There's Already 17 Times More Coverage on Chris Christie Scandal Than in Last Six Months of IRS Scandal

In less than 24 hours, the big three networks have devoted 17 times more coverage to a traffic scandal involving Chris Christie than they've allowed in the last six months to Barack Obama's Internal Revenue Service controversy. Since the story broke on Wednesday that aides to the New Jersey governor punished a local mayor's lack of endorsement with a massive traffic jam, ABC, CBS and NBC have responded with 34 minutes and 28 seconds of coverage. Since July 1, these same networks managed a scant two minutes and eight seconds for the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups.

In contrast, journalists such as Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos pounced on the developing Christie story. The GMA host opened the program on Thursday by announcing, "Chris Christie in crisis. Calls at this hour for the feds to step in, investigate the explosive e-mails."

Stephanopoulos later wondered, "One of the big questions right now, how much has it hampered his White House prospects?" Guest Matt Dowd insisted that, on a scale from one to ten, the controversy was already at a "four or five."

On the CBS Evening News, anchor Scott Pelley sounded a similar alarm: "Tonight, a potential presidential candidate caught up in scandal. E-mails show massive New Jersey traffic jams were engineered by aides to Governor Chris Christie as political payback."

  NBC Nightly News host Brian Williams immediately spun the story as a political pitfall for the possible presidential contender: "In a jam. A big problem for a man with big ambitions. Tonight, how a traffic nightmare on the world's busiest bridge has spilled into a full blown scandal with the power to damage Chris Christie's political future."

Larry Klayman Takes Down CNN's Don Lemon Over NSA Surveillance Lawsuit

Conservative legal activist Larry Klayman got into an argument on CNN with host Don Lemon and legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin when he was brought on to discuss his victory this week in a lawsuit challenging NSA surveillance, resulting in Lemon cutting him off the screen and Klayman comparing Lemon to disgraced former MSNBC host Martin Bashir.

Klayman’s appearance Tuesday night on CNN was preceded by a profile of him that included a quotation from a former George W. Bush staffer saying his lawsuits were about “fighting for himself and his own, in my opinion, delusions of grandeur.”

When Klayman was brought into the conversation, he came out firing.

“I think it is important to note that you’re a big supporter of Obama,” Klayman said to Lemon. “That you have favored him in every respect. You have to try to do a hit piece to diminish a very important decision.”

Lemon interjected to clarify that Klayman was speaking about him personally, saying, “None of that is true, but go on.”

“Well, it is true. I’ve watched you for many years. You’re an ultra-leftist and you’re a big supporter of Obama,” Klayman said. “Let’s talk about the NSA, let’s not talk about Larry Klayman. This victory is for the American people. It wasn’t for me. And you, as somebody from the left … should appreciate that you don’t have a police state in this country that’s going to be able to intimidate Americans to chill their free speech rights.”

Ann Coulter and Marc Lamont Hill Go Head-to-Head Over Who Can Say ‘N-Word,’ Results Might Surprise You

Tuesday evening on CNN’s The 11th Hour, a truly fascinating discussion occurred: Ann Coulter and Marc Lamont Hill went head-to-head over who can say certain “forbidden words,” including the notorious “n-word.” 

It’s an interesting segment to watch for three main reasons: 1) Coulter isn’t in “home territory” since she’s on CNN; 2) She and Hill are very cordial with one another, to a point where this feels less like a typical cable news “battle” and more like a panel discussion at a respected institution; and 3) Who agreed with whom, and on which particular words should never be said by certain people, will very likely surprise you. 

Just as a teaser, Coulter at one point asserted that “No other word is like the ‘n-word,’” after lamenting how P.C. police often try to lump words like “retard” and “illegal alien” in with the “n-word.” (Coulter has gotten into hot water for using the first two quite frequently.) 

“Ann Coulter for the win!” Hill shouted. “Nobody saw that coming!” Host Don Lemon laughed as he acknowledged that this may very well be the first time he agrees with Coulter. 

The conversation then veered into other “forbidden words” and their usage. That’s where we saw a bit more tension.

CNN’s Don Lemon on ‘Stop and Frisk’: ‘Would You Rather Be Politically Correct or Safe and Alive?’

During his radio commentary on Tuesday, CNN anchor Don Lemon partially defended the controversial NYPD policy of “stop-and-frisk,” asking its critics whether they’d rather put “political correctness” above safety.

Lemon branded today’s New York mayoral election as “one of the most important races in the world” because it could mean the elimination of the controversial police procedure. He added that the policy should normally be called “stop-question-and-frisk,” but the “question” part often gets left out.

“[I]f you question many people in New York City, even some black and Hispanic people,” Lemon claimed, “they will tell you that on the surface they don’t really have an issue with stop-question-and-frisk. Not the idea of it, at least. Not if the controversial policy was conducted like the occasional, random airport screening.”

Lemon noted that minorities want to believe that officers would stop someone and “politiely” say, “Sir, I’m sorry, but I need to check your bag and your person,” but, he lamented, “they know that that’s not the reality of things on the street.”

“They know that in reality they will probably be ordered to put their hands up, spread their legs, or lay on the ground and be handcuffed while an officer or officers have their ways with them,” the CNN host said, “touching them wherever they’d like or handling them however they’d like.”

Lemon asserted that there are many among the minority community who believe “in theory” that “we’d rather be inconvenienced by being stopped by police than shot by gun-wielding criminals on the street.” However, he said, it’s become too easy for police to become “so drunk with power that they abuse it.”

“So goes New York City, so goes the rest of the country,” he said of stop-and-frisk, adding his suggestion that if a new mayor “alters the equation of the formula that has reduced crime in New York City to its lowest in decades,” it could result in the “creeping back up” of crime rates, the reduction in tourism, and the suffering of “international consequences.” He posited that other major cities could follow suit.

“Whatever the mayor here decides will be reflected in your city, reflected in your crime rate, and in your economy,” Lemon concluded. “So the question is: would you rather be politically correct or safe and alive? That’s the real issue facing the citizens of New York and, pretty soon, ultimately you.”

CNN’s Don Lemon Backs Up Bill O’Reilly: ‘He Doesn’t Go Far Enough’ In Criticizing Black Culture

Bill O’Reilly’s remarks on race last week drew heavy criticism from Chris Hayes, Bill Maher, Al Sharpton, Larry Wilmore, and more, but one unlikely person is agreeing with him: CNN host Don Lemon.

Lemon addressed the wounds inflicted by black males onto their community on his “No Talking Points” segment Saturday afternoon, saying he was able to bring this up now that the George Zimmerman trial had concluded. Before the verdict, right wing media had consistently asked why the “liberal media” was fixating on Trayvon Martin while ignoring rampant black-on-black violence, a “deflection,” in Lemon’s words, from the injustices of the Martin shooting. But now that Zimmerman had been acquitted, it was time “for some tough love on the subject.”

Lemon played a clip of O’Reilly stating, “The reason there is so much violence and chaos in the black precincts is the disintegration of the African American family…Raised without much structure, young black men often reject education and gravitate towards the street culture, drugs, hustling, gangs. Nobody forces them to do that. Again, it is a personal decision.” 

“Bill’s got a point,” Lemon said. “In fact, he’s got more than a point…In my estimation, he doesn’t go far enough.”

Lemon then listed five essential reforms black men need to make in their lives in order to improve themselves and their communities: hike up their pants, remove the n-word from their vocabulary, take care of their communities, finish high school, and lower the rate of children born out of wedlock.

“More than 72% of children in the African Americans are born out of wedlock,” Lemon said. “Studies show that lack of a male role model is an express train right to prison, and the cycle continues.”

“Please, pay attention to and think about what has been presented in recent history as aceptable behavior,” Lemon finished. “Pay close attention to the hip hop and rap culture that many of you embrace, a culture that glorifies everything I just mentioned, thug and reprehensible behavior, a culture that is making a lot of people rich—just not you. And it’s not going to.”

“That said, though, the political right is not off the hook.” Lemon played a clip of Kirsten Powers remarking on how convenient it was the conservative media only cares about black violence when they can use it to “stick it to the black community.”

Homosexual CNN Anchor Don Lemon Uses Show To Advocate For Gay Marriage

Don Lemon is an intellectually bright and good-looking black man who chooses to be physically intimate with other men. With the Supreme Court beginning to decide the Godless, morally-bankrupt issue of "gay marriage" this week, it should come as no surprise that Lemon would toss aside objective reporting and use his own show to advocate for "gay marriage":

On Monday, a debate on CNN over the issues headed to the Supreme Court this week relating to the constitutionality of prohibitions on same-sex marriage and the right of same-sex couples to receive the same federal benefits as straight couples exploded. Heritage Foundation scholar Ryan Anderson got into a heated and tense exchange with CNN anchor Don Lemon after he asserted that there are no laws currently on the books that make gay marriage “illegal.” Lemon resented Anderson’s assertion, calling it “absurd.”

“Just to clarify, the issue here is not legality,” Anderson began, “so, in all 50 states, there is nothing illegal about same-sex marriage.”

“Hang on,” Lemon interjected. “You said same-sex marriage is not – is not illegal?”

“When something is illegal, it’s criminal to engage in that activity,” Anderson clarified.

The two engaged in crosstalk before Lemon insisted that, as the anchor of his program, he can interrupt any guest as often as he likes. “It is illegal – gay people don’t have the same rights,” Lemon insisted. 

“It’s not illegal,” Anderson countered. “When something is illegal you can go to jail for doing it.”

The crosstalk was reignited when Anderson accused Lemon of using “the wrong terminology” to describe what is at issue before the Supreme Court regarding same-sex marriage. 

“You can’t go to jail for committing a same-sex marriage,” Anderson added.

“Finish your point, as absurd as it is,” said Lemon, throwing up his hands.

The pair blew up again after Anderson insisted that it was gay rights activists who were attempting to redefine the definition of marriage for everyone. Anderson insisted that children fare better in life when raised in two-parent households. “Ryan, there is so much wrong in what you said that children do best when they are with their married parents,” Lemon said. “Not all married parents are good parents.”

“No one said that,” Anderson insisted. “I said children do best—“

“That’s not true,” Lemon insisted.

CNN's Don Lemon Dismisses Obama Supporters’ Excuses, Offers President Direct Advice

My guess is that Don Lemon has been taking notes from colleague Anderson Cooper on how to keep your integrity as a professional journalist despite recently "coming out" as being gay:

CNN’s Don Lemon took a look at the responses to — and excuses for — what they perceived as President Obama’s disappointing debate performance last week… And even offered the President some helpful advice.

Showing clips from Chris Matthews‘ post-debate venting session and from both David Axelrod and Robert Gibbs‘ spintastic Sunday morning news show appearances, Lemon summed up the pervading message thusly: “What they’re saying is ‘you lie.’ Remember how those words went over when a Republican said it? Just saying.”

He also shared excuses — like Al Gore chalking up the President’s performance to Denver’s high altitude, and the talking point that he simply had “other things on his mind.”

Then, after showing John Sununu’s comments about the President seeming “lazy” and “detached,” Lemon (who rejected the assertion that anyone who keeps the schedule the U.S. president does can possibly be anything approaching lazy), gave Obama a piece of advice:

…If I may, Mr. President, some advice — and I would say the same thing to Mr. Romney had he performed as poorly during the debate, so this isn’t partisan. So, with all due respect, Mr. President, with all due respect, if you want to show the right, left, and in between that you’re not “out of your league,” then stop looking at your notes. Stop writing while someone else is talking. Do what my mom — and I’m sure your mom and many moms across the country tell their children, what they teach us — look people, no matter who they are, dead in the eye. Even when you’re tired, down, or maybe even intimidated. And stand up for yourself, because no one else will. That’s my advice.

As he pointed out, that’s way less harsh than Jon Stewart’s advice.

In a report which aired on April 23 on recent scandals and how they may impact the 2012 reelection effort of President Obama, CNN anchor Don Lemon found himself agreeing with conservatives that the president needs to take responsibility for things that happened under his watch. For espousing this view, Lemon was promptly excoriated on Twitter those who disagreed with his opinion.


In a report on the duel scandals that broke last week, the Secret Service prostitution scandal and the General Services Administration controversy, Lemon played clips from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and conservative columnist George Will saying that – while they did not expressly fault the White House for these scandals – that they reflect poorly on government’s self-accountability.

Lemon agreed with this assessment and opined at the end of the segment that, after more than three years of the Obama administration, it is time to stop “pointing fingers backwards.”

So, everyone understands it’s an election year and you need something to hang your hat on. It’s something to hang your hat on. But no one likes a broken record. And at some point you’re going to have to take responsibility for the things that happened on your watch, regardless of what went down or up before you took office. And stop pointing fingers backwards. That’s tonight’s “No Talking Points.”

For this break with Democratic orthodoxy, Lemon was excoriated on Twitter — many of his most vocal critics took issue with Lemon, as a gay man, criticizing the presidnet.

CNN's 'Objective' Don Lemon Appeared at Two Events Featuring Sebelius, Received 'Visibility' Award at Pro-Gay Gala

If you were wondering about CNN's objectivity on liberal issues like gay rights, the lines became a whole lot more blurred recently as anchor Don Lemon received a "Visibility" award from the pro-gay Human Rights Campaign at its North Carolina gala, where Obama's HHS secretary Kathleen Sebelius spoke and stumped for the President's re-election.


Then on Friday, Sebelius addressed middle school students at an anti-bullying event where Lemon served as the moderator of an anti-bullying panel. His appearances at events with an Obama cabinet member blur the lines of objectivity and his receiving an award from a gay-rights organization makes his liberal bias all the clearer.


At the anti-bullying event, Lemon asked Sebelius about combating bullying. She responded that kids should tell bullies they're being jerks, after a film had been presented telling the audience of kids not to call others jerks.


And at the HRC gala, Lemon quoted Martin Luther King in his acceptance speech that "There comes a time where silence equals betrayal," in reference to his own coming out as openly-gay. Could he also have been referring to his colleague Anderson Cooper's widely-discussed silence on his own personal lifestyle?


Lemon's words echo his statement from last May, where he professed his hope to "change minds" by coming out – as in, by coming out as openly-gay and not remaining silent, he hopes that will change people's minds on the issue. Contrast that with his telling Joy Behar that he would remain "objective" as a reporter.


And who was one of the corporate sponsors for the HRC gala? Time Warner, Inc., which owns CNN.

Openly-gay CNN anchor Don Lemon badgered GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum over his views on gay marriage Friday, questioning his stance on gay rights and if he really had any gay friends. A brief clip of the interview that aired on Newsroom Friday afternoon revealed Lemon to be fairly testy in his questions.

Having revealed in May that he is gay, Lemon defended his objectivity as a journalist and dismissed the notion that he would be biased on the gay rights debate. But later he told a pro-gay newspaper "I hope to change minds" as an openly-gay journalist, and that there should be more journalists who come out. NewsBusters has documented Lemon's history of pro-gay bias.

First, any conservative should've known that the minute Don Lemon "outed" himself as gay the other day, his chance's of being a fair and impartial reporter immediately went to zero. Second, Santorum does a tremendous job here--he was prepared, didn't back down from Lemon's lame attempts (I mean, citing Joy Behar as some sort of credible pundit?!?) to smear him and totally stood his ground. Lastly, if CNN has any credibility left they'd fire Lemon for conducting a shameless interview like this. This was nothing but an attempt to bully and smear a conservative presidential candidate on a subject the anchor has a personal stake in. There wasn't any attempt to be fair or objective and Lemon is an a-hole for acting in such a non-professional manner. Just fire the bastard and let him get a show on MSNBC if he wants to do nothing but push the homosexual agenda, they'd take him in a heartbeat (and Lord knows that they can use some color over there).

CNN Anchor Don Lemon Reveals That He Sleeps With Men, Plays The 'Born Gay' Lie

Of course, on the Left he's the new Harriet Tubman or something because he sleeps with men instead of women. But then, as CNN is supposed to be network that tries to stay "neutral" on the issues, is there any way this guy can do his job without some pro-gay bias along with some smearing Christianity at the same time? Oh goodie, Newsbusters reports that he already does just that:

Lemon has a history of pro-gay bias at CNN, featuring soft interviews of pro-gay figures and hinting that Christian churches preach the same hateful message against homosexuality that the fringe Westboro Baptist Church promotes – "God hates fags."


Last June, Lemon hosted former Army Lt. Dan Choi for a softball interview along with another homosexual activist. Choi became a poster boy for the gay-rights movement and the repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" when his open declaration of his sexuality sent him packing from the military. "Was it worth the prize for speaking out?" Lemon asked Choi of his honorable discharge from the Army.


Twice last summer, Lemon hosted the same-sex couple who was the subject of CNN's slanted documentary "Gary And Tony Have A Baby" and was sympathetic to their cause. Once he asked them if they were "role models" for the gay-rights movement. "How much pressure are you feeling with so much attention for your experience? Do you feel like the gay community, in many ways, view you guys as role models?"


He also featured former NBA player John Amaechi in 2007, who publicly came out as a homosexual after his career. Lemon asked Amaechi if the NBA is "mature" enough to handle an openly-gay player. "Do you think that the NBA now is ready for a player who may be out while they're playing? Do you think the league is mature enough to handle that?"


During a segment in March with ex-Catholic priest Fr. Alberto Cutie, Lemon outlandishly hinted that Christian churches preach the same hateful message against homosexuality that the fringe Westboro Baptist Church touts, whose website reads "God hates fags."


"So father, listen, do you consider Westboro – most people don't consider it a legitimate church, okay? But is this – aren't they saying the same thing that's reinforced by religion that's being preached from the pulpit in many churches on Sunday?"
