Obama Channels Bush, Wants More War Funding

WSJ.com:
President Barack Obama plans to request new funding from Congress for the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, but he risks a backlash from antiwar lawmakers.Uh oh, seems like the more the Barry wakes up and realizes that those terrorists guys won't sit down for tea and biscuits, actually are, yunno, kinda dangerous and channels his predecessor in seeking war funds, the more his minions will start to insult him and abandon ship. Daring to put the safety of our country first on matters such wiretaps also now has them whining. Not to say that Barry will ever recognize the true colors of his either-you're-with-us-100%-or-nothing trolls, but hey the more upset they get, the more you get the feeling that we're doing something right.Mr. Obama is expected to seek congressional approval of $75.5 billion for the wars, perhaps as soon as Thursday. The issue is already raising tensions on Capitol Hill, especially among liberals who are sympathetic to the president's broader agenda but voice concerns about his timeline for withdrawal of troops from Iraq and his plans to beef up forces in Afghanistan.
"I can't imagine any way I'd vote for it," said Rep. Lynn Woolsey, a California Democrat and leader in the 77-member congressional Progressive Caucus. It would be her first major break with this White House.
Ms. Woolsey fears the president's plan for Iraq would leave behind a big occupation force. She is also concerned about the planned escalation in Afghanistan. "I don't think we should be going there," she said.
Similar sentiments echo across the House. Rep. Jim McGovern (D., Mass.) said he fears Afghanistan could become a quagmire. "I just have this sinking feeling that we're getting deeper and deeper into a war that has no end," he said.
Rep. John Conyers (D., Mich.) dismissed Mr. Obama's plans as "embarrassingly naive," and suggested that the president is being led astray by those around him. "He's the smartest man in American politics today," Rep. Conyers said. "But he occasionally gets bad advice and makes mistakes. This is one of those instances."
The supplemental-spending request is intended to provide funding for the wars through the balance of the fiscal year, which ends Sept. 30, and into the early weeks of fiscal 2010. Beginning in fiscal 2010, Mr. Obama intends for the wars to be funded as part of the regular Pentagon budget. That is a change from the Bush White House, which annually sought war funding outside the regular military budget.
Obama Wants You To Sue For Global Warming "Damages"

Newsmax.com:
Guess that recent meeting between Barry and Al Gore went well--for Gore, that is. Now private businesses already being hurt by the struggling economy can look forward to frivolous lawsuits by yahoos claiming they were harmed by the hoax that is global warming. The U.S. is already the most litigious country in the world and because of a scam artist by the name of Al Gore, Barack Obama plans to make it worse."Victims" of climate change would be able to sue the federal government or private businesses over greenhouse gas emissions under language buried in the House climate bill, according to a report in the Washington Times.
Under the provision, anyone "who has suffered, or reasonably expects to suffer, a harm attributable, in whole or in part," to government inaction to file a "citizen suit."
The term “harm” is broadly defined as “any effect of air pollution (including climate change), currently occurring or at risk of occurring.”
The United Nations scientific panel studying climate change predicts in its latest report that the global climate is likely to rise between 3.5 and 8 degrees Fahrenheit if the carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere reaches twice the level of 1750.
By 2100, sea levels are likely to rise between 7 to 23 inches, it said, and the changes now underway will continue for centuries to come, according to a report in the New York Times.
If the worst case climate scenario comes to pass and the House provision makes its way into the final climate bill signed by the President, lawyers may be in for a field day of litigation.
“You could be spawning lawsuits at almost any place [climate-change modeling] computers place at harm’s risk,” Bill Kovacs, energy lobbyist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, told the Times.
Murder Charges In Nick Adenhart DUI Killing

CNN.com:
The man police say was driving drunk when he ran a red light and struck a car, killing a Major League Baseball pitcher and two others has been charged with murder.Good. This country has been way too lenient in convicting drunk drivers who kill. I'm far from being any kind of law expert, but every time I see some scumbag who willfully decides to get behind a car drunk, kill someone and then later get off with just a few years in jail, it enrages me. My understanding of first-degree murder is that the prosecution has to show signs of malice in order for the charge to stick. In this case we have a man whose been arrested before for drunk driving, now with a suspended license, AGAIN deciding to get behind a wheel while intoxicated. And now 3 innocent people are dead because of it. That sounds like a ton of malice to me. Besides, Gallo's criminal record speaks for itself and on top of that the coward left the scene of the crime--he should never be allowed to see daylight again.Andrew Thomas Gallo, 22, was charged with three counts of murder, driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a crime, the Orange County district attorney's office announced Friday.
Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart was among those killed in the crash in Fullerton, California, early Thursday morning. Adenhart was beginning his first full season in the majors and had pitched his fourth Major League game hours earlier.
Gallo, whose blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit, according to police, faces up to life in prison if convicted on all charges.
According to the DA's office, Gallo was driving a minivan 65 mph in a 35 mph zone at about 12:35 a.m. Thursday. He was on probation and his license had been suspended after a previous drunk-driving charge.

Rick Warren Backslides On Gay Marriage

What a coward:
A Washington, DC, pastor and outspoken opponent of same-sex "marriage" says California mega-church pastor Rick Warren has done "tremendous damage" by apologizing for his support last fall of California's marriage protection amendment. If you're too afraid to stand up for your beliefs (much less God's word) then get off the damn pulpit and let somebody with cajones get up there who will. We expect politicians to play both sides of the fence and each passing day Rick Warren looks just like one.Rick Warren said Monday on CNN's Larry King Live that he has "never been and never will be" an "anti-gay marriage activist," and made a point to inform the program's host that he apologized to his homosexual friends for comments he made in October to his church in support of Proposition 8 in California. Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr., with the High Impact Leadership Coalition says he was very disappointed with Warren's statements on CNN.
"This man who's been called the next Billy Graham, who I really respect with all my heart and love what he's doing in Africa, is falling into a trap that is emblematic of the problem that the entire church is facing in this generation," Jackson states. "And that is that we love the applause of men more than we love the work of God and the gospel. Jesus...told us that we are to honor God first, and that we are not to fear men but we're to fear God."

New Jersey Man Claims Bruce Springsteen Slept With His Wife

NYDailyNews.com:
Besides his music Bruce Springsteen is well-known for his far-Left political activism. What does that have to do with the possibility that he cheated on his wife? Well, liberals are known for plenty of things and having morals is not one of them.Is Bruce Springsteen really the other man in a divorce battle?
Yes, according to a heartbroken husband, who is accusing the rock 'n' roll legend of ruining his marriage.
New Jersey businessman Arthur Kelly filed divorce papers last month alleging that his wife, Ann, "committed adultery with one Bruce Springsteen," reports Star magazine.
The Monmouth County couple was together for 17 years and have two daughters.
Springsteen, who also lives in New Jersey, met Ann while working out, but there is nothing going on between them, an insider told the mag.
"Ann says she and Bruce are just friends, but there have been rumors going around the area for more than a year that they had gotten way too close after meeting at a local gym," said the source.
Neither Springsteen nor Ann have responded to the allegations, but Arthur's attorney Edward Fradkin told Star, "The papers speak for themselves."
Stu Rasmussen, First Tranny Mayor, To Get Own Reality Show
The Sick:
Silverton, Oregon, is the first US city to have an openly transgendered mayor. In just a matter of weeks, it might also become the first city in America to have a transgender mayor as a star of his own reality show for educational purposes, as Komo News informs and Oregon Live can confirm.
Stu Rasmussen is a 60-year-old software engineer who has over 20 years of experience in politics. He’s also in a stable relationship with his live-in girlfriend, who says they’ve been together for better and for worse for the past 35 years.
There is nothing out of the ordinary with Rasmussen, the people in Silverton say, so this reality show will not be about this peculiarity of his personal life. It will focus, instead, on the ups and downs of working with small-town government, so, in the end, its purpose will be an educational one.
“We’d like to think it’s going to be educational. A lot of people do not understand how small towns work, how government works.” Rasmussen tells Komo News. “Well, we hope it’s going to be more interesting than the civics class I had in high school.” he adds.
Levi Johnston vs. Sarah Palin
I'm with Levi on this one. This kid was used by the Palin's on the campaign trail and now it seems like Sarah Palin is trying to smear him after Levi and her daughter broke up recently. Considering what he's up against (and that Bristol Palin first spoke out on the break-up), the kid has a right to tell his side of the story, just hope that he doesn't let the media use him as a pawn.
Montel Williams Wants To Run For Public Office

CNN.com:
Does Montel Williams want to embark on the well-worn path from television personality to politician? In a Thursday interview with Politico, Williams, who was a daytime talk show host for 17 years and is launching a radio show on Air America this week, said running for office is something he wants to do — just not anytime soon.
"The sight in mind is 17 years in radio — I may have to take a break for just a little while in those 17 years to run for office, but that won't be for at least ten years," he told Politico. " So you going to be listening to me to persuade others to do the right thing, and then I'm going to step up myself."
Williams, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and is a prominent advocate for legalizing marijuana for medicinal purposes, also said he has had discussions at "multiple levels of government about the responsibility of us all who feel as if we have the audacity to open our mouths and complain about what happens in our society and then not step up to the plate to do something about it."
The best way to do something about it is through public service," he said.
Funny that. Not that Williams wouldn't fit right in the world of politics, he's been a bullying, jive, fast-talking, liberal, con artist for years and his ability to cry on a whim should definitely appeal to voters of the female persuasion. So hey, why not?

Keith Olbermann Pwnes Barack Obama
"Welcome to change you CAN NOT believe in." LOL!!!
Gotta give Krazy Keith some credit here to his ummm....true fans and getting in Barry's ass, finally realizing that the Teleprompter-In-Chief is nothing but a politician. Not that most Americans have a problem with the Left's obsession with protecting potential terrorists "rights". Hey, I'm no terrorist, if it helps protect me from Muslim extremists, Big Brother can listen in to my convos anytime they want.
Rick Sanchez Trying Desperately To Be Keith Olbermann: Exploits Pittsburgh Cop Killings To Score Liberal Talking Points
Newsbusters.org:
CNN’s Rick Sanchez returned to blasting conservatives on Wednesday’s Newsroom program, blaming the murder of three Pittsburgh police officers on the Fox News Channel and other media on the right: “That weekend tragedy involves a man who allegedly shot and killed three police officers in cold blood. Why? Because he was convinced, after no doubt watching Fox News and listening to right-wing radio, that quote, ‘Our rights were being infringed upon.’” He tag-teamed with Media Matters fellow Eric Boehlert to argue that conservative media personalities like Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity were offering “garden-variety fear and hate mongering...night in and night out.”Again, the Left could care less about those grieving over the loss of these brave officers, especially when they can use the story to channel their hate for conservatives. It's the depth they're consistently willing to sink themselves to.
One could be sure that Sanchez would be pointing his finger squarely at his competitors on the right from the first moment he mentioned the gun issue, which was 13 minutes into the CNN program. After playing audio of gunshots from the Pittsburgh murders, he gave the following promo: “What you’re hearing there is three police officers killed by a man who thought President Obama would take away his guns. Who put that thought in his head? And how many more Americans believe that? Could it be 1.2 million Americans? You’re going to see why I’m asking that question.” Sanchez gave a further hint that his target was Fox News during another promo ten minutes later: “Are Americans being fed a pack of lies about President Obama and guns laws? And is it creating a gun buying panic? “We’ll report, you decide.” That’s not too obvious is it?
Billy Bob Thornton Is An A-hole
This is some interview Angelina Jolie's ex-husband did with a Canadian radio station yesterday to promote his band. Apparently, there was some misunderstanding as the host wasn't supposed to mention Billy Bob's film career, so that gave him a right to be a complete dick.
George Stephanopoulos Continues To Shill For Barack Obama

MediaResearch.org:
Assessing President Barrack Obama's overseas trip, ABC's George Stephanopoulos proposed it was “a real test for the President” and, no surprise, decided “he passed it pretty easily” since “he was confident, he had a sense of command in his personal and his public diplomacy, forged strong relationships with his European counterparts...” Furthermore, Stephanopoulos admired Obama's “strong” unannounced visit to troops in Iraq, touting how the President “capped off” his travels “with this critical visit to the troops. When you've got American troops fighting on two fronts, you have to end that visit with a strong visit with the troops, and he did.”Stephanopoulus is a joke, his journalistic integrity now totally shot. Whether it was using our troops for a photo op, bowing down to a foreign leader, accusing our country of not being Christian or failing to push Turkey to recognize its genocide against Armenians, the Teleprompter-In-Chief's first tour overseas was a disaster.Asked by anchor Charles Gibson to list some minuses, Stephanopoulos acknowledged “good feelings with your allies don't guarantee agreement,” citing Obama's inability to secure help in Afghanistan and with North Korea, but the host of ABC's This Week wrapped up with how the White House is pleased with the trip -- as if it were possible they wouldn't be: “They feel this trip went exactly as they planned. They couldn't be happier. Now they're going to come back home and focus again on the economy.”
Norm Coleman's Last Shot Is Minnesota Supreme Court

That's the only conclusion one can draw from this, that and a prayer along with a miracle:
Minnesota has just finished counting the 351 previously-rejected ballots approved by the three-judge panel as having been legally cast and rejected in error. The numbers: Al Franken 198, Norm Coleman 111, Other 42.Wow, Chuck Schumer is one of the a-holes calling on Norm Coleman to concede. Norm Coleman should use every available option he has left despite the dire circumstances. He has that right. He has to fight to the end for his constituents. This means that Al Franken's lead has increased from the 225 he had going into today, up to 312 votes out of roughly 2.9 million. We still need to wait for the judges to rule on the remaining issues, but the vote-counting during the election contest-proper is done.
The only way for Coleman to overcome this lead would be to win an appeal against the election court's prior rulings in favor of strict standards to let in new ballots, or to somehow win his much more far-fetched proposal to retroactively declare a number of absentee votes illegal and deduct them from the totals based on countywide averages. The first one is more likely in terms of feasibility, and even that's a long shot, leaving the Coleman camp at their other proposal to "set aside" the election result entirely.

Joe Biden: Doofus - Part 6

Newsmax.com:
Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday his predecessor, Dick Cheney, is "dead wrong" when he says President Barack Obama's national security policies are making the United States less safe. Biden said the exact opposite is true and added that President George W. Bush's vice president was part of a dysfunctional decision-making system.
"I don't think he is out of line, but he is dead wrong. ... The last administration left us in a weaker posture than we've been any time since World War II: less regarded in the world, stretched more thinly than we ever have been in the past, two wars under way, virtually no respect in entire parts of the world," Biden said. "And so we've been about the business of repairing and strengthening those. I guarantee you we are safer today, our interests are more secure today than they were any time during the eight years" of the Bush administration.
Since becoming president, Obama has ordered the closing of the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and banned certain interrogation methods for suspected terrorists.
"Weaker posture"?!? Yeah, that's why we haven't been attacked in 7 years. That's why most of Al Qaeda's leaders have been taken out. Bozo the VP just doesn't get it--the U.S. was considered an enemy by Muslim extremists long before George W. Bush took office and coddling terrorists will make us less safer. Biden can criticize Cheney all he wants (personally I think Cheney should STFU and at least wait a year to criticize the current administration's foreign policy), but going after President Bush, when we haven't been attacked since 9/11 is just stupid and ass backwards.
Eminem Raps About Having Sex With Sarah Palin
It's funny how after the Left came down on this clown and accused him of being "homophobic" (after years of bashing gays in lyrics), he switched his whole game up--performing with gay icon Elton John, bashing former President Bush and going after religious groups and the Right in verse and song. Indeed, for all the credit he gets for his rap skills and supposed ingenuity, it seems to me that when push comes to shove, Marshall Mathers is nothing but a coward.
DKos Leads Liberal Trolls Into Blaming Glenn Beck For Pittsburgh Cop Killings
Hey, Charles Manson was a fan of the Beach Boys. The Son of Sam blamed a talking dog for his murders. And now, despite a lack of evidence pointing to any direct link, liberals are blaming conservative pundit Glenn Beck for Richard Poplawski killing 3 police officers the other day, apparently because Poplawski was a Nazi-loving, gun nut who was scared that Barack Obama was going to take away his guns. That's the spill first put out at DKos headquarters and like good little mice, his herd has followed, as seen here, here and here. I mean what's a cop killing if you can't exploit it for political gain?

Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty On Two Felony Charges Of Assualt

MTVNews.com:
An expressionless Chris Brown arrived to an L.A. County criminal courthouse Monday afternoon (April 6) and pleaded not guilty to two felony charges of assault and making criminal threats stemming from his alleged altercation with girlfriend Rihanna on the eve of this year's Grammy Awards.
The singer arrived 25 minutes late for his scheduled 3 p.m. PT court appointment. Brown was wearing all black and showed no emotion as he entered the courthouse to a mix of fans cheering and protesters demonstrating against domestic abuse. A police escort ushered Brown into the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Center promptly after he exited his black SUV. Brown, 19, was also accompanied by four bodyguards and his mother, Joyce Hawkins. Hawkins was seated in the front row during her son's hearing and her eyes appeared to be red, perhaps from crying.
Brown was in court for less than 15 minutes as he quickly entered his plea and left the courtroom. The singer and his lawyer didn't answer any questions afterward. The only words the singer uttered was a hushed "not guilty, your honor," after Judge Patricia Schnegg read the charges against him.
Mark Geragos, who is representing Brown in the case, said in court that more discovery is needed. The lawyer is seeking a plea deal and the negotiations have been characterized as "serious," according to a report this past weekend from TMZ. A number of unrelated reports have stated that the parties might be close to reaching a deal.
I think that he'll cop a plea deal based on some first offender nonsense, serve no jail time, get probation and/or mandatory counseling and get to move on with his life as long as he stays out of trouble. Chris Brown is not the monster that the media is portraying him out to be, he's a young man who made a huge mistake and he needs help to deal with his anger. As does Rihanna, who from all the reports I've read, seems to be doing just fine. The biggest mistake here would be for Brown and Rihanna to get back together without getting professional help first, plus they need to stay away from each other for awhile anyway.
Supreme Court Refuses To Grant Mumia Abu-Jamal A New Trial

FOXNews.com:
Looks like the Left's favorite cop killer will be spending the rest of his life behind bars.Mumia Abu-Jamal has lost his bid for a new trial in the killing of a Philadelphia police officer in 1981.
The Supreme Court said Monday it will not take up Abu-Jamal's claims that prosecutors improperly excluded blacks from the jury that convicted him of murdering Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner.
The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia upheld Abu-Jamal's conviction but held his death sentence invalid. The appeals court said it would not second-guess state court rulings rejecting Abu-Jamal's claims of bias in the composition of the jury.
The high court considered only the conviction. The state has separately asked the court to reinstate the death sentence, but the justices have not acted on that request.
A Philadelphia jury convicted Abu-Jamal, who is black, of killing Faulkner, who was white, in 1981 after the patrolman pulled over Abu-Jamal's brother during an overnight traffic stop.
Who Knew Gary Coleman Was A Racist?
Here are a couple of videos featuring former "Different Strokes" star Gary Coleman in which Gary rants and raves about everything including his agent, some movie he's filming and oh yeah, white people. If you've followed what's left of Coleman's fame, then you already know that he has some serious anger management issues probably due to, in part, his height, but mostly due to the fact that he rarely, if ever, seems to blame himself for all the trouble he's gotten into since "Different Strokes" wrapped. And who knew Coleman hated white people so much? Of course, he could just be talking about his wife, who just so happens to be white.
Barack Obama Tells Turkey That The U.S. Is Not A Christian Nation
God, this man is pathetic. This country was built on Christian ideals and here's the Teleprompter-In-Chief (without his teleprompter as you can tell from all the "uhh"'s) contradicting our nation's history while continuing to kowtow to Muslim extremists.
Barack Obama does NOT represent the PEOPLE. He's a fraud who uses Christianity when it benefits himself and turns his back on it the minute he needs to cater to his liberal base.
He must be brought to task for this statement. Check the constitution, the founding fathers' writings, our money, the inscriptions on our federal buildings! Who is he to make the big "change" on behalf of our country?
One-term, people. One term.

'Fast and Furious' Shatters Box Office Records

Wow:
In the first truly shocking box office result of the year, "Fast & Furious" sped away from expectations to gross a humongous $72.5 million, according to early estimates from Media by Numbers. That result is effectively double what most industry observers had predicted for the debut of the fourth feature in Vin Diesel's car franchise, and it left in the dust a number of notable records:
- Best April opening ever, beating "Anger Management's" $42.2 million.
- Best Universal Pictures opening ever (three-day), beating "The Lost World: Jurassic Park's" $72.1 million.
- Best F&F franchise opening ever, beating "2 Fast 2 Furious'" $50.5 million.
- Best opening yet in 2009, easily beating the bows of the more-buzzed-about "Monsters vs. Aliens" ($59.3 million) and "Watchmen" ($55.2 million).
- Best opening ever for stars Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster, as well as for director Justin Lin.
Oh, and let's not forget that it was the best opening ever for a car-themed movie! (Beating "Cars'" $60.1 million.) This outcome is impressive, indeed, something that has caught Hollywood by surprise and has the potential to really change things up -- like when summer-esque blockbusters are released (rarely does one open so early in the year) and like, you know, what everyone thinks of Vin Diesel.
I was a huge fan of the first F&F, but after Diesel didn't show up for the sequel (which wasn't that bad, unlike F&F3 which was just God-awful) I was shocked when I first saw previews showing that Vin was coming back for this installment. Granted, there isn't much to see in the theaters nowadays, but considering that you can't blame anyone for being extra-careful about what they pluck down their $12.50 (that's NYC for ya) for these days, but this is truly shocking.
DKos' Markos Moulitsas Ignores Facts, Blames Conservatives For Cop Killings

They're just pure and simple slime:
Once again the disgusting leader of Left side of the blogosphere shows its true colors as even BEFORE the Pittsburgh police department had a chance to conduct an investigation into 3 of their brave police officers being killed by some psycho, Dkos exploit's the tragedy to make political hay by pinning this senseless crime on the back of conservative pundits. Their proof? News reports quoting a supposed "best friend" who said that suspected killer Richard Poplawski shot the cops because he was afraid of "the Obama gun ban that's on the way."Shortly before Markos Moulitsas blamed Glenn Beck for instigating the senseless shooting of three Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, police officers on Saturday, the proprietor of the far-left website Daily Kos said that conservatives would rather shoot cops than organize to win the next election.
He also wrote during the same Twitter discussion, "With no Veep to shoot people, folks are taking things into their own hands."
Such was revealed Sunday by a self-proclaimed Daily Kos diarist named Tommy Christopher who was so disgusted by these comments he has actually resigned his membership (h/t Hot Air via ConservaThink):
Well, now it turns out the "best friend" was full of shit as apparently an argument over a cat urinating is what triggered the argument between Poplawski and his mom, who then called the cops, with the three cops shot and killed upon arriving at the Poplawski home. Will Moulitsas or any of the other insane liberals who exploited this tragedy to fuel their hate for conservatives apologize? Most likely not. If I were Glenn Beck I'd sue for defamation.
North Korea Ignores Obama, Launches Rocket

YahooNews.com:
North Korea fired a rocket over Japan on Sunday, defying Washington, Tokyo and others who suspect the launch was cover for a test of its long-range missile technology. President Barack Obama warned the move would further isolate the communist nation. It's not like Dick Cheney didn't just warn us about the safety of our country as led by an Obama administration.Liftoff took place at 11:30 a.m. (0230 GMT) from the coastal Musudan-ri launch pad in northeastern North Korea, the South Korean and U.S. governments said. The multistage rocket hurtled toward the Pacific, reaching Japanese airspace within seven minutes, but no debris appeared to hit its territory, officials in Tokyo said.
Four hours after the launch, North Korea declared it a success. An experimental communications satellite reached outer space in just over nine minutes and is orbiting, the state-run Korean Central News Agency said in a dispatch from Pyongyang.
"The satellite is transmitting the melodies 'Song of Gen. Kim Il Sung' and 'Song of Gen. Kim Jong Il' as well as measurement data back to Earth," it said, referring to the country's late founder and his son, its current leader.
Sunday's move was a bold act of defiance against Obama, Japanese leader Taro Aso, Hu Jintao of China and others who pressed Pyongyang in the days leading up to liftoff to cancel a launch they said would threaten peace and stability in Northeast Asia.
