Historically Black Fraternity Inducts Bill Clinton As Honorary Member

FOXNews.com:
A historically black fraternity has voted to induct former President Bill Clinton as an honorary member.

Phi Beta Sigma President Paul Griffin Jr. said Friday that Clinton is the first U.S. president to be inducted into a historically black fraternity.

The fraternity voted Tuesday for Clinton's induction at its 95th Anniversary Conclave in New Orleans, La.

Stevie Wonder, Al Roker, the Rev. Al Sharpton and jazz musician Ramsey Lewis are also honorary members of Phi Beta Sigma.

The fraternity was founded in 1914 at Howard University in Washington, D.C. It has more than 150,000 alumni and college members in about 500 chapters throughout the U.S., Caribbean, Africa and Asia.

The dumb get dumber. Slick Willie played the sax and boned an intern while in office and continues to get embraced by black liberals. While LBJ, who did more for black Americans than any President since Lincoln rarely gets mentioned, much less garners any praise from the people he did so much to help.

Former President Bush Handled Recession Better Than Current President Obama

The facts pretty much speak for themselves:
Now that 6 months have passed since Obama's "stimulus plan" has passed, I thought it useful to examine the stock market reaction to Obama's plan and compare it to the reaction of President Bush's 2003 stimulus plan.

Bush's plan passed in April 2003 while Obama's passed in February 2009. I chose the S&P 500 Index starting point one month prior to passage because the market typically discounts the information beforehand as the bills work their way through Congress. I chose 6 months-post passage as the ending point because that's all the data we have for Obama's plan so far.

Bush: From March 2003 to October 2003, the S&P 500 went from 835 to 1034 or +23.8%.

Obama: From January 2009 through July 2009, the S&P went from 932 to 879 or -5.2%.

By way of comparison, I also reviewed the market returns a full year prior to these time periods and the results show a very similar situation.

The S&P 500 return under Bush 1-year prior was -26.2%, hurt by the internet bubble collapse, 9/11 and corporate scandals. Trillions of dollars in lost wealth.

The S&P 500 return under Obama 1-year prior was -35.9%, hurt by the housing bubble collapse.
Also trillions of dollars in lost wealth.

Both presidents had very similar economic challenges, but the difference in market confidence inspired by the two stimulus plans couldn't be more stark. The market discounted that Bush's plans would return the economy to strong growth, while the market is discounting that Obama's plans will do nothing or even harm the economy's growth. I challenge people to offer an explanation other than what the market has already told us. It's time for Democrats to abandon their tax-and-spend approach and return to a plan that actually rebuilds individual wealth and business confidence.

Of course, Obama has a different view than the market - he says his plan is working great.

Jim Inhofe Quote of the Day!

"Believe me, he knew. He kind of looked like a clown when I was talking to him."

Obama Broke Promise That He Wouldn't Use Signing Statements

TheHill.com:
The House rebuked President Obama for trying to ignore restrictions to international aid payments, voting overwhelmingly for an amendment forcing the administration to abide by its constraints.

House members approved an amendment by a 429-2 vote to have the Obama administration pressure the World Bank to strengthen labor and environmental standards and require a Treasury Department report on World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) activities. The amendment to a 2010 funding bill for the State Department and foreign operations was proposed by Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas), but it received broad bipartisan support.

The conditions on World Bank and IMF funding were part of the $106 billion war supplemental bill that was passed last month. Obama, in a statement made as he signed the bill, said that he would ignore the conditions.
Change that you can believe in. Man, that Bush guy was pretty clever.

86% Of Americans Want Abortion Restricted

Newsmax.com:

The American people continue to move to the pro-life perspective on abortion according to the latest Moral Compass survey by

the Knights of Columbus and Marist Poll.

The poll mirrored findings of other recent surveys, showing that more Americans identify as pro-life than as pro-choice, and that the vast majority of Americans favor restricting abortion.

Among the key findings:

  • 86% of Americans would significantly restrict abortion.
  • 60% of Americans would limit abortion to cases of rape, incest or to save the life of a mother – or would not allow it at all.
  • 53% of Americans believe abortion does more harm than good to a woman in the long term.
  • 79% of Americans support conscience exemptions on abortion for health care workers. This includes 64% of those who identify as strongly pro-choice.
  • 69% of Americans think that it is appropriate for religious leaders to speak out on abortion.
  • 59% say religious leaders have a key role to play in the abortion debate.
  • 80% of Americans believe that laws can protect both the health of the woman and the life of the unborn. This includes 68% of those who identified as strongly pro-choice.

Additionally, the data showed that since October nearly every demographic sub-group had moved toward the pro-life position except for non-practicing Catholics and men under 45 years of age.

Independents and liberals showed the greatest shift to the pro-life position since October, while Democrats were slightly less likely to be pro-life now than they were in October.

  • Obama's 16-Year-Old Booty Call?!?

Despite her "stunning" good looks, dealing with a consistently angry wife every day must be getting to Barry these days, and understandably so....but to the point of perversion?:

    Baby got Barack!

The leader of the free world and his French counterpart were caught sneaking a peek at a the pink-satin-draped booty of a 17-year-old junior G-8 delegate just moments before the summit's official group photo was snapped in Italy yesterday.

Obama wasn't the only head of state getting Yankee Doodle randy.

The president got a show of support for his stimulus package from French President Nicolas Sarkozy -- whose wandering eyes also couldn't help but take in the view.

The beauty who prompted the president to channel his inner Bill Clinton was identified as Rio de Janeiro resident Mayara Tavares. The girl from Ipanema had been selected to attend a meeting of young people held in conjunction with the summit.

To be fair, it seems as if Barry was just being a gentleman, waiting to help some other young lady down the stairs. But again, considering he has to sleep with Michelle every night, could you blame the man for creeping? Even just a little?

Jim Inhofe: Cap-and-Trade DOA In Senate

    Newsmax.com:

The cap-and-trade bill to curb carbon emissions has passed the House of Representatives, but there's "not any way in the world" that it will pass the Senate, Sen. Jim Inhofe tells Newsmax.

The Oklahoma Republican, Ranking Minority Member on the Committee on Environment and Public Works, says the bill — strongly backed by the Obama administration and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — currently has only 34 supporters in the Senate.

That is not only far short of the 60 votes needed to defeat a filibuster, it is also short of the 51 votes needed for a majority in the Senate.

The House bill requires a 17 percent reduction of greenhouse gases — mainly carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels such as coal — by 2020 from 2005 levels, and about an 80 percent reduction by mid-century. It would also allow polluters to buy and sell emission allowances as a way to ease the cost of compliance.

"The House of Representatives passed it with 219 votes," Sen. Inhofe told Newsmax.TV's Ashley Martella.

"That's just one over the 218 that would be required. So there's a lot of arm-twisting.

"All the far-left extremist environmentalists were celebrating. The Al Gore guys thought it was the greatest day in the world. And yet they knew all the time that there's not any way in the world they're going to be able to get that passed out of the Senate.

Good. And tell ManBearPig that he can take his global warming alarmism and can go to hell while you're at it.

    Woman Marries Dog

    Ananova.com:
A Ghanaian woman has married her dog because it has qualities she had seen only in her late father.

Emily Mabou, 29, of Aburi, married the 18-month-old dog in a ceremony attended by a traditional priest and local, curious villagers, reports the Daily Dose.

Her younger brother David Mabou said her family boycotted the wedding which they felt was "a stupid step to combat her loneliness".

But Ms Mabou said: "For so long, I've been praying for a life partner who will have all the qualities of my dad. My dad was kind, faithful, and loyal to my mum, and he never let her down.

"I've been in relationships with so many men here in Togo, and they are all the same - skirt-chasers and cheaters. My dog is kind, and loyal to me and he treats me with so much respect."

In the ceremony, the priest warned villagers not to mock the wedding, but to "rejoice with her as she has found happiness at last".

Asked how she intends to raise children with her new husband, Ms Mabou said simply: "We will adopt."

Sick. But no surprise in an era that's seen marriage ridiculed and defiled by liberals.

Independent Voters Moving Away From Obama

The Left might think differently, but these folks are the ones most responsible for getting people elected to public office. And so far what they're seeing isn't impressing them:

In a potentially alarming trend for the White House, independent voters are deserting President Barack Obama nationally and especially in key swing states, recent polls suggest.

Obama’s job approval rating hit a — still healthy — low of 56 percent in the Gallup Poll on Wednesday. And pollsters are debating whether Obama’s expansive and expensive policy proposals or the ground-level realities of a still-faltering economy are driving the falling numbers.

But a source of the shift appears to be independent voters, who seem to be responding to Republican complaints of excessive spending and government control.

“This is a huge sea change that is playing itself out in American politics,” said Democratic pollster Doug Schoen. “Independents who had become effectively operational Democrats in 2006 and 2008 are now up for grabs and are trending Republican.

“They’re saying, ‘Costing too much, no results, see the downside, not sure of the upside,’” he said.

Harry Reid Says 'No' To Second Stimulus Bill

It hasn't worked. It hasn't created more jobs. And yet, some Dems are still pushing for even more money to bail out the country's FAIL department:
One of President Barack Obama's top allies in Congress said Tuesday that lawmakers must be open to seeking a second economic stimulus package to fight a stubborn recession and create jobs.

"I think we need to be open to whether or not we need additional action," said House Democratic Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, who stressed that it is too soon to assess the $787-billion stimulus approved in February.

Some Democrats have hinted they may favor a second stimulus measure, drawing sharp attacks from Republicans that the giant package approved months ago had demonstrably failed to create or save jobs and turn the U.S. economy around.

"I think it's certainly too early right now . . . to say, you know, it's not working. In fact, we believe it is working," said Hoyer, who hails from Maryland.

Senate Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid seemed less convinced, saying it was too soon to judge the first stimulus but underlining: "As far as I'm concerned, there's no showing to me that another stimulus is needed."

About 10 percent of the earlier package had been spent, with 90 percent more to come, Reid said, telling reporters: "The crops have been planted, the shoots are now appearing above the ground.

"It's going to move more quickly now," the Nevada senator said.

Obama Forgets How He Met His Wife Michelle

Guess the libs version of the greatest love story ever isn't as charming as they'd like for us to think:

Earlier today at a university in Moscow the president made the following statement:

I don’t know if anybody else will meet their future wife or husband in class like I did, but I’m sure you’ll all going to have wonderful careers.

The trouble is this statement is demonstrably untrue. Though both Barack and Michelle went to Harvard Law, they didn't overlap — she got her degree in '88 and he graduated in '91. They actually met in Chicago when he was a summer associate at a law firm in Chicago. Newsweek factchecks the statement, acknowledges all of the above, and concludes:

Was what Obama said wrong? Technically no, considering Obama was still going to school when he met his wife. But for those keeping close watch on Obama trivia—ie, the White House press corps—the statement did seem a wee bit off.

Come again? The statement is just wrong. There is no "technical" justification for it having any veracity that I can tell — "in class" is quite specific. Next time you husbands embarass your wife publicly by not remembering a significant relationship detail, I bet you wish a major media organization would step in and spin it for you. Alas, you'll have no such luck.

Obviously he wasn't working with the teleprompter.

Lonely, Miserable Plagiarist Maureen Dowd Slams Sarah Palin Again

The venomous, foul-mouth, childless, husbandless, plagiarist that is
Maureen Dowd just can't let go of her hatred towards a conservative, successful woman with a family who represents everything she's personally against:

She says maybe I didn’t want to go back to the nitty-gritty of Alaska politics after the bright lights of the national campaign.

“The nitty-gritty, like, you mean, the fish slime and the dirt under the fingernails and stuff that’s me?” I said. Awesome response, huh?!!

It’s the same old double standard. I am not one of those who would whine and cuss. It’s just not how I’m wired!!! But the minute I start to whine and cuss, the mainstream media totally misunderstands my verbiage and the combination of things that brought me to this place of knowing. And I know that I know that I know those crappy bloggers will put out more confliction stories.

I keep explaining what impacted me, but everyone seems more confused and ironic than ever. What is it about average, hard-working Americans like me that Americans can’t understand?
To think, Dowd's mom has a lot in common with Gov. Palin--they both didn't abort their autistic children.

NYTimes Puts Sympathetic Article On Porn Industry On Front Page

The Slimes deems filthy whores lamenting that they don't get "good scripts" anymore as front page news. Oh the humanity:

The actress known as Savanna Samson once relished preparing for a role. “I couldn’t wait to get my next script,” she said.

There’s no reason to look at them anymore, she said, because her movies now call almost exclusively for action. Specifically, sex.

The pornographic movie industry has long had only a casual interest in plot and dialogue. But moviemakers are focusing even less on narrative arcs these days. Instead, they are filming more short scenes that can be easily uploaded to Web sites and sold in several-minute chunks.

“On the Internet, the average attention span is three to five minutes,” said Steven Hirsch, co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment. “We have to cater to that.”
And they even have the nerve to accompany the article with a photo of a whore by the name of "Savanna Samson" (above) looking like your average working woman--want to see real photos of the kind of "work" "Savanna Samson" does, go here. Any wonder why the NYTimes is such an utter fail.

Al Gore Compares Fighting Global Warming To Fighting Nazis

Yeah, the idiot actually said that:

Al Gore is comparing the fight against climate change to the struggle against Nazis in World War II. The former vice president told an environmental forum in England that the world lacks the political will to act. Gore encouraged global leaders to unite their nations to fight global warming.

We've reported many scientists have detailed a recent global cooling trend. The Times Online quotes Gore saying: "Winston Churchill aroused this nation in heroic fashion to save civilization in World War II... We have everything we need except political will but political will is a renewable resource."

Gore admitted it is difficult to persuade the public that the threat from climate change is just as urgent as the threat from Nazi Germany: "The level of awareness and concern among populations has not crossed the threshold where political leaders feel that they must change. The only way politicians will act is if awareness raises to a level to make them feel that it's a necessity."

Yeah, pass that tax-ridden Cap And Trade so Al Gore can have even more $$$ coming out of his ass.

CNN Talks Michael Jackson Media Coverage

    Part 2

Michael Jackson was a cultural icon on the level of Elvis, John Lennon and Princess Diana. People whining about any media "overcoverage" need to quit yapping.

Democrats Admit Cap And Trade Bill Is A Job Killer

    USNews.com:

In her remarks bringing the debate over the climate bill to a close, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California urged her colleagues to vote in favor of the cap and trade bill, saying the measure was about four things: "jobs, jobs, jobs, and jobs."

She was right—the House-passed version of cap and trade is all about jobs: jobs lost, jobs never created, jobs sent overseas, and, unbelievably, jobs people will be paid for doing long after they cease to exist.

According to Friday's Washington Times, the legislation includes language that provides, should it become law, that people who lose their jobs because of it "could get a weekly paycheck for up to three years, subsidies to find new work and other generous benefits—courtesy of Uncle Sam."

How generous are these benefits? Well, according to the Times, "Adversely affected employees in oil, coal and other fossil-fuel sector jobs would qualify for a weekly check worth 70 percent of their current salary for up to three years. In addition, they would get $1,500 for job-search assistance and $1,500 for moving expenses from the bill's 'climate change worker adjustment assistance' program, which is expected to cost $4.2 billion from 2011 to 2019."

Instead of being a the source of millions of new jobs of "green jobs"—as House Democrats are fond of saying over and over again—the provision is a hidden admission that their effort is a job killer, not just a massive new tax on energy.

Building a safety net into the legislation is probably the responsible thing to do. The government is going to be directly responsible for the destruction of millions of jobs if the bill passed by the House becomes law—anywhere from a net loss of .5 percent of total jobs over the first 10 years, according to the liberal Brookings Institution, to 3 million by the year 2030, according to the industry-backed Coalition for Affordable American Energy. But wouldn't it be better to leave the jobs alone in the first place? It would certainly be cheaper.

7th Grader Sues School Over Right To Wear Pro-Life T-Shirt

    FoxNews.com:

A California mom says her public school administrators violated her daughter's First Amendment rights when they ordered the seventh-grader to take off her pro-life T-shirt.

Anna Amador has gone to court on behalf of her daughter, who she says was ordered by her principal to change her shirt on "National Pro-Life T-Shirt Day." The shirt the girl was wearing displays two graphic pictures of a fetus growing in the womb.

The incident occurred in April 2008 at McSwain Elementary School, a K-8 school in Merced, Calif. Amador alleges in her legal complaint that school Principal Terrie Rohrer, Assistant Principal C.W. Smith and office clerk Martha Hernandez mistreated her daughter and denied the girl her First Amendment rights when they ordered her to leave the cafeteria and change her shirt.

Well, obviously this 7th grader didn't learn that rights to free speech are only designed to protect immoral, leftwing loons beholden to the radical, liberal agenda. Or else, why isn't the ACLU jumping on this case?

GOP Pol Peter King Spits On Michael Jackson's Grave

    Newsmax.com:
A New York congressman says in a YouTube video that Michael Jackson was a "pervert."

Rep. Peter King said society is "glorifying" a "low-life" while ignoring the efforts of teachers, police officers, firefighters, veterans and volunteers.

In the video, the congressman says the "day in and day out" coverage of Jackson's death is "too politically correct."

He conceded that Jackson "may have been a good singer" and "did some dancing."

King is among the possible Republican contenders for the seat held by Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (JILL'-uh-brand.)

King has said in the past that he represents the interests of "blue-collar conservatives."

First of all. while Michael Jackson has been accused by quite a few people of child molestation, he's never been convicted of anything. Secondly, this is a reach as the media's coverage of Michael Jackson has nothing to do with dissing our troops. And yeah, at a time when the GOP is struggling, barely getting mention on the national radar, dissing a cultural icon is just the kind of lift it needs. Any wonder too why Blacks stay away from the GOP?

Former Democrat Mayor Marion Barry Charged With Stalking

    CBSNews.com:
Marion Barry used to be addicted to crack cocaine. Now, according to police charges, his latest addiction might be a female friend who accused him of stalking her.

Barry was arrested Saturday and charged with stalking a female acquaintance. It’s the latest in a long string of troubles for the politician, who was once videotaped smoking crack cocaine.

U.S. Park Police said Barry, a current D.C. Council member, was arrested after a woman flagged down an officer and claimed that Barry was stalking her. He was charged with misdemeanor stalking and released.
No surprise here. Marion Barry has been a walking train wreck his entire life, which in turn makes him a hero to Black liberals. After all, it was black liberals who supported and got Barry re-elected as mayor of D.C. despite all his past problems, which of course, includes the infamous video of him being caught smoking crack cocaine. Amazing that.

Sarah Palin's Hypocrisy On Media Criticism

Does Palin have a leg to stand on complaining about media criticism now after doing this interview just a year ago? Of course, maybe this was just an extension of her dislike for Hillary. Of course, considering that this interview took place before she was pucked into the national spotlight as a VP nominee, one could argue that at the time Palin was clueless about the media's treatment of Hillary. Either way, it makes her look bad. And I still say that media criticism was not reason enough for Palin to quit being governor of Alaska.
