DC Protesters Throw Support For Joe Wilson Behind CNN Live Shot
BTW, Congressman Joe Wilson has also now gotten over $1million in campaign funds since his infamous "You lie!" slam of Barack Obama. Good for him.
Joe Wilson Was Right: Dems Remove Healthcare For Illegals Language

If Congressman Joe Wilson was so "out of order" the other night, than why are Barry and his people so busy, yunno, changing stuff up at the last minute:
The White House on Friday said it would bar illegal immigrants from purchasing health coverage through a proposed insurance marketplace. But the administration also said that the federal government would continue to require hospitals to provide emergency treatment to illegal immigrants at taxpayer expense.
The question of how illegal immigrants would fare under a proposed overhaul of the health care system came into sharp focus on Wednesday during President Obama’s speech to Congress. Representative Joe Wilson, Republican of South Carolina, shouted “You lie!” when Mr. Obama insisted that his health care overhaul would not insure illegal immigrants.
And the Obama administration’s determination to show that immigrants will not benefit from the health system overhaul highlighted the extraordinary sensitivity to the issue at a time when lawmakers still remain divided over whether the government should pay to provide health coverage for all American citizens.
A White House spokesman, Reid Cherlin, said that the president’s proposals would bar illegal immigrants from purchasing private insurance through the new government marketplace, known as an exchange, and that verification of immigration status would be required for anyone seeking to purchase coverage.
Although Mr. Obama in his speech referred to his “plan,” the White House has not developed a written legislative health care proposal and does not intend to do so, instead relying on committees in Congress, which have drafted several versions of the bill, some running more than 1,000 pages.
Mr. Cherlin said the White House was considering various enforcement options, including the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements program, which states now use to prevent illegal immigrants from accessing government aid programs for which they are not eligible.
Census Severs Ties With Liberal Organization ACORN

ABCBlogs.com:
The Census Bureau late this afternoon “severed” its relationship with the non-profit housing and grassroots community organizing group ACORN for the 2010 Census.
ACORN – the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now – bills itself as “the nation's largest community organization of low and moderate income families.”
Census Bureau spokesman Stephen Buckner said officials in the bureau, which is part of the Department of Commerce, had been concerned with news reports about ACORN for awhile and “had been monitoring them.”
Buckner said recent videotapes posted on BigGovernment.com and broadcast on Fox News -- showing a young man and young woman pretending to be a pimp and prostitute, declaring themselves such and apparently able to secure the help of ACORN employees in Washington D.C. , and Baltimore, in obtaining housing – was “the tipping point.”

Is Keith Olbermann Responsible For Shooting Deaths Of Two Anti-abortionists?

Considering the amount of fingers pointed at conservatives and anti-abortion activists by the Left after the shooting death of late-term abortionist George Tiller some months back (with Krazy Keith leading charge), it's only fitting that we ask if the feigned outrage displayed by Olbermann and his ilk helped create a climate of hate that led to the deaths of Jim Pouillon and Michael Fuoss. Not that we really care about what Olbermann thinks since hardly anyone watches his show, but would it hurt to check and see if Harlan Drake was one of the few who does?Authorities have charged an Owosso, Michigan, man with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder in the Friday shooting deaths of an anti-abortion activist and another man, a prosecutor's office said.
Authorities say the suspect, Harlan James Drake, was offended by anti-abortion material that the activist had displayed across from the school all week.
Drake, 33, is accused of shooting anti-abortion activist Jim Pouillon, 63, and Michael Fuoss, 61, who were killed in separate locations Friday morning, the prosecutor's office in Shiawassee County said.
Authorities also have charged Drake with a felony firearm count and carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, the prosecutor's office said.
Drake also is suspected of "attempting to locate a third victim without success," the office said.
He was arraigned Friday and is being held without bail, the office said. It was not immediately known whether he had an attorney.
Pouillon, whose anti-abortion activity was well-known in the area, was protesting across the street from Owosso High School about 7:20 a.m. Friday when he was killed by several shots fired from a passing vehicle, Owosso Police Chief Michael Compeau said. Several people witnessed the shooting, and one was able to provide a license number, he said. About an hour later, Owosso police officers found the suspect, Compeau said.
Liberal Organization ACORN Assists With Prostitution Ring
Some of these folks will soon be coming by your house to do the census, so be wary of who you choose to answer the door:
Two employees at the Baltimore, Maryland, branch of the liberal community organizing group ACORN were caught on tape allegedly offering advice to a pair posing as a pimp and prostitute on setting up a prostitution ring and evading the IRS."Sex is considered dancing, right?" LOL!!! And yeah, sadly these are the type of idiots who elected Barry and made him Liar-In-Chief.The video footage -- which has been edited and goes to black in some areas -- was recorded and and posted online Thursday by James O'Keefe, a conservative activist. He was joined on the video by another conservative, Hannah Giles, who posed as the prostitute in the filmmakers' undercover sting.
The video shows the pair approaching two women working at the ACORN Baltimore office and asking them for advice on how to set up a prostitution ring involving more than a dozen underage girls from El Salvador.
One of the ACORN workers suggests that Giles refer to herself as a "performing artist" on tax forms and declare some of the girls as dependents to receive child tax credits.
"Stop saying prostitution," the woman, identified by the filmmaker as an ACORN tax expert, tells Giles. The other woman tells them, "You want to keep them clean ... make sure they go to school."
Both women appear enthusiastic to help.
Calls to ACORN's Baltimore offices were not immediately returned Thursday. A local spokeswoman told The Associated Press that both employees seen in the video were fired.
Sunday School Teacher To Face Death In Killing Of 8-Year-Old Girl

CNN.com:
Prosecutors will seek the death penalty against a former California Sunday school teacher accused of killing an 8-year-old girl earlier this year.I've been following this story for awhile now and can't help but to have noticed the lack of attention given to it by the mainstream press. Makes me wonder if Melissa Huckaby being a woman has played into it, esp. considering how heinous the crime was and how the press, I feel, is biased towards violence against white women. Still, if Melissa Huckaby is found guilty, she should be given a sentence of life without the possibility of parole. The death penalty is forever wrong in my book.Melissa Huckaby, 28, was indicted last month in the death of Sandra Cantu, a playmate of Huckaby's daughter. Huckaby lived in the same mobile home park as Cantu and her family in Tracy, California.
Sandra's body was found April 6, stuffed into a suitcase and submerged in a pond at a dairy farm. She was last seen alive March 27 in the mobile home park.
Huckaby is charged with kidnapping and murdering Sandra, according to the indictment, along with lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 and rape by instrument. She pleaded not guilty in June, but entered another not guilty plea on Thursday at a hearing, minutes of which were provided to CNN by a court spokeswoman.
Prosecutors said at the hearing Thursday they plan to seek the death penalty.
Huckaby is the granddaughter of Clifford Lane Lawless, pastor of Clover Road Baptist Church near the mobile home park, and she taught Sunday school at the church, police said.
The church was searched as part of the investigation into Sandra's disappearance and death.

Joe Wilson Was Right, Obama LIED About Health Care For Illegals

Your President did lie last night:
For speaking out and telling the truth about Barack Obama last night, Congressman Joe Wilson has supposedly galvanized the liberal Democrat base while making himself a scorn to Obama's minions in the press and even his peers (idiot Claire McCaskill had the nerve to call Wilson a "jerk") in Congress. But what the Left fails to note is that is its Barack Obama who continues to lie to the American public while taking shots at those who dare oppose him, indeed Barry lied about the "death panels" language buried deep in his reform package too. Yet, Joe Wilson becomes the latest distraction for the tools on the Left to use, exploit and smear while they attempt to bully Americans into passing their radical left-wing, quasi-socialist agenda. Now, how convenient is that."The reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are
here illegally," PresidentObama said in acarefully worded statement
to a Joint Session of Congress and the American public last night.
The problem, notes the Federation for American Immigration
Reform (FAIR), is that the health care reforms proposed in H.R. 3200,
America's Affordable Health Care Act of 2009, clearly would benefit
illegal aliens.
"Perhaps the reforms that President Obama advocates would not cover
illegal aliens, but those are not the reforms currently under
consideration by Congress," commented Dan Stein, president of FAIR.
"H.R. 3200, the legislation that the House will be voting on, would
allow illegal aliens to benefit from the government-financed public
option, and includes no verification provisions to prevent illegal aliens
from receiving taxpayer subsidies to purchase private health insurance."
President Obama's assertion that illegal alien would not be covered
under AAHCA is directly contradicted by an August 25 report, Treatment
of Noncitizens in H.R. 3200, issued by the Congressional Research Service.
The nonpartisan research arm of Congress concluded, "H.R. 3200 does
not contain any restrictions on noncitizens - whether legally or illegal
present, or in the United States temporarily or permanently- participating
in the [Health Insurance] Exchange."
Once in the Exchange, participants are free to enroll in the government
run health insurance program. This public option, established under
H.R. 3200, would be heavily or entirely subsidized by the American
taxpayers. While illegal aliens are barred from receiving "affordability
credits" to help pay for private insurance, CRS noted the absence of any
mechanism in the bill to verify citizenship or legal residency.
"There is no reason why the controversy over whether illegal aliens
will be eligible for massive health care subsidies should persist," said Stein.
"The president, congressional leaders, and the public all agree they should
not. The authors of H.R. 3200 can easily remove the ambiguities from the
House bill, and Senate leaders caninclude specific language barring illegal
aliens from all nonemergency benefits in the bill that is being written
in that chamber.
"President Obama himself can also play an important role in seeing to it
that his wishes are carried out by publicly urging leaders of both houses
to include clear, unambiguous language in their legislation that would
preclude illegal aliens from coverage under his health care reform
proposal," Stein continued. "FAIR stands ready to work with the White
House and congressional leaders to develop legislative language that would make
sure that President Obama's pledge to the American people is fulfilled."
Health Care Experts Say Obama LIED About Public Option Too

The Liar-In-Chief not only told an untruth about illegal aliens getting healthcare, but that nonsense about an unlimited public option was a bunch of BS too:
Health care policy researchers are contradicting President Obama's claim that a government-run health insurance program would be self-sufficient and could rely on premiums, saying it's not possible to insure up to 30 million people with better coverage and reduce costs at the same time.
"The numbers don't hold up," Grace Marie Turner, president of the Galen Institute, a think tank devoted to health policy, said Thursday.
In his case to the joint session of Congress Wednesday night, Obama cited the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office to contend that less than 5 percent of Americans would sign up for a so-called public option.
The July report by the CBO projected that 6 million people would enroll in a government-run program, considerably fewer than the 100 million estimated by The Lewin Group, a health care policy research group, or the 47 million predicted by the left-leaning Urban Institute.
The CBO offered its figure as part of an evaluation of one of the four congressional health bills floating through Congress right now. Asked whether a public plan would draw a significant number of Americans covered by private insurance, the congressional budget arm acknowledged that larger companies were not included in the assumptions.

Rep. Joe Wilson Calls Obama A "Liar" During ObamaCare Speech
Yeah, it's flat-out wrong to call the POTUS a "liar," especially during a joint session of Congress, but where was the Left's "civility" and "respect" for the President for the last 8 years again?
Then too, as I've said before, Barack Obama just doesn't come off as 'Presidential' to me--I don't care how hard he tries to look the part, he just doesn't give off the aura as being the leader of the free world.
As for the speech, it's still Ted Kennedy's plan, regardless of Barry trying to put his stamp on it tonight. Mandated insurance coverage for all and 7 paragraphs on the public option with little conciliation for Republicans--any wonder the Left loved his latest talkfest so much?
When Poppa Bush Spoke To Schoolkids, Democrats Called For Congressional Investigation

The Left is angry, to say the least, about the reaction by some on the Right to Barry's speech to schoolkids today, going so far as to call conservative parents "stupid" and the like (name-calling is what they do when you dare to disagree with The One). But now comes word that when Poppa Bush was in charge and gave an innocent speech to school children on responsibility and the value of education, the other party--that would be Democrats--pitched a fit would belittle anything we're seeing now:
Once again, hypocrisy and the Left are shown to go together like hand fits glove. The controversy over President Obama's speech to the nation's schoolchildren will likely be over shortly after Obama speaks today at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. But when President George H.W. Bush delivered a similar speech on October 1, 1991, from Alice Deal Junior High School in Washington DC, the controversy was just beginning. Democrats, then the majority party in Congress, not only denounced Bush's speech -- they also ordered the General Accounting Office to investigate its production and later summoned top Bush administration officials to Capitol Hill for an extensive hearing on the issue.
Unlike the Obama speech, in 1991 most of the controversy came after, not before, the president's school appearance. The day after Bush spoke, the Washington Post published a front-page story suggesting the speech was carefully staged for the president's political benefit. "The White House turned a Northwest Washington junior high classroom into a television studio and its students into props," the Post reported.
With the Post article in hand, Democrats pounced. "The Department of Education should not be producing paid political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce smarter students," said Richard Gephardt, then the House Majority Leader. "And the president should be doing more about education than saying, 'Lights, camera, action.'"
Democrats did not stop with words. Rep. William Ford, then chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, ordered the General Accounting Office to investigate the cost and legality of Bush's appearance. On October 17, 1991, Ford summoned then-Education Secretary Lamar Alexander and other top Bush administration officials to testify at a hearing devoted to the speech. "The hearing this morning is to really examine the expenditure of $26,750 of the Department of Education funds to produce and televise an appearance by President Bush at Alice Deal Junior High School in Washington, DC," Ford began. "As the chairman of the committee charged with the authorization and implementation of education programs, I am very much interested in the justification, rationale for giving the White House scarce education funds to produce a media event."
Unfortunately for Ford, the General Accounting Office concluded that the Bush administration had not acted improperly. "The speech itself and the use of the department's funds to support it, including the cost of the production contract, appear to be legal," the GAO wrote in a letter to Chairman Ford. "The speech also does not appear to have violated the restrictions on the use of appropriations for publicity and propaganda."
Thomas Sowell: Obama Is A Liar

Great op-ed from the esteemed Mr. Sowell:
The most important thing about what anyone says are not the words themselves but the credibility of the person who says them.
The words of convicted swindler Bernie Madoff were apparently quite convincing to many people who were regarded as knowledgeable and sophisticated. If you go by words, you can be led into anything. No doubt millions of people will be listening to the words of President Barack Obama Wednesday night when he makes a televised address to a joint session of Congress on his medical care plans. But, if they think that the words he says are what matters, they can be led into something much worse than being swindled out of their money.
One plain fact should outweigh all the words of Barack Obama and all the impressive trappings of the setting in which he says them: He tried to rush Congress into passing a massive government takeover of the nation's medical care before the August recess -- for a program that would not take effect until 2013!
Whatever President Obama is, he is not stupid. If the urgency to pass the medical care legislation was to deal with a problem immediately, then why postpone the date when the legislation goes into effect for years -- more specifically, until the year after the next presidential election?
If this is such an urgently needed program, why wait for years to put it into effect? And if the public is going to benefit from this, why not let them experience those benefits before the next presidential election?
If it is not urgent that the legislation goes into effect immediately, then why don't we have time to go through the normal process of holding congressional hearings on the pros and cons, accompanied by public discussions of its innumerable provisions? What sense does it make to "hurry up and wait" on something that is literally a matter of life and death?
If we do not believe that the president is stupid, then what do we believe? The only reasonable alternative seems to be that he wanted to get this massive government takeover of medical care passed into law before the public understood what was in it. Moreover, he wanted to get re-elected in 2012 before the public experienced what its actual consequences would be.

Finally, Jon Gosselin grows a pair and speaks on the days of living hell that was being married to wife Kate.
'Black Militant' Van Jones Is Married To A White Chick

This is too funny:
I commented last week in one of the threads that Van Jones, the now-former green jobs czar for the Obama administration, was an Eldridge Cleaveresque black nationalist. Mr. Jones reminds Duane Brayboy, a conservative blogger, of the "talk black, sleep white" black nationalist character in "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka" (1988): "Just some closing point on Van Jones~From "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!":
# Jones said that he was a victim of a 'vicious smear campaign' against him. So now it is considered a 'smear' if your past comments and actions are repeated to the public.
# I, we, all expected, Van Jones’ departure is being blamed on race. The left is gonna burn up all their race cards – and we have not completed one year of Obama’s Presidency. Seriously, all this race card business is shaping up into a live version of the boy who cried 'wolf'. More sooner than later, the race card is going to lose its effectiveness.
# I have no problem at all with interracial marriages. But all I could do was laugh when I saw the following picture. Van Jones is 'Kalinga'."
MSNBC: Anyone Complaining About Obama's Speech To Schoolkids Is Too Stupid To Raise Kids
You must be RACIST!!! to dare criticize The One (btw, he's Black yunno). STUPID!!! to be concerned about what the one-time most liberal senator in all of Congress tells your child. HATEFUL!!! if you disagree with his quasi-socialist policies.
This is what passes for debate with the Left. Sad, but true. Any wonder why people are fed up?

In other words, their collective heads are so far up Obama's ass, is it any wonder that they fail to their job time and time again?
Obama 'Fired Up' For Health Care Speech Wednesday
Breitbart.com:
President Barack Obama seems fired up and ready to go.I'm actually in agreement with some on the Left, that this is what Obama should be doing: taking it to the people. If Barry feels so strongly about universal healthcare, then go on TV, spell out this healthcare overhaul package, what makes it so important and convince the American public why we need healthcare reform so badly in this country.Warming up for Wednesday's speech to the nation on his vision for an overhauled health care system, an animated Obama retold the story of how the phrase "fired up, ready to go" became a rallying cry during his presidential campaign.
Addressing thousands of union supporters at a Labor Day picnic in Cincinnati on Monday, Obama recalled a presidential campaign stop in Greenwood, S.C., after what seemed like an endless, 90-minute drive.
He was soaked by rain and in the worst of moods but said he soon felt inspired by a lively city councilwoman who spent several minutes hollering "fired up, ready to go" at the 20 or so people who came to see him.
"After about a minute or two, I'm starting to feel kind of fired up. I'm starting to feel like I'm ready to go. So I start joining in the chant, and it's making me feel good," Obama said at the AFL-CIO picnic.
Barry promised transparency over and over when he was trying to get elected and so far he's failed miserably to live up to that promise. So forget the sanctimonious, partisan BS. Americans have a right to be concerned proposed changes to their healthcare. They have a right to be worried about that their doctor may end up having to take on a part-time job at UPS. They have a right to be worried about decisions on their health being made by federal employees. They have a right to be worried about language supporting "death panels" and other rumors they've heard about a healthcare reform package created solely by one party: Democrats. Americans all over are up in arms about healthcare reform and come Wednesday Barry needs to provide them with the proper answers.
Sarah Palin Calls AP's Use Of Dead Soldier's Picture "Heartless" & "Selfish"

CNN.com:
Sarah Palin is calling the AP's decision to release a battlefield photo of a dying Marine over the family's objection "an evil thing to do."It's times like this when Sarah Palin reminds you of why you loved her in the first place. In a Sunday night post on her Facebook page, the former Alaska governor called the photo released this week of Lance Corporal Joshua Bernard's dying moments on the battlefield in Afghanistan a "sacred image."
"Many of us join Secretary Gates in condemning the Associated Press for its heartless and selfish decision to turn its back on the wishes of a grieving family in order to exploit the tragic death of a true American hero," she wrote.
The release of the photo was "a despicable and heartless act by the AP," said Palin. "The family said they didn't want the photo published. AP, you did it anyway, and you know it was an evil thing to do.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bernard family. …"

Sex Offender To Be Ordained As Minister
Forgiveness is one thing, but letting a convicted sex offender become a priest is just crossing the line. There's just certain heinous acts that warrant lifetime restrictions no matter how much professional help you've gotten and/or how much remorse you've shown.
Liberals Want Obama To Chase After Olympia Snowe

Can you blame them? They know that they don't have the votes, so why not go after a RINO whose turned her back on the GOP time and time again:
Given Mike Enzi's departure from the bipartisan talks and the imminent collapse of the Gang of Six, it looks like there's just one Republican Senator still willing to negotiate seriously with the Democrats-Olympia Snowe. Even if the leadership decides to take a more partisan route for the bill, Snowe is sometimes more liberal than the right flank of the Democratic Party, and her vote could still be critical to reform's survival. But what does she really want out of the current bill? And is she in a place where she can still see eye-to-eye with the Democratic leadership? Over the past few days, I've spoken with close observers of the debate, both on and off the Hill, to get a better sense of Snowe's positions on the key issues that will shape the final Finance Committee bill. Here's the quick rundown on where Snowe appears to stand, based on my reporting so far:
-Supports the public plan-but only as a fall-back option. Snowe has essentially maintained the same position that she came to months ago: a government-run insurance plan that would be a fall-back option, only if the reforms to the private insurance industry did not provide adequate savings. This is the "trigger" option has largely fallen to the wayside in the midst of the hysteria over the public plan and the popularity of Kent Conrad's co-op plan. Snowe is continuing to lobby her colleagues to support what she calls a "safety net plan" to avoid the politically combustible association with the liberals' "public plan."
-May agree to scale back insurance subsidies, but allows room for negotiation. The Finance Committee has already indicated that they plan to scale back the subsidies to help low-income individuals to buy insurance, providing help to those earning up to 300% above the poverty line, as opposed to the 400% that's in the HELP/House bills. Snowe argues that most of the uninsured fall below the 300% mark, though-according to multiple sources-she believes there are some "unique problems" that those in the 300-400% range face. She is going to continue deliberating ways to help these individuals in negotiations. But it's not clear what those mechanisms might be if Finance isn't willing to budge from the lower figure--and if Snowe's not willing to fight to push it higher:
-Wants financing for the bill to come from within the health care system. Snowe apparently wants to finance the bill from "within the health care system," according to one source, and expects much of the savings to come from industry groups and cost-savings measures within the system. But for meaningful reform to happen, more money will probably have to be put on the table--and the means for doing so might not be to Snowe's liking. Back in May, she spoke out against putting a cap on the tax exclusion of employer-sponsored benefits, opposing a significant potential revenue stream for the bill. Altogether, it's still unclear whether she will support taxing individuals-either within or outside the system-to pay for the bill.
-Supports a reduction of the minimum benefits that all insurance policies would have to provide. The "actuarial standard" basically means the percentage of medical bills that insurance would have to cover. The HELP bill set this at 75%, while Snowe seems inclined to support something closer to 65%. According to my sources, it's partly because Snowe thinks this is less of a priority for the public-they don't understand this provision very well and are more concerned about, say, the high cost of insurance premiums. And plans that provide fewer benefits are bound to cost less.

Krazy Keith is literally pleading with the loons on the Left to send him every "rumor or slander" they can find on Glenn Beck. All because Beck and other conservatives did the job that Obama minions in the press failed to do: tell the truth about a 9/11 Truther and communist working for the Obama administration.
I don't even like Glenn Beck and I'm still waiting for him to apologize for pulling a Kanye West and calling Obama a "racist" a few weeks back. But Keith Olbermann, desperate for ratings and too stupid to acknowledge the truth, now goes after the controversial, but popular (the man who pulls in thrice the ratings "Countdown" does) Beck, hoping against hope that any brouhaha he can create from an Olbermann vs. Beck "feud" will get him more viewers.
Now how sad is that?

Howard Dean Defends 9/11 Truther Van Jones

FAILED former DNC chairman and FAILED Democrat candidate for President Howard Dean weighs in on far-Left communist and 9/11 Truther Van Jones:
Van Jones, U.S. President Barack Obama's former "green jobs czar," was "brought down," former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean said Sunday.Jones resigned over the weekend after being criticized for past associations with conspiracy theorists who claim the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks were orchestrated by the Bush administration. Dean, appearing on "Fox News Sunday," defended Jones, saying his resignation was the result of a Republican Party campaign against him.
"This guy's a Yale-educated lawyer," Dean said. "He's a best-selling author about his specialty. I think he was brought down, and I think it's too bad. Washington's a tough place that way, and I think it's a loss for the country."
Jones had been criticized for signing a 2004 petition alleging some connection between Sept. 11 and the U.S. government. But Dean said he talked to Jones recently and that he indicated he was misled about what he was signing.
A Victory For Conservatives: Obama Czar & Communist Van Jones Resigns

A victory for conservatives:
President Barack Obama's adviser Van Jones has resigned amid controversy over past inflammatory statements, the White House said early Sunday.Van Jones, an administration official specializing in environmentally friendly "green jobs" with the White House Council on Environmental Quality was linked to efforts suggesting a government role in the 2001 terror attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.
The resignation comes as Obama is working to regain his footing in the contentious health care debate.
Jones issued an apology on Thursday for his past statements. When asked the next day whether Obama still had confidence in him, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said only that Jones "continues to work in the administration."
The matter surfaced after news reports of a derogatory comment Jones made in the past about Republicans, and separately, of Jones' name appearing on a petition connected to the events surrounding the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks. That 2004 petition had asked for congressional hearings and other investigations into whether high-level government officers had allowed the attacks to occur.
"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones said in his resignation statement. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."
No, it wasn't a 'smear campaign', it was something we conservatives like to refer to as facts. Van Jones is a communist, 9/11 Truther, radical left-wing crackpot and certified Bush-hater. Jones resigned because the truth caught up to him and Barack Obama embarrassed himself and this country by giving this far-Left loon a cabinet post within his administration. And what with all the other corrupt figures in the Obama administration, a health care reform package that sees no signs of passing and approval ratings now dipping into the 40's, hopefully this is the beginning of the end for Barack Obama.
