Shocker: Far-Left MSNBC Host Martin Bashir Tears Into Rep. Alan Grayson Over KKK-Tea Party Email

This might come as a surprised to anyone familiar with Martin Bashir‘s usual rhetoric. On Friday afternoon, the MSNBC host tore into Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) for his “inflammatory” fundraising email that compared the Ku Klux Klan to the tea party movement. The congressman continued his defense of the email in spite of outspoken liberal Bashir’s protests. 

Bashir began by noting that he has “some sympathy” for Grayson’s analysis, citing how “over the last five years, we have witnessed plenty of instances of racial hatred toward the president — whether it’s the revoting Rush Limbaugh, the imbecile Sarah Palin, or tea party supporters spewing their hate at various rallies.” However, he asked, “How can you possibly compare racist epithets with racist actions of the KKK, which actually led to racist murders?” 

Grayson responded that “the home of discrimination and bigotry in our country” is the tea party, similar to how, at one point, the KKK was the wellspring of racial hatred years ago. “I’m pleased that we haven’t gone so far as to see those murders,” he said, “but the analogy holds to that degree,” citing the protestor who waved a Confederate flag in front of the White House recently. 

“But how many young black and white civil rights workers has the tea party lynched?” Bashir asked, prompting the congressman to respond: “Sometimes analogies are imperfect.” 

“Do you accept that that may have been an inappropriate analogy?” the MSNBC host pressed. 

“No,” the congressman replied. He suggested that because the NAACP once asked the tea party to remove racists from their midst, and have thus far failed to do so, the analogy holds. 

Bashir attempted to corner Grayson by likening him to some of the more extreme elements of the Republican Party who’ve failed to curtail their own “incendiary” comments. “Don’t you yourself thereby debase your own party by arguing on their level?” the host asked. 

“Do you think that racism is the same as calling out racism?” a baffled Grayson fired back. “Do you think that my effort to end racism in America is somehow analogous to racism itself? That’s ridiculous.” 

Towards the end of the interview, Grayson even suggested that Bashir was in cahoots with the racist elements of the tea party by calling him out in the first place: “The point I’m making is that if you don’t speak out against it, then in effect, you’re collaborating with it,” he said. “And, in fact, if you give someone like me a hard time for speaking out against it, then maybe you’re collaborating with it.”

Sean Hannity Reveals That Obamacare Hotline Operator, Earline Davis, Who Took His Call Got Fired

When a woman named Earline Davis answered the phone on Monday afternoon, she had no idea she’d become a player in Sean Hannity‘s attempt to call the Obamcare hotline and grill an employee with questions about the website’s rollout. She also had no idea that phone call would lead to her firing.  

As a result, the conservative radio host has gifted the mother of two a year’s tax-free salary of $26,000 and has promised to help her find a new job. Hannity brought Davis on his show this afternoon to detail her firing and make the generous offer. 

Davis explained that the morning after the fateful phone call, she was escorted to an HR meeting and told she would be released. The reason? “Contact with the media is not allowed,” Davis said. 

According to the former operator, she was never told during her initial training that she is forbidden from taking calls from the media. “I was just out here trying to help everybody,” she told Hannity. 

“I’m very sorry that you had to go through that,” the radio host told her. “I don’t want you to have to pay a price just for taking our call. So I want to help you out here.”

Liberal Billionaire George Soros Backs Pro-Hillary Clinton Super PAC

Of course, Soros never gets the kind of criticism his counterparts, the Koch Brothers, get from the liberal media:

Liberal billionaire George Soros has accepted a position on the National Finance Council of the Ready For Hillary Super PAC, a group paving the way for a 2016 presidential run for the former first lady. Soros, 83, has long been a monetary influence behind liberal politics, but this is the first time he has accepted a formal role on an American political campaign. Soros has a long history of funding liberals and attacking conservatives, and spent more than $27.5 million trying to defeat President George W. Bush in 2004, including funding such groups as MoveOn.org.

The Washington Post article on this recent announcement referred to Soros as a “billionaire investor, philanthropist and backer of liberal causes,” but this significantly understates Soros’ position and influence. With a political philosophy so far left that it borders on Orwellian, Soros has had an incredible amount of influence in liberal politics through the generous endowments from his Open Society Foundations.

To give a good measure of the Soros move, the liberal Huffington Post led its front page with the headline: “SOROS IS IN!” immediately following the announcement.

Soros political director Michael Vachon said that his boss’s support for the PAC “is an extension of his long-held belief in the power of grassroots organizing.” But there’s nothing “grassroots” about Soros.

Soros has given a total of $550 million to liberal causes between 2000 and 2009. Since launching his Open Society Foundations in 1984, Soros has donated more than $8 billion to nonprofits around the world.

According to OpenSecrets.org, Soros spent $2,775,000 supporting liberals in the 2012 election alone, just through his personal donations. OpenSecrets.org is a project of the Soros-funded Center for Responsive Politics, which has received $550,000 from Soros’ Open Society Foundations since 2000. He was “was an early supporter of Barack Obama, first in his Senate campaign in Illinois and later when he ran for president,” according to his foundations.

Soros’ political views are far left, even for most liberals. He has funded pro-abortion groups, pro-gay marriage organizations, anti-Israel and radical environmental groups. He has extensively promoted his idea of an “open society,” although even he admitted that it won’t end well.

Soros said: “in an open society none of the existing ties are final, and people's relation to nation, family, and their fellows depends entirely on their own decisions. Looking at the reverse side of the coin, this means that the permanence of social relationships has disappeared; the organic structure of society has disintegrated to the point where its atoms, the individuals, float around without hindrance.”

And from there, the description got worse. “Choices arise which would not even have been imagined in an earlier age. Euthanasia, genetic engineering, brainwashing become problems of practical importance. The most complex human functions, such as thinking, may be broken down into their elements and artificially reproduced. Everything appears possible until it has been proven to be impossible.”

On top of joining the PAC, Soros has already pledged $25,000 to Ready For Hillary to date. Hillary Clinton herself has not formally declared that she is running for election in 2016.

CareFirst Says 76,000 Of Its Customers Will Lose Plans Because Of Obamacare

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is being forced to cancel plans that currently cover 76,000 individuals in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., due to changes made by President Obama's health care law, the company told the Washington Examiner today.

That represents more than 40 percent of the 177,000 individuals covered by CareFirst in those states.

Though Obama famously promised that those who liked their health care coverage could keep it under his program, in reality, the health care law imposes a raft of new regulations on insurance policies starting Jan. 1 that are forcing insurers across the country to terminate existing plans.

In theory, rules were supposed to allow pre-existing plans to be "grandfathered in," but they were written so narrowly that they leave out many plans.

"Of the 177,000 individuals under age 65 who are covered by CareFirst, about 76,000 of them are in a non-grandfathered plan — a plan that will not comply with the guidelines imposed by the Affordable Care Act at their time of renewal this year or next," CareFirst said in an email in response to an inquiry by the Examiner.

It continued, "These individuals in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and portions of Northern Virginia will be required by the health law to purchase a new ACA-compliant health plan. This phenomenon is not unique to CareFirst and its members, but rather a result of industrywide changes in accordance with new ACA health plan standards."

While individuals in Maryland and Virginia will have the option of shopping for new plans either on the Obamacare exchanges or the individual market, D.C. residents who get cancellation notices will be forced to purchase insurance on the exchange.

What Isn't Racist? According to the Liberal Media, Nothing

President Obama's election was supposed to usher in an era of racial unity greater than any Americans had previously experienced. By making the historic move to place the first black president in the White House, Americans signified that they were ready to move beyond the racial conflicts of the past and move forward, arm-in-arm. 

At least that's what we were told. 

So much for that. 

In the last two weeks, MSNBC's Chris Matthews, official hot-air-trial balloon for the Obama administration's public relations strategy, has played the race card incessantly. First, he proclaimed that Republican New Jersey senatorial candidate Steve Lonegan was using a racist "dog whistle" when he stated that Cory Booker's Newark was a "black hole" for state tax funds. Then, Matthews said that tea partiers using the word "we the people" to describe the country signified racism, since not everyone agrees with the tea party program. Then, to top it all off, Matthews declared Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who is of Cuban descent, a racist for joking upon his return to Texas, "Gee, it's great to be back in America." That led Matthews into this wild rant: "This 'We're Americans, we white people out here in Texas, as opposed to people who live in the big cities: the ethnics, the blacks, the browns. Those people in Washington, those liberals, they're not Americans.' This guy either has a total lack of understanding of American history and the hell we went through in the McCarthy period or he knows it damn well and is playing that card." 

Matthews has not been strapped into the straitjacket yet, but he's getting close. 

Meanwhile, Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., went further than Matthews, declaring that the tea party was akin to the Ku Klux Klan. He put out a flyer to his constituents with a burning cross in place of the "t" in the word "tea." The flyer stated, "The Tea Party is no more popular than the Klan." When called on to disown this race-baiting trash, Grayson instead doubled down, stating, "there is overwhelming evidence that the Tea Party is the home of bigotry and discrimination in America today, just as the KKK was for an earlier generation. If the shoe fits, wear it." Grayson did not explain why the KKK was a group that voted unanimously Democrat, why progressive hero Woodrow Wilson was a huge fan of the KKK, and why KKK former honcho Robert Byrd was treasured by the Democratic Party until the day he died. 

Charges of racism have echoed from nearly every left-leaning mouth of late. Opposition to Obamacare: racist. Opposition to President Obama on the shutdown: racist. Don't like the president's tie-shirt combination? Racist. 

This is not what Americans were promised. What's worse, it's un-American drivel. Ascribing racial motives to those who have none has become a near pathological condition among those on the left who cannot come to terms that their beloved leader's second term is a policy disaster. Racism is the last bullet in the leftist arsenal. And they're running out of ammo quickly.

Barney's And The NYPD Get Sued For Racial Profiling

Barneys New York and the New York Police Department have been slapped with a lawsuit by Trayon Christian, a college student from Queens, who was arrested at the luxury department store in April. 

"His only crime was being a young black man,” Michael Palillo, Christian's attorney, told The New York Post.

The Post reports that the 19-year-old was at the store buying a $350 Salvatore Ferragamo belt, but following the purchase, he was stopped by undercover officers that were allegedly called on by a Barneys sales clerk who believed the transaction was fraudulent. 

The lawsuit, which was filed Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court, states that the NYC College of Technology freshman was asked by the cops: “how a young black man such as himself could afford to purchase such an expensive belt?” He was then handcuffed taken to a local precinct. 

Despite showing the officers the receipt for the belt, his ID and the debit card used, "Christian was told that his identification was false and that he could not afford to make such an expensive purchase," Palillo said. 

Christian, who saved up money for the pricey accessory from his part-time job at college, said he returned the belt and never plans to shop at the Madison Avenue store again. His story comes just days after another instance of racial discrimination was reported in Baltimore when a black woman was allegedly fired from Hooters for having blonde highlights. 

Barneys has not commented on the matter and Christian's lawsuit against the store and the NYPD is for unspecified damages.

CNN’s Carol Costello: Obama’s People Can Be ‘Nasty,’ Willing to ‘Threaten Your Job’

On Wednesday morning, CNN Newsroom anchor Carol Costello made a rather stunning, if cryptic, revelation. In discussing the firing of national security official Jofi Joseph, Costello agreed with panelist Jason Johnson that the Obama administration can be thin-skinned, and said that “President Obama’s people can be quite nasty. They don’t like you to say anything bad about their boss, and they’re not afraid to use whatever means they have at hand to stop you from doing that, including threatening your job.”

Johnson’s reaction to the firing was that “we had to see more of the tweets. It’s kind of inappropriate, so I can understand him being fired. But the Obama administration is very thin-skinned.”

Costello read some more of the tweets, then said to Johnson “(Y) ou really do have a point. I felt it first hand when I was reporting on the presidential race. I mean, President Obama’s people can be quite nasty. They don’t like you to say anything bad about their boss, and they’re not afraid to use whatever means they have at hand to stop you from doing that, including threatening your job.”

Liberal Scumbag Alan Grayson Compares Tea Party To KKK

Florida Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson’s campaign sent out a fundraising email likening the tea party to the Ku Klux Klan, complete with an image of a burning cross.

The email, which went out to supporters yesterday, shows a burning cross — complete with images of two KKK-like figures in the background — used as the “T” in “tea party.” When users click on the image, they’re taken to a fundraising landing page for Grayson’s campaign.

The text of the email is an excerpt from an interview Grayson did with the Rev. Al Sharpton, in which he draws the tea party-KKK comparison.

“At this point, the tea party is no more popular than the Klan,” Grayson says in the interview.

The email praises Grayson’s bluntness and urges supporters to donate to his campaign.

“Congressman Alan Grayson deserves your support, like no one else,” the email says. “He, and only he, is saying the things that you are thinking, and so much need to be said.”

Matt Gorman, rapid response director for the National Republican Congressional Committee, denounced Grayson’s fundraising tactics.

“There’s no excuse for the hateful words and imagery used by Congressman Grayson,” he said in a statement. “House Democrats should swiftly and strongly condemn him and return the money he has raised for them. This hate-filled rhetoric has Americans fed up with Washington.”

Food Stamps Being Sold For Cash On Craigslist

Food stamp recipients are turning the government handouts into quick cash with ads on Craigslist, despite efforts to stem fraud.

The federally-funded grocery assistance coupons -- which are issued by states in the form of debit cards under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) -- are being sold on the online bulletin board as well as auction sites like eBay. FoxNews.com found several offerings at Craigslist sites around the country, where the sellers offered the welfare benefits at large discounts from face value.

“If you need food. This is not a gimmick or game,” read one posting from Philadelphia. “Please let me know, I have food stamps for sale..... Serious Replies only!!!”

“I have $500 worth and it costs $350 cash. No I will not do half!” read another posting from the Atlanta area. “I don't need to sell. If you would like to get an extra $150 to $175 in grocery and pay no taxes and can see the benefit that you will still be saving then email me or call me and we can arrange the whole deal as soon as you like.”

Those who are desperately hungry are also taking to the website, offering cash for the stamps.

“DO YOU NEED SOME QUICK CASH?? -- $100 (atlanta),” read the title of one such post, under which the buyer offered: "If you get Food Stamps and need some extra cash then hit me asap,” reads the post.
In another posting from the Trenton, N.J., area, the seller claims that he will have a $100 EBT card available on Nov. 1 for $60.

Contacted by FoxNews.com and asked about the legality of such a transaction, the seller cryptically responded: "Lol are u serious is the govt legal of course but I hve a customer Good day [sic]."

The coupons are not supposed to be transferred, and Craigslist's policy lists them among the items that are not allowed to be sold or bartered on the site. But unless someone flags such a post, there's little the sites, which operate in small, medium and large markets around the country, can do. Critics suspect sellers either don't need them any more because they have found work, or simply want to exchange them for cash so that they can buy drugs or other items that are not permitted under the rules of the program.

Salon's Joan Walsh Criticizes Ezra Klein for Telling Truth About ObamaCare, Klein Strikes Back

The ObamaCare rollout is going so poorly that liberal media members are starting to eat each other.

On Monday, Salon's Joan Walsh actually published a piece criticizing her fellow liberals for telling the truth about the train wreck:

As predictably as night follows day, on Monday the media establishment pivoted away from obsessing about GOP extremism and the party’s alleged “civil war” to the “train wreck” that is, allegedly, the Affordable Care Act. 

And liberals helped lead the pivot.

Don’t get me wrong: The problems with Healthcare.gov are real, and disturbing, and must be fixed asap. (Think Progress has a dispassionate assessment here.) But excuse me if I believe the president knows that without my telling him. It’s like watching the 21st century version of the rise of the Democratic Leadership Council, and I feel the way I did back then: On the one hand, yes, it’s important for Democrats to acknowledge when government screws up, and to fix it.

On the other hand, when liberals rush conscientiously to do that, they only encourage the completely unbalanced and unhinged coverage of whatever the problem may be.

In her piece deliciously titled "Liberal Pundit Fail: Rush to Attack Obamacare Site Only Aids Unhinged Right," Walsh specifically mentioned the Washington Post's Ezra Klein:

The Washington Post’s great Ezra Klein then picked up the cudgel, telling the crew at MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” where every Obama misstep foretells the end of his presidency, that the Health and Human Services Department is covering up a massive “management failure,” because they had enough pre-launch information to know there were going to be massive problems and neither adjusted their rollout plan or prepared the public.

That’s fair, but then Klein took to Twitter and began sharing his experience trying to sign up for healthcare over the phone, and complained about “the lack of hold music.” Twitter replied with a trending hashtag #ezrakleinsholdmusic.

Have you seen a better example of what's wrong with the media today, and how clear it is that there is no such thing as journalism anymore?

In Walsh's disturbed view, people on the left should withhold from readers and viewers problems with the most far-reaching and impactful piece of legislation enacted in this country since Medicare almost 50 years ago.

That's what Walsh thinks is journalism, and why she's a featured contributor to MSNBC.

For some reason, Klein wasn't taking Walsh's view and tweeted his response Tuesday:

But Klein went further to illustrate how uncowed he was by Walsh's criticism publishing a very interesting interview hours ago with Clay Johnson, founder and CEO of the Department of Better Technology and the author of an e-book on modernizing the federal government's procurement process:

Ezra Klein: Your view is that HealthCare.Gov is symptomatic of larger problems in the way government manages IT and procurement. What do you mean by that?

Clay Johnson: Computer World yesterday came out with a report that took the last 10 years worth of IT procurements that are greater than $10 million and showed that 96 percent of them fail. They come in over budget, or vastly too late, or they don't work at all. To me, if you're going to spend a whole bunch of money on a process with a 96 percent failure rate, it pretty much guarantees it won't work out that well. This just isn't something we're very good at. And HealthCare.gov is a symptom of that overall problem.

EK: So why do you think the failure rate for these major IT projects in government is so high?

CJ: Generally in technology, smaller products that iterate into becoming larger after they get in front of customers and get used tend to work better than trying to build something with upfront requirements that may or may not work out.

The second reason is that because of the amount of money involved, government becomes really afraid of failure, which is a bit ironic, as this ends up leading to failure. But that fear of failure leads them to only want to work with known quantities, and known quantities mean contractors who've done this work in the past. That puts them with a group of entrenched vendors who haven't really had to compete in the world of technology.

The other part is that there aren't enough people inside government with the technical knowledge to oversee this stuff. In 1996, Newt Gingrich and the Republican revolution took out this Office of Technology Assessment that was kind of the digital brains of Congress. It was like an internal think tank on technology issues that advised Congress. That got axed. So there isn't a real technical brain inside of Congress because there's no one really advising them, the way lawyers advise them on the law, on technology. And you have some of the same problem in the executive branch. You have people like [CTO] Todd Park but it's not in every agency.

Parent Files Bullying Complaint Over 91-0 Football Drubbing

"Bullying", one of white liberals favorite causes, gets taken to new (and dangerous) depths. I mean, one could certainly make the case for running up the score here, but bullying, really? :

Er, really? The parent of the high-school football player on the losing end of a 91-0 loss has found a way to improve the team amplify the whining — by accusing the winning team of bullying them. Isn’t that what a ground-acquisition game like football is supposed to be about? 

“My son plays for western hills football team on friday night we all witnessed bullying firsthand, it is not a pretty sight. Picking up my son from the field house after the game and taking him home was tough, I did not know what to say on the ride home to explain the behavior of the aledo coach for not easing up when the game was in hand. After thinking about my ride home, I thought how tough it must have been for the parents of the aledo football players to explain what happened o their sons on the ride home. During the game the aledo players showed respect to my son and I thank them for their good sportsmanship. I wish the aledo players good luck this season and hope they have a successful school year.I wish their parents don’t have to explain this ride home again.”

Besides, all the complaint will amplify is the losing team’s sense of humiliation. The opposing coach told the local CBS affiliate that he did his best to keep the scoring down in the second half, which strongly suggests that the losers couldn’t even stack up to the benchwarmers:

Buchanan said by halftime, when his team was up 56 points, he began actively trying to keep the score down, subbing in backup players, letting the clock run continuously, and instructing players to make fair catch calls.
“You don’t want to embarrass… I’ve been on the other side of those scores. In 2011, Lake Travis scored 62 points on us. That doesn’t feel good. It doesn’t make the kids feel good,” said Buchanan.

Don’t ask questions to which you don’t want to hear the answers ….
