Race to the Bottom: Ed Schultz Forgets Fellow Dems, Fellow MSNBC Hosts When Playing the Race Card on Syria

Well, you knew it was coming. 

The race card being played from the bottom of the deck… 

Even on Syria. 

Leading this charge is former MSNBC primetime-8:00 PM-host-turned-MSNBC-weekend-host (a lonely timeslot he claimed he volunteered for)-turned-early-evening-weekday-at-5:00 PM-host Ed Schultz.
Schultz contends that GOP opposition of Syrian strikes is rooted not in: 

(A) Uncertainly around a post-Assad Syria, where the opposition may somehow be worse than the current regime

(B) Possible repercussions via Iran or Hezbollah to Israel or U.S. embassies and troops in the region, or even through terror attacks here in the U.S.

(C) Making the growing refugee crisis even more grave

(D) A strong majority of the American people opposed to any military action

(E) All of the above 

Instead, Ed says Republicans oppose the President because of “hatred of our first black President.” Via Schultz’s MSNBC show on Thursday:

“I really believe that everything that we have said on this show are reasonable, patriotic reasons to be against another war, another strike, another act of war––and that’s what it is––but hatred of our first black president is not.”

If that’s the case, then there are A LOT of racists running around the country these days. First and foremost is the man who replaced him at 8:00 PM on MSNBC, Chris Hayes. After all, he vehemently opposes any action in Syria. Is he—the host with racial quotas for guests—also a racist? 

How about Alan Grayson (D-FL), easily the most outspoken liberal in Congress? He wants no part of Syria, either. Even Joe Manchin (D-WV) said, “I cannot support the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s resolution and will be working with my colleagues and the administration to develop other options.”

That just screams racism, doesn’t it? 

The nomadic Schultz has sat in three time slots in the past year alone. He was supposed to be a savior for MSNBC’s failing 5:00 PM spot. Instead, because of 5th grade comments like this, he’s getting pummeled by Fox in his time slot of the month—and by CNN as well. 

But it’s really no surprise.

In fact, it’s shocking it took this long.

Chicago Public Schools Mandate Sex Ed Classes for Kindergarten Students

They are much, much too young to even be thinking about sex and sexual acts at their age are the worst form of pedophilia, but Chicago public schools think little boys and girls in kindergarten are ready for sex ed classes.

Some people may think a five-year old is too young for sex education. Administrators with Chicago Public schools do not.

New to the curriculum this year, mandatory sexual and health education for kindergarten classes. CBS 2’s Dorothy Tucker took at look at the lesson the little ones will be learning.

But parents are already up in arms about not only how appropriate the classes are but whether they distract from real education.

Like every other kindergartner, Angelina Yang is learning reading, writing, arithmetic–and now sexual health education.

“I want to know what kind of education she is receiving before she gets that education,” said Angelia’s mom, Stella. ‘As a parent, I have a right to know.”

“If he has questions, I’m happy to answer them, but I’m not sure it belongs in a classroom setting,” said parent Brooke Lyon.

“The new policy calls for 300 minutes of instruction or about 30 minutes a month,” the report says.

North Carolina is also pushing sex education programs on kids and PLanned Parenthood pushes sex ed on 11-year-olds.

ETR Associates—a sex program clearinghouse and offshoot of Planned Parenthood of Santa Cruz—admits on its webpage that a program being taught in North Carolina schools and elsewhere across the nation teaches toward four major “outcome expectancies or behavioral beliefs.” Belief number 4 is described in the ETR overview as “Hedonistic Beliefs.” Hedonistic philosophy places pleasure above everything else—as the greatest good.

Kirsten Powers Says Barack Obama ‘Should Give Back’ Nobel Peace Prize

Wednesday night on The O’Reilly Factor, Bill O’Reilly used a question from a Swedish reporter at this morning’s G-20 press conference to ask if President Obama should “give back” his Nobel Peace Prize now that he’s advocating military action in Syria. Fox contributor Kirsten Powers went even further, saying Obama “should have given it back a long time ago.” 

Powers said she thought the president should return the prize “for the drone war, for escalating the war in Afghanistan, having all these people die unnecessarily. Plenty of civilians have been killed by his drone war, including children.”

Taking Obama’s side in the argument, O’Reilly countered with, “you know every war in the history of mankind has resulted in collateral damage and civilian casualties.”

“First of all, I don’t use the term collateral damage because they are human beings,” Powers shot back. “I think that the war should actually be accomplishing something and I don’t think that the drones were accomplishing anything.” Instead, she said “it’s created more terrorists.” She said she may have been in favor of going into Syria earlier on but doesn’t “understand why there is a moral imperative now but there wasn’t a moral imperative a year ago.” 

Republican strategist Kate Obenshain agreed with more of what Powers said than she thought she would, saying Obama “basically won the election saying he didn’t believe in military intervention unless there was imminent threat to our national security,” but now pushing for action in Syria. She found herself in a heated debate with O’Reilly for saying the U.S. should not intervene because “seven out of nine of the factions against Assad right now is Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood.”

If that’s the case, O’Reilly wanted to know if Obenshain thinks Sen. John McCain is “trying to deceive the American people.”

“I am saying that he is understating Bill, intentionally, to further his own objectives,” Obenshain responded.

Powers, who had been quiet for several minutes, dropped into the conversation to ask, “Has John McCain never been wrong about anything?”

Oregon Bakery Closes Doors Over Refusal To Cater "Gay Wedding"

Honestly, I think these "gay activists" are purposely targeting Christian and conservative businesses just to put them out of business--all a part of the Godless agenda being led by Barack Obama.

A follow-up to the story of the New Mexico photographer who lost her court battle after refusing to take a job at a gay wedding. Different state and a different trade this time but a similar result potentially: The business owners in this case said no when a lesbian couple came into the shop looking for a wedding cake. The latter filed a complaint with the state under the relevant antidiscrimination law and an investigation, which could have taken up to a year, was launched. The bakers, having already been targeted for a boycott by opponents and likely fearing the expense and aggravation of a long court battle themselves, decided to close the shop and move operations into their home, which presumably renders the business “distinctly private” and therefore beyond the reach of the state’s public accommodations law. (Does it?)

Watch the extended interview with them about what they’ve gone through, paying special attention to the bit in the middle about “mafia tactics” by some gay-rights supporters. Two interesting wrinkles to this case vis-a-vis the New Mexico one. First, remember that Dale Carpenter and Eugene Volokh argued on the photographer’s behalf that, because photography is an art and inherently expressive, forcing her to cover an event to which she’s morally opposed necessarily violates her right of free expression. The same isn’t true, wrote Carpenter, of “more mundane and generic services (like cake-baking).” Presumably he’d agree with the gay couple, then, that the bakers have no right to refuse service. I’m not sure I grasp the distinction, though: In both cases, the business owners are being asked to celebrate an act to which they conscientiously object by producing a beautiful product in its honor. What’s more expressive, framing a shot of a married couple posing or crafting an elaborate cake to glorify the occasion? I’m not sure that there’s more artistry in photography in this case.

Second, note what the guy says in the clip about how they’ve made cakes for this couple before. They don’t refuse to serve gay customers, they refuse to serve gay weddings specifically. The same is true, I assume, of the New Mexico photographer. That’s a potential line of attack for social-conservative pols as they start to push back against cases like this — this isn’t a categorical refusal to serve a minority group, it’s a religious objection to serving at one particular type of event in which that group participates. That may not help them legally but it’ll help in the court of public opinion, where the majority in support of religious exemptions in situations like this is already overwhelming. I’d be surprised if we don’t start seeing legislative hearings about it, whether in Congress or at the state level, sometime next year.

Media Sees Obama's Wars As Good Because He's Not Bush

If you've noticed that the active anti-war movement seems smaller these days, you're not alone – and just at the moment when the public seems to support their cause.

But those few who have remained consistent, along with a vast and ideologically diverse majority of Americans opposed to war with Syria, must now contend with a media that reflexively assumes purer motives of President Obama than it did of his predecessor.

This is how the media had been dragging us into a war that both Congress and the public view with great skepticism – right up to the moment the British Parliament's vote and extremely sour public opinion forced Obama to un-make his mind about invading without congressional approval.

Witness, for example, the coverage this year and last of Obama’s controversial drone-strike policy. Even while providing reasonably critical coverage, journalists did not hide their shock that Obama – “a good man ... an honorable man ... the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize ... an unimpeachably upstanding citizen,” as Esquire put it – had made mass assassination his singular contribution to the history of the U.S. presidency.

The New York Times, even in revealing Obama's personal role in approving strikes, merely presented this as evidence of his credentials as a deep thinker: “A student of writings on war by Augustine and Thomas Aquinas,” the Times asserted, “he believes that he should take moral responsibility for such actions.”

That provides some insight into the sympathetic assumptions from which the media currently operate and how they have nearly got us into a war last week.

New York Times public editor Margaret Sullivan asked her paper’s managing editor, Dean Baquet, about whether Times coverage of Syria isn’t ignoring the lessons of Iraq.

His paraphrased reply: "Syria is not another Iraq, he said. One of the major differences, he said, is that the Obama administration has no enthusiasm for this conflict in the way that President George W. Bush’s administration did a decade ago.”

The drums of war beat to such assumptions, and to the tune of wishful thinking. Time’s Jay Newton-Small penned a post last Wednesday – “Six Ways Syria 2013 is not Iraq 2003.”

Two of her six “reasons” – the robust Arab and European support that Obama supposedly enjoys (Newton-Small sneered: “Remember ‘Freedom Fries?'”) – were falsified within 48 hours of publication.

Jordan refused U.S. access to its airspace and the British Parliament vetoed UK action against Syria. It was the first time Parliament has voted down a government-backed military action since Britain exited our own Revolutionary War. (“Freedom Muffins,” anyone?)

Newton-Small at least brought up one other important difference – the fact that Bush had placed his ill-fated invasion in Congress' hands, whereas Obama at that point had no plans to do so.

“Maybe Obama should allow the debate in Congress,” she conceded, adding that “it’d be a headache,” and referring to the constitutional process of authorizing a war as “posturing.” She was not alone in this characterization.

Yet under great pressure at home and abroad, Obama has now conceded (if not explicitly) that he can't just start foreign wars on his own – a possibility that few journalists ever took seriously, even if polls showed eight in 10 Americans were demanding it.

In 2003, the American public strongly supported the invasion of Iraq (72 percent), and its prospects seemed far more promising at the time than this new venture.

It had an actual goal (regime change), and months (not days) were spent debating the merits. One can only imagine how much more quickly that unwise war might have begun, had the contemporaneous media coverage taken the deferential tone of the Obama era.

1st Gay President Barack Obama To Meet With Homosexual Activists In Russia

No surprise here. When it comes to taking care of the Godless "sexual minority" he's created, Barack Obama's priorities are always in order:

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights activists said Tuesday they have been invited to meet with President Barack Obama on the sidelines of this week's Group of 20 summit in Russia.

Obama and his administration have voiced concern over a law recently passed by Russia's parliament that targets "homosexual propaganda."

Igor Kochetkov of LGBT Network told The Associated Press that his organization will accept the invitation to meet with Obama in St. Petersburg on Thursday. The St. Petersburg-based advocacy group Coming Out said it also was invited but hasn't decided yet whether to go.

The White House would not comment on the meeting. However, Obama has frequently met with civil society groups when traveling abroad. In 2009, he met with a group of Russian rights activists while visiting Russia, but members of the LGBT community were not present then.

Miley Cyrus Endorsed Drug "Molly" Responsible For Two Deaths At New York Festival

The general public holds celebrities to such high standards that they'll ignore facts, basic principles and even general common sense for the status symbol of a celebrity endorsed product. Indeed, for all the naive and gullible Godless souls out there, whether it's Lady Gaga endorsing "gay marriage" or Miley Cyrus endorsing a lethal drug like "molly", it's always easier to be an ignorant follower than be a rebel and lead by example:

An old drug with a hot new name is being blamed for two deaths at a New York City dance festival this holiday weekend, forcing an early end to the event.

Molly, as it’s now known, is a form of Ecstasy and is being linked to a recent string of overdoses.

Promoters shut down New York’s multi-day Electric Zoo music festival after the deaths of two young people. Police said 20-year-old Olivia Rotondo and 23-year-old Jeffery Russ died after taking Molly. Four others are in critical condition.

Molly, short for molecule, is supposed to be the purest form of MDMA, the main ingredient in Ecstasy.

“It raises your body temperature, your heart rate goes up, your blood pressure goes up, and so it does make you more prone to heat stroke,” said ABC News crime analyst Brad Garrett.

Molly has been popping up more frequently in pop culture, especially in music. At a concert last year, Madonna was caught on tape asking the crowd, “How many of you have seen Molly?” although she later said she was referring to a friend’s song. Additionally, hit songs from artists, including Kanye West and Miley Cyrus, reference the drug.

Officials warn that despite the innocent sounding name, Molly is a dangerous drug.

“It could have other amphetamines in it, it could cause you to overdose, and that may well have been the case in these deaths in recent days,” Garrett said.

Some law enforcement officials also said Molly is so dangerous because the people who take it tend to be recreational users and so they are more naive about its dangers.

John Kerry Had Lunch With Bashar al-Assad In 2009, Now Compares Him To 'Hitler'

Remember all the noise the liberal press made about former President George W. Bush holding hands with Prince Abdullah of Saudia Arabia? Well, as current Sec. of State and noted former failed presidential candidate and leftwing senator John Kerry goes around making the case for bombing Syria, let's see how much noise the liberal press makes about this sudden revelation:

An astonishing photograph of John Kerry having a cozy and intimate dinner with Bashar al-Assad has emerged at the moment the U.S Secretary of State is making the case to bomb the Syrian dictator's country and remove him from power.

Kerry, who compared Assad to Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein yesterday, is pictured around a small table with his wife Teresa Heinz and the Assads in 2009.

Assad and Kerry, then a Massachusetts senator, lean in towards each other and appear deep in conversation as their spouses look on.

The picture was likely taken in February 2009 in the Naranj restaurant in Damascus, when Kerry led a delegation to Syria to discuss finding a way forward for peace in the region.

While President Barack Obama has softened his military threat against Syria by putting the question to Congress and guaranteeing at least a week's delay, Kerry remains outspoken about the dangers posed by the Syrian regime.

He said that Assad 'has now joined the list of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein' in deploying chemical weapons against his own people.

Kerry said Sunday that the U.S. now has evidence that sarin nerve gas was used in Syria and that 'the case gets stronger by the day' for a military attack.

Justice Ruth Ginsburg Officiates At "Gay Wedding"

Two months after the Supreme Court's landmark ruling to expand federal recognition of same-sex marriages, striking down part of an anti-gay marriage law,  Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg officiated at a same-sex wedding.

The officiating is believed to be a first for a member of the nation's highest court. 

Ginsburg officiated Saturday at the marriage of Kennedy Center President Michael Kaiser and John Roberts, a government economist.

"Michael Kaiser is a friend and someone I much admire," Ginsburg said in a written statement Friday. "That is why I am officiating at his wedding."

The private ceremony took place at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a national memorial to President John F. Kennedy. The 80-year-old Ginsburg, an opera lover, is a frequent guest at the center.

Same-sex marriage is legal in the District of Columbia and 13 states.

"I think it will be one more statement that people who love each other and want to live together should be able to enjoy the blessings and the strife in the marriage relationship," Ginsburg told The Washington Post in an interview.

"It won't be long before there will be another" performed by a justice. She has another ceremony planned for September.

Kaiser told The Associated Press that he asked Ginsburg to officiate because she is a longtime friend.

"It's very meaningful mostly to have a friend officiate, and then for someone of her stature, it's a very big honor," Kaiser said. "I think that everything that's going on that makes same-sex marriage possible and visible helps to encourage others and to make the issue seem less of an issue, to make it just more part of life."

Justices generally avoid taking stands on political issues. 

While hearing arguments in the case in March, Ginsburg argued for treating marriages equally. The rights associated with marriage are pervasive, she said, and the law had created two classes of marriage, full and "skim-milk marriage."

Before the court heard arguments on the Defense of Marriage Act, Ginsburg told The New Yorker magazine in March that she had not performed a same-sex marriage and had not been asked. Justices do officiate at other weddings, though.

"I don't think anybody's asking us, because of these cases," she told the magazine. "No one in the gay-rights movement wants to risk having any member of the court be criticized or asked to recuse. So I think that's the reason no one has asked me."

Asked whether she would perform such a wedding in the future, she said: "Why not?"

Listen, conservatives have long known that Justice Ginsburg is a far-Left minion--she was a member of the ACLU for chrissakes. But this decision, to officiate a "gay wedding", wasn't just something Ginsburg was "doing for a friend", but an in-your-face diss towards Christians, social conservatives and anyone else who believes in and stands up for traditional marriage. Of course, she should now have to recuse herself from any future case that comes before SCOTUS involving same-sex wedding (or gays in general), but she won't. Because Justice Ginsburg doesn't care what you think and for all the disrespect Justices' Thomas and Scalia get for being 'too conservative' from the far-Left media, the hypocrites in the press will find a way to protect one of their favorite daughters.
