks of bitter stalemate gave way to a frenetic few hours of legislative action Wednesday to address the federal government's latest budgetary crisis -- an episode marked by rare bipartisanship, but also the very real prospect of more fights to come.

The relatively rapid movement, by congressional standards, came on the 16th day of the partial government shutdown and one day before the Treasury Department had warned the nation could run out of money to pay its bills unless it raises its borrowing limit.

If legislation brokered by Democratic and Republican leaders in the Senate gets to his desk, President Barack Obama has vowed to get things back up and running as soon as possible.

"I will sign it immediately," the President said. "We'll begin reopening our government immediately."

No Women Of Color In (Liberal) Esquire Magazine's 'Final Four' Beauties

Esquire magazine, known for its liberal proclivities, posted a quiz today, done in tandem with NBC News, where one can determine one's standing in the political spectrum -- and if one fits into the 'new American center' over which the spread gushes. A conservative who takes the quiz will likely see the following, not-so-subtly-insulting result (which yours truly received after taking the quiz):

"It's Official: You're One Of The Talk Radio Heads.... You are not part of the New American Center."

Hmm, ok. All that's missing is: "You are not modern. You are terribly backwards. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200."

Hot on the heels of its quiz, however, we have Esquire's 'final four' competition of 'women you love most'!

Normally this would be inconsequential, but as NRO contributor Greg Pollowitz points out on Twitter: noticeably missing from the final four? Any women of color. That's right -- no African-American women, no Latinas, no Asian women, etc.

The final four are instead three blue-eyed blondes and a brunette Polish-American. (Recently, the magazine chose another blond-hair, blue-eyed beauty, Scarlett Johansson, as its sexist woman alive -- for the second time.)

Seriously, Esquire? It's 2013. Your spread looks like a 'final four' bracket from the 1940's.

Now, I'm not one to pull out the diversity, 'let's count how many women of color are represented in a film!' card. But liberals are: thus, their hypocrisy is worth pointing out.

We see the Left's do-as-I-say, not-as-I-do hypocrisy in racial representation constantly: whether it's the almost uniformly white crew of Keith Olbermann's staff; or another all-white spread in a liberal or liberal-friendly publication; or even the glaringly white Hollywood awards shows. Imagine, for a moment, if a conservative outlet had posted a list of attractive female women -- and the final four were all white. Oh, the cries of racism that would follow! 

So, dear liberals at Esquire: here's an idea. While you're writing your snarky quiz and gushing over the "new center" of American politics... how about you also focus on the "new center" of what Americans look like. Hint: It ain't Kate Upton. 

Then maybe I'll take your silly quiz seriously.

In his Monday column Politico's Roger Simon unleashed an anti-GOP rant where he accused the Republican Party of letting "racism out of the closet," accused it of waging "a war against babies" and wished death on two of its leaders Ted Cruz and John Boehner.

In his column headlined "Government shutdown unleashes racism" Simon wasted no time in attacking Republicans by putting his twist on old anti-lawyer joke: "Question: If Ted Cruz and John Boehner were both on a sinking ship, who would be saved? Answer: America." Simon then went on to accuse Cruz of "making a war against babies," as seen in the following excerpt:

Harsh? Look around you at what is happening to America and you will see harsh. I am not talking about closed parks and monuments. I am talking about the funds cut to nearly 9 million mothers and young children for food, breastfeeding support and infant formula.

That is harsh. Making a war against babies is harsh. And for what? Because Cruz, Republican senator from Texas, has grown so drunk on the sound of his own voice and so besotted with illusions of his own grandeur that he believes halting government today will propel him into the White House tomorrow?

After railing against the GOP's "Kamikaze Caucus", Simon then used one Confederate Flag waving protestor to paint an entire movement as racist:

This weekend, racism came out of the closet. (Which assumes it has ever been in the closet.)Protesters marched through the streets of Washington on Sunday with a Confederate flag and then a protester lounged against the White House fence with one. Displaying the Confederate flag in front of a home occupied by a black family was meant to send a particular, and particularly repellent, message.

MSNBC's Thomas Roberts To GOP Rep. Marsha Blackburn: ‘Do You Hate Obamacare More Than You Love Your Country?'

Why Republicans go on any MSNBC show besides Scarborough is beyond me. I mean, shouldn't they all know by now what a far-Left, race-card playing, blame-the-GOP-for-everything-wrong-with-the-country, Obama stan cesspool MSNBC is? Marsha Blackburn needs to fire her handlers or anyone in her camp who thought going on an MSNBC (who also happens to be a gay, white man) host's show was a good idea:

Things got a bit tense this morning between MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts and Republican Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn. When the former accused the later of hating Obamacare more than she loves America, the interview descended into an interruption-fest, with both sides levying accusations at one another.

Focusing on the House GOP’s latest proposal to end the shutdown by delaying Obamacare’s medical device tax for two years, Roberts noted that President Obama has declared his healthcare legislation a “non-negotiable starting point.” With that in mind, the MSNBC host asked Blackburn, “Do you agree that no matter what something needs to come from the House that still has attachments for the ACA?”

The Tennessean congresswoman responded that it’s the GOP that has repeatedly passed a budget and attempted to get the president and the Senate to the negotiating table. “We are going to take the steps to bring together components of a bill that we will send over to the Senate and be hopeful that they are going to take it up,” she said.

Roberts then inserted this doozy of a question: “Let me ask you, when it comes to Obamacare, do you hate Obamacare more than you love your country?”

As expected, that set off Blackburn: “I’ve got to tell you something. I think that comments like that, that you are making, are just incredibly inappropriate.”

Roberts volleyed back with a fiery response:

“You don’t think it’s incredibly inappropriate to shut down our government and take all the hostages of Americans that you’ve taken? No, it’s not inappropriate because you took the government hostage through the shutdown and all the American people, you’re now walking them to a cliff, the economy, and you’re going to push them over one by one based on the fact that you don’t like the ACA. That’s all it is. You don’t like the Affordable Care Act.”

“Listen to yourself!” Blackburn replied. “Just listen to the way you’re sounding. My goodness! We didn’t want a government shutdown. We don’t want a government default.”

Roberts read off a recent quote from Blackburn praising Sen. Ted Cruz for his efforts in defunding Obamacare, because accusing: “So you have been planning a shutdown since August.”

“Not at all,” Blackburn shot back. “What you are doing is so inappropriate. We didn’t want a shutdown.

What we want to do is solve problems.”

As the two continued to talk over one another, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi appeared on the screen to give her remarks, prompting Roberts to cut off the interview so that the network could air the comments.

Liberal Media Allows Sanctimonious, Godless, Reality Star Jenni "JWoww" Farley To Lecture Chris Christie On Gay Marriage

It's always funny to me when the media allows a morally-bankrupt "celebrity" to lecture conservatives on a socially divisive issue. I mean, this woman was a "star" on a reality show that denigrated Italian-Americans while serving as a cesspool for crass, debauchery and vulgarity. Yet, somehow Chris Christie is the "bad guy" for having the nerve to believe in traditional marriage and wanting the people of Jersey to vote on it. Well done:

This feud is long past the Jersey Shore. 

Reality TV star Jenni "JWoww" Farley is taking Gov. Chris Christie to task for his views on gay marriage.
In an exclusive interview with the New York Daily News, Farley 27, says, "I'm going to come after you."

"If you have a problem with two people being in love, and you're against gay marriage, I have a problem with you," says Farley. 

"What happens between two human beings has nothing to do with Chris Christie and does not affect Chris Christie," she adds. " What does affect me is when my best friend can't get married in New Jersey, and my best friend's mother, who is a lesbian, can't get married."

The former "Jersey Shore" star is promoting the third season of "Snooki & JWoww," her spinoff with Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi.

This isn't the first spat between Christie and a "Jersey Shore" cast member. Christie has never hidden his disdain for the show, saying it portrays the Garden State in a negative light. But Farley says she forgives him for that. 

"The problems that he had with me, Nicole, Vinny (Guadagnino), Pauly (Delvecchio), I've put that aside," says Farley. "He's a politician, he's able to grant these wishes for people in love. Your personal opinion should have no effect on other people's love lives, especially if you're in a position of power."

Earlier this month, Farley apologized for calling Christie "retarded" for his stance on gay marriage. 

She later clarified the context of her remarks via Twitter. 

"Caught off guard last night and said things I normally don't say. I find it disgusting people are still against gay marriage...," she wrote. "So because of that I called [Chris] Christie a name which wasn't appropriate. I do find him disgusting and judgmental. I'm for gay equality."

A state Superior Court judge denied a request Thursday by Christie's administration to delay the Oct. 21 start date for gay marriages in New Jersey until its appeal is over. 

When confronted by a diner patron during a campaign stop in Edison earlier this week, Christie had this to say, on the matter, "My view is: If you want to change it, put it on the ballot. Let everybody decide. It shouldn't be decided by courts, it shouldn't be decided by politicians in Trenton."

Thanks to Obamacare Hospitals Suffering From Mass Layoffs

When Obamacare was shoved down the throats of the American people in 2010, doctors, people in the medical industry and conservatives warned the legislation would be a major job killer and guess what? It is.

Last month we saw the Cleveland Clinic, a place Obama touted as the future of healthcare, cutting jobs in order to prepare for Obamacare.

The world-renowned Cleveland Clinic said on Wednesday it would cut jobs and slash five to six percent of its $6 billion annual budget to prepare for President Barack Obama's health reforms.
The clinic, which has treated celebrities and world leaders such as musician Lou Reed, former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and former Olympic gold medal skater Scott Hamilton, did not say how many of its 44,000 employees would be laid off. But a spokeswoman said that $330 million would be cut from its annual budget.

Now, major hospitals around the country are doing the same.

Health care providers announced more layoffs than any other industry last month — 8,128 — largely because of reductions by hospitals, according to outplacement firm Challenger Gray and Christmas. So far this year, the health care sector has announced 41,085 layoffs, the third-most behind financial and industrial companies.
Total private hospital employment is still up by 36,000 in the past 12 months, but it's down by 8,000 since April, and more staff reductions are expected into next year.
This month, Indiana University Health laid off about 900 workers as part of a move to trim its budget by $1 billion over five years. Vanderbilt plans to eliminate 1,000 jobs by the end of the year to help shave operating costs 8% a year.

During the most recent battle over the budget, it seemed like the medical device industry may get some kind of relief from Obamacare through a repeal of the medical device tax, something both Democrats and Republicans support. But due to partisan bickering and Harry Reid's refusal to consider Obamacare could be killing jobs and entire industries, the tax still stands, companies keep cutting jobs and the medical device brain drain continues.

But not only does this tax increase costs on companies, it also increases costs on hospitals, doctors and people in need of medical treatment that requires medical devices to be used. As a consequence of this, biomedical or medical device engineering firms are already laying off workers who develop crucial medical products due to the "unforeseen" costs, or in other words, the costs of ObamaCare. Not to mention, the more money these companies pay to the government, the less money they have to invest in research and development.
With this new medical device tax, students who pay large sums of money to get degrees in the field of biomedical engineering, just like doctors, will no longer see the benefits of going into the field and therefore, we will have a shortage of engineers developing new medical device technology. The medical device tax is a death sentence for American medical innovation.

So, what does this all mean? Get ready for the inevitable and previously predicted doctor shortage.

Killer Mom, Leatrice Brewer, Could Cash In On Dead Kids Estate

Leatrice Brewer could receive a portion of her dead children's estate through a loophole in a New York law referred to as the "Son of Sam" law.

In 2008 Brewer killed her three children but was not found guilty of the crime due to her documented mental illness.

"The Brewer case is a novel circumstance," Jonathan Turley, George Washington University law professor, told The Associated Press. "The facts do seem to place her outside the scope of the law, although that does not mean there could not be other barriers to her recovering from the estate of her children."

Brewer, 33, cut her daughter's throat and drowned her and two sons because she thought she was protecting them from a voodoo curse. Soon after the murders she attempted suicide, twice, but failed in both attempts. She was found not guilty because of mental disease and has been in a state psychiatric hospital since.

Nassau County Surrogate Court Judge Edward McCarty will preside over a hearing scheduled for next month to determine if Brewer is entitled to a portion of her children's estimated $350,000 estate.

The money is due from two lawsuits the children's fathers received after a settlement with a New York County after they claimed social workers failed to properly monitor Brewer and her children.

Harlem Pastors Join Forces To Oust Al Sharpton

Tired of powerful ambulance-chaser, hypocrite, fraudster, criminal, sellout, serial liar, white liberal agenda advocate, racial huckster, Obamabot, MSNBC host and "gay rights" supporter Al Sharpton garnering all the local attention from the mainstream press, while ignoring the real plights plaguing the black community, some Harlem pastors have come together to speak truth to "Reverend" Al Sharpton's ignorane and end his long run as 'Speaker of the Black Community':

Four pastors lobbying for change in the Harlem community of Manhattan, N.Y., have gone on the warpath with civil rights leader and religious minister the Rev. Al Sharpton and have invited more than 100 churches to join them in dethroning him from his political seat for his failure to lead on local issues.

"While (Sharpton) is jet-setting around the country, people are going to our churches saying they don't have money to eat," Pastor Johnnie Green, 51, of Mount Neboh Baptist Church on Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard told the New York Daily News. "People need somebody to fight for them."

As a result of the situation, Greene and several other pastors in the community have banded together to create a coalition of black ministers called Speak Out Say It Loud, which seeks to build a united African American power base with citywide influence.

The coalition, which includes Carl Washington of New Mount Zion Baptist Church on W. 140th Street, Kris Erskine of Bethany Baptist Church on W. 153rd Street and Patrick Young of First Baptist Church of East Elmhurst, Queens, will be pushing their gospel of rebellion at a rally slated for Oct. 24, according to a Facebook event page.

"We are the church and our voice shall be heard to the benefit of our community. Join more than 100 pastors and congregations assembling at the Mount Neboh Baptist Church to Speak Out about the deplorable conditions of our community and the injustice against our people. The church is still the church and with God we have miraculous power," read the announcement on the page.

The ministers, who expect about 1,500 people to show up for the event, said Sharpton is nothing more than a personality who has been spending more time promoting his new book, The Rejected Stone and his show on MSNBC.

"Sharpton isn't a community organizer. He's a personality," Raymond Blanchette, head bishop of the United Churches for Kingdom Building told the New York Daily News.

But the seasoned political minister charged that there was no need for a fight: "We need to attack the issues, not each other," Sharpton told the News. "If you want to be the big guy, be the big guy, be that. Don't act like I'm not doing anything local. I am."

"I run a civil rights organization," Sharpton added. "They're not going to do what I do. ... I don't run a church organization."

Black Lesbian Sparkles Lindsey Shoots and Kills White College Student Kimberly Kilgore In Road Rage Incident

This clearly disturbed woman also has a history of violence. But either way, no way this story gets near the amount of attention Trayvon Martin's did from the liberal media because it's a black lesbian who committed the crime, not a Hispanic man who the media kept referring to as 'white':

The woman accused of killing a local college student after an altercation on the road appeared before a judge from behind bars Saturday night.

Police say road rage prompted 22-year-old Sparkles Lindsey to shoot 21-year-old Kennesaw State University student Kimberly Kilgore to death. Lindsey stood emotionless as she heard the charges against her, including aggravated assault and murder.

Police say Lindsey fatally shot Kilgore early Friday morning at the Shiloh Green Apartments off Shiloh Road in Kennesaw as friends of both women watched. The shooting happened after an altercation between the two groups that investigators say started on the road.

"Kim was just a joy to be around, never would do anything to hurt anybody, never talked about anybody, was just always happy," friend and former manager Alisa Pannell told Channel 2's Ashley Swann. "The next thing you know, her life's taken for no reason at all."

Kilgore's friends who worked with her at Johnny's BBQ in Powder Springs are struggling to understand how her life ended so senselessly.

"We're still trying to take it all in and digest everything," Pannell said.

They say they rejoiced when they heard police arrested Lindsey.

"I just thanked God right then because I was so happy that her killer was off the streets," said Pannell.

Kilgore's friends and colleagues are now collecting money at the restaurant to help her family cover funeral expenses. Hundreds of others are making donations and tributes online under the hashtag "prayforkim." Friends say that outpouring of love shows just what a special person the world has lost.

"It just shows how many people loved Kim and what an impact she made," Emily Benton told Swann. "She was taken so soon, but in a short time she made the biggest impact of anyone else."

Lindsey is being held at the Cobb County Jail without bond. Kilgore was a junior at KSU studying communications. A school spokesperson says they will have grief counselors available this week.

With Washington playing Dallas here tonight, it seems like an appropriate time to acknowledge the ongoing controversy about the name, “Redskins.” Let’s start here: there’s no reason to believe that owner Daniel Snyder, or any official or player from his team, harbors animus towards Native Americans, or chooses to disrespect them. This is undoubtedly also true of the vast majority of those who don’t think twice about the longstanding moniker. And in fact, as best could be determined, even a majority of Native Americans say they are not offended.

But, having stipulated that, there’s still a distinction to be made. Objections to names like Braves, Chiefs, Warriors and the like, strike many of us as political correctness run amok. These nicknames honor, rather than demean. They’re pretty much the same as Vikings, Patriots, or even Cowboys. And names like Blackhawks, Seminoles and Chippewas, while potentially problematic, can still be okay provided the symbols are appropriately respectful. Which is where the Cleveland Indians, with the combination of their name and Chief Wahoo logo, have sometimes run into trouble.

A number of teams, mostly in the college ranks, have changed their names in response to objections. The Stanford Cardinal and the Dartmouth Big Green were each once the Indians. The St. Johns Redmen are now the Red Storm. And the Miami of Ohio Redskins, that’s right Redskins, are now the RedHawks. Still, the NFL franchise that represents the nation’s capital, has maintained its name.

But think for a moment about the term “Redskins,” and how it truly differs from all the others. Ask yourself what the equivalent would be if directed towards African Americans, Hispanics, Asians or any other ethnic group. When considered that way, “Redskins” can’t possibly honor a heritage or noble character trait, nor can it possibly be considered a neutral term. It’s an insult, a slur, no matter how benign the present day intent.

It’s fair to say that for a long time now, and certainly in 2013, no offense has been intended. But if you take a step back, isn’t it clear to see how offense might legitimately be taken?
