Texas Democrat Congressional Candidate Kesha Rogers Calls For Obama's Impeachment

In a profile published online yesterday, Time calls Kesha Rogers, the winner of the Democratic Senatorial primary in Texas, the Longhorn State’s own Alvin Greene. Unfortunately this does not mean that there’s another potential politician running around making interviews that resemble performance art. What Time instead means by the comparison is that there’s another Democratic candidate out there who is being isolated by the Democratic Party. While Greene is being shunned for being too secretive, Rogers has made her intentions abundantly clear. Those intentions just happen to include impeaching one Barack Obama.

The comparison ends there. Rogers very much did not come out of no where (she’s been running for office in the state in 2006) and she readily explains her personal politics and background:

“Rogers, 33, told TIME she is a “full time political activist” in the Lyndon LaRouche Youth Movement, a recruiting arm of the LaRouche political organization that is active on many college campuses. The LYM espouses LaRouche opposition to free trade and “globalism” (the UN, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund) and it also calls for a return to a humanist classical education, emphasizing the works of Plato and Leibnitz. On her professional looking campaign website, kesharogers.com, she touts the LaRouche political philosophy — a mix of support for the economic policies of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the impeachment of President Obama — and calls Obama a “London and Wall Street backed puppet” whose policies will destroy the Democratic Party. During the campaign, she was photographed carrying an oversized portrait of the President with a Hitler-style moustache penciled on his lip.”

Still though, she’s getting a very similar treatment as Greene, treatment that can only be described as “hostile”:

“Meanwhile, the state party has adopted a resolution denying any party support for Rogers, citing the alleged racist and discriminatory views of the LaRouche movement — allegations that Rogers, who is African-American, firmly rejects. District 22 has also been stricken from the party’s official online list of congressional races.”

The Left better be careful how they treat this woman because not only is Ms. Rogers a black woman, but she's an outspoken, articulate and serious candidate for office. Rogers wants to end government bail-outs and she's not afraid to call Barry's incompetency, how he's a puppet of London's financial interests who must be removed immediately. She also thinks Afghanistan is reason enough to impeach Obama and don't let her get started on his handling of the BP oil spill. I hope she's ready for all the heat she's going to get from all the Obama stans in the press for daring to be a Black Democrat publicly dissing the Obama regime, but from the looks so far she can handle it.

Georgia Liberals Going After Conservative Democrat John Barrow For Opposing ObamaCare

When the No. 3 House Democrat visits Georgia next week to extol the government's health care overhaul, Rep. John Barrow - a conservative Democrat who opposed the bill - won't be there to welcome the guest to his district.

However, Barrow's opponent in the July 20 primary, who says the incumbent has betrayed the party by voting too often against its agenda, says she'll be attending the Augusta event Tuesday with campaign materials in-hand.

Barrow is already facing anger from liberal Georgia Democrats for voting against President Barack Obama's health care plan in March. The Savannah lawmaker is seeking re-election to a fourth term in southern Georgia's 12th District.

The visit by House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., to speak about the benefits of the health care law in Barrow's district has put the congressman in a tough spot heading into a contested primary.

"It's very awkward," Tony Center, Democratic Party chairman for Savannah and surrounding Chatham County, said Friday. "You've got a member of the leadership coming to the district and an incumbent congressman who doesn't want to be seen with him."

Still, Center and other party officials in the southern Georgia district say core Democrats, particularly blacks who make up nearly 40 percent of the district's voters, have grown increasingly unhappy with Barrow's conservative tilt.

This summer, Barrow faces a primary rematch with former state senator Regina Thomas of Savannah, who says she's the real Democrat in the race. That message didn't work for Thomas when she opposed Barrow in the 2008 primary. She received only 24 percent of the vote.

Some Democratic critics say Barrow went too far this year with his vote against the health care overhaul - which they saw as a betrayal of a key Democratic policy and of Obama, who endorsed Barrow in the 2008 primary.

Montgomery County Democratic chairman John Brewer, in an unusual breach of primary-season neutrality, said earlier this month he's so furious with Barrow that he'll vote against him in July. If Barrow wins re-election, Brewer said, he'll actively work to recruit another Democratic opponent for the congressman in 2012.

Dare to be a Democrat who thinks different and this is the kind of backlash you receive.

Mitch Landrieu, Conservative Democrat, Elected Mayor Of New Orleans

Frustrated by term-limited Mayor Ray Nagin's leadership of New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina, voters elected Louisiana Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu to succeed him Saturday, turning to a political scion to speed up the city's recovery.

Landrieu, 49, became the majority-black city's first white mayor since 1979, the year his father Moon left the office. The mayor-elect, a moderate Democrat, won in a landslide over a field of 10 opponents in a campaign that also focused on the city's violent crime and slumping finances.

Flanked by family members including his father and his sister, U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., Landrieu said the victory showed voters had decided to "strike a blow for unity."

Voting came amid Carnival celebrations and preparations for the New Orleans Saints' appearance in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Landrieu's victory party was a nod to both: the ballroom of a the Roosevelt hotel – recently reopened after a post-Katrina restoration – was festooned with Saints-themed black and gold balloons. A roving brass band played Mardi Gras tunes and he prefaced his victory speech by leading the crowd in the Saints' "Who Dat" cheer.

With 85 percent of precincts reporting, Landrieu had 67 percent of the vote.

Landrieu, who lost to Nagin in a runoff four years ago, was a welcome change for some voters who grew frustrated with the city's current mayor. Little known outside New Orleans before Katrina, Nagin became a central, and sometimes controversial figure, in the city's struggle to recover. Though he won re-election as he courted black voters in the 2006 campaign. Nagin notoriously pledged after the hurricane that New Orleans would be a "chocolate city" again, offending many whites.

Good for the city of New Orleans. Ray Nagin was a horrible mayor. His total incompetence (when he wasn't pointing fingers at everyone but himself) in dealing with Hurricane Katrina should've gotten him fired a long time ago. People around the country have grown tired of the status quo of corrupt, Democrat leadership. And the Left no longer has George W. Bush to blame for everything wrong on the planet as folks realize that its actually Democrats that have been in charge for Congress for the past 3 years. It's now the Obama Era and Ray Nagin has become another casualty.

John McCain Slams Blue Dog Democrats

The “Blue Dogs,” a group of moderate to conservative House Democrats who have worked to limit the price tag of health care reform legislation, are taking a hit from a prominent Republican who is suggesting that the group will ultimately prove ineffectual.

“The Blue Dogs, they always bark and they never bite,” Arizona Sen. John McCain said on an interview that aired Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union. “They almost always – in fact, always, roll over and then play dead.”

McCain’s slam of the Blue Dogs came in the context of being asked whether President Obama has the political power to stymie Republicans in their efforts to shape Democrats’ ambitious plans to overhaul the nation’s health care system.

“There's no doubt that this is a very effective president of the United States,” McCain said of his former rival. “He's an excellent communicator. He has sizeable majorities in both houses of Congress.

“So I would never count anybody out in health care or anything else when you have these sizeable majorities. I think they will renew the push after the August recess. The question is, are they going to be really bipartisan efforts or just pick off a couple of Republicans?”

In the House, the Blue Dog coalition has worked within the Energy and Commerce Committee to bring down the near trillion-dollar price tag for health care reform over the next 10 years while also protecting the interests of rural hospitals in some of their districts. Efforts to appease the Blue Dogs resulted in delays in getting legislation out of that committee. A vote on a bill came late Friday, just before the House broke for a five-week recess.

McCain's right. Conservative Democrats count on Blue Dogs to think more pragmatically about spending, because Blue Dogs are the ones who view their constituents more realistically than the emotionally responsive liberal base. And now they're caving on a health care reform package that could really hurt Americans in the long run.
