"If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving, Paris is out of town not bothering anybody, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don't seem to have much of an issue."
- in response to his city's problems with paparazzi and a city councilman's proposed ordinance against it. Bratton, a longtime gay rights supporter, still caught flak from some libs over the remark.
I'm feeling this. The McCain camp isn't whining about the press, they're skewering them for their fawning coverage of yet another personality whose mostly talk, but little substance.
Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old star of the popular Nickelodeon series “Zoey 101” and the sister of the troubled singer Britney Spears, 26, said she was 12 weeks pregnant by her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge, The Associated Press reported. “It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected,” Jamie Lynn told OK! magazine. “I was in complete shock, and so was he.”
Her mother, Lynne Spears, said: “I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious. She’s never late for curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.” Jamie Lynn said she planned to rear the baby in her home state, Louisiana, “so it can have a normal family life.”
In a statement, Nickelodeon said: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation.” The third season of “Zoey 101” ends on Jan. 4. Filming of the fourth season, beginning in February, has been completed.
While Jamie Lynn should be commended for choosing to have the kid, there's a lot of irony here that speaks directly to how liberals treat teen sex, while running away from the consequences that come with it. First, in reporting this story the media has made it clear that they care less about the father's role in all of this, not to mention that because he's 18, he could be arrested for statutory rape. Then of course, there's the clueless parents who for years stood by and watched eldest daughter Britney toss aside all sense of values to exploit sex (to the delight of perverts everywhere) for financial gain . . . one can only wonder how Britney's still very public and troubled life has effected Jamie-Lynn (and only an idiot would equate their kid making "curfew" to not having sex). Plus, let's not forget Hollywood role in the sex-saturated culture that teenagers are engrossed with now as well as the liberal media's role in consistently bashing abstinence-education. It all ads up to why teenagers like Jamie Lynn Spears growing up faster then they should have to. But hey if you're a liberal what do you care? After all it's not your 16-year-old kid that's about to deliver a child into this world and become the poster-child for teenage sex everywhere.
Those wacky celebrity skanks. Finally, someone in the mainstream press is taking them to task.
Is the bad behavior of today's pop twits legitimate enough reason to keep your daughter away from I Know Who Killed Me? Or is Newsweek's latest cover, "The Girls Gone Wild Effect," another example of media-manufactured alarmism? According to the mag's new poll, 77 percent of respondents said Britney, Paris, and Lindsay have too much influence on young girls. (Perhaps that's what happens when you put them on the cover of a national news magazine.) Here's a quick look at the other data: • "Sex surveys are notoriously unreliable, but the best available data show that the average age of first sexual intercourse for girls is 17 ... and hasn't changed by more than a few months in 20 years."
• "Smoking and overall drug use among teenage girls have declined in recent years." • "The overall teenage pregnancy rate in 2002, the most recent available, was down 35 percent from 1990."
• "In the 2004-2005 school year, women earned 57 percent of all bachelor's degrees awarded and 59 percent of master's degrees."
Of course, this could just be a bunch of ivory tower numbers manipulation. What do today's real girls think?
• "My friends and I look at them to laugh at them," explains Emma Boyce, a 17-year-old from New Orleans. "Our lives seem pretty good by comparison. We're not going to rehab like Lindsay."
One of the best books I've read on America's celebration of decadence is Ben Shapiro's excellent tome "The Porn Generation". 21yo (at the time he wrote the book) Shapiro spouts the same topics Newsweek brings up: the utter rejection of morality by these very same celebrities and how much of a damaging effect it's having on our society, especially today's youth. If you haven't already read it I highly recommend that you pick it up.
I find it funny that the media is acting so shocked about Britney Spears flashing her private parts and hanging out with The Queen Of All Skanks Paris Hilton so soon after her marriage went kaput. After all this is the same Britney Spears who literally had pedophiles across the nation salivating after appearing in a Catholic schoolgirl uniform at 16 for her "Baby One More Time" video, has posed nude or semi-bude for a variety of magazines as well as on TV, kissed Elder Skank Madonna onstage at the 2003 MTV Video Awards, lied for years about her virginity, married a friend for a couple of days just to see what it was like to get married and started a relationship with a guy, Kevin Federline, who had just gotten his girlfriend pregnant.
Seems to me that Britney, despite now being the mother of two kids, is just continuing to be the skank she's always been.
