Biblical Scholar Dr. Michael Brown Schools CNN's Piers Morgan on Jesus and Homosexuality

In the ongoing "Duck Dynasty" debate, the bigoted media at first planned to toxify Christianity as de facto bigotry. "Since the Bible is very clear about homosexual behavior," the thinking went. "We'll just get over that hump by declaring the Bible bigoted." Well, that only revealed the media as bigoted and backfired. So now the plan is to rewrite Jesus and the Bible. This simple-minded, anti-science meme apparently started at the Huffington Post. 

CNN's Piers Morgan tried to further this nonsense the other night, and you can watch him get his clock cleaned by a Biblical scholar below:

Jesus never said anything as literal as "homosexuality is a sin." But in Matthew 19, Jesus made it extremely clear that marriage is between one man and one woman and that any sexual activity outside of that union is a sin:

Finally, it must be considered that Jesus did, in fact, speak against homosexuality. On numerous occasions, Jesus condemned the sins of adultery (Matthew 19:18), sexual immorality (Matthew 19:9) and fornication (Matthew 15:19). These terms describe any type of sexual intercourse that is not within the confines of a marriage ordained by God. Jesus then proceeded to define exactly what God views as a morally permissible marriage. He stated:

Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh”? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate (Matthew 19:4-6).

Gay or straight, the Bible does not discriminate. The sexual bar for Christians is very, very high.

The only people who might feel discriminated against are those of any sexual preference who base a large part of their personal identity on their sexuality. For my money, though, their biggest sin is being tedious, narcissistic bores.

Never let it be said that social liberals don't embrace adultery, esp. since traditional marriage and monogamy mean nothing to them anyway:

Ironically, liberal Huffington Post’s love affair with AshleyMadison.com is more committed than casual, since HuffPo regularly writes about and highlights the adultery website. A search for “AshleyMadison.com” on Huffington Post’s website yielded over 9,000 results. Of course, HuffPo added a "Divorce" section to its site before adding one for “Marriage.” (Never let it be said that HuffPo, house organ for the Hollywood left, doesn’t know its readers!) Given those priorities, it’s infatuation with the cheat site is understandable. 

Most recently, HuffPo shamelessly plugged Ashley Madison’s newest outrage: An offer of $1 million to anyone who can prove they took Christian quarterback Tim Tebow’s virginity. 

Other AshleyMadison.com stories promoted by Huffington Post include a full-length video of the infidelity website’s rejected SuperBowl ad, featuring porn star Savanna Simmons. HuffPo also hawked AshleyMadison’s slander of GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, when the pro-adultery site erected a billboard endorsing Gingrich for president. 

But don’t worry! AshleyMadison.com says it doesn’t encourage married partners to stray or even make it easier to have an affair. No, the purpose of the website is “so you can communicate with other like-minded adults who may be more sympathetic to your circumstances.” 

And when you’ve ruined your marriage by participating in an extra-marital affair (that AshleyMadison.com absolutely didn’t encourage you to have!) you can trot on over to Huffington Post’s “Divorce” section. With articles like “"Does Mother's Day Give Wives a Reason to Cheat?" and “'Why Do We Try So Hard To Save Floundering Marriages" the straying spouse can console him- or herself with the knowledge that everyone is doing it (at least everyone in Beverly Hills.)

HuffPo’s Howard Fineman On Obama’s Biggest Mistake: Health Care Reform

On his show today, Chris Matthews asked his panelists to name President Obama’s biggest mistake in office. Howard Fineman, Editorial Director at the Huffington Post, suggested it was none other than the controversial health care reform bill pushed through the Congress last year.


The other panelists had less surprising offers: focusing on Afghanistan as a war of necessity and not closing down the prison at Guantanamo Bay were two of the ideas thrown out there. But Fineman and fellow panelist David Ignatius agreed that the president’s focus on health care reform was the biggest mistake of his presidency.


Fineman’s take:


His decision to spend all of his political capital and a year-and-a-half of his time on the health care reform law, I think, was his biggest political mistake.


Ignatius echoed Fineman’s sentiments, also pointing out that President Obama did not have that much political capital on health care reform to begin with.


The idea of watching a major change in social legislation without having a consensus in the country and in Congress about what that should look like was a mistake. That’s not how the president makes good policy.

NOW they say it was a mistake. Funny that.

Arianna Huffington Sued by Freelancer Who Bemoans 'Slaves' on HuffPo 'Plantation'

A freelance blogger on Tuesday filed a class action lawsuit against Arianna Huffington for $105 million. The suit alleges that the Huffington Post's legion of unpaid bloggers are entitled to one third of the revenue from the site's sale to AOL in February.


Jonathan Tasini, who filed the lawsuit, compared Huffington to a "robber baron" in a blog post on Tuesday, and called her site a "blogger plantation - where her slaves work to build her fortune."


Tasini's hard-left perspective came through in his complaint (students of Marx will no doubt recognize his labor theory of value):


We live in a time of unrelenting class warfare. We are the richest nation on earth—yet that wealth is flowing into the hands of the few. The greatest stage for that class warfare is in the workplace: CEOs and their top executives believe that they are the most important part of the company and that they should reap an obscene portion of the value created by WORKERS.


The Huffington Post was, is and will never be, anything without the thousands of people who create the content. Ms. Huffington is acting like every Robber Baron CEO—from Lloyd Blankfein to the Waltons—who believes that they, and only they, should pocket huge riches, while the rest of the peons struggle to survive. Ms. Huffington stance has been clear: only she deserves the fruits of the labor of the people who work for her.


Actually, Arianna Huffington is worse than the CEOs of the banks, the Walton family of Wal-mart. At least, they pay their workers something—even if those wages aren’t enough to make ends meet.


Huffington pays zero. Nothing. Nada.


Arianna Huffington is a hypocrite. While reaping money and building her "brand" based on books and speeches decrying the growing divide between rich and poor (I am not linking to those books in order to avoid giving her even more cash to pocket), Ms. Huffington is precisely acting to impoverish bloggers and create a blogger-plantation--where her slaves work to build her fortune.


The plantation line is absurd on its face. The Washington Examiner's Timothy Carney summed up everything wrong with the claim in a short headline: "Like slavery, only voluntary".

Well it's not like her integrity shouldn't already be questioned considering how she's a former conservative once married to a Republican congressman and all, but hey:

When two Democratic political consultants accused Arianna Huffington, in a lawsuit, of cheating them out of credit for their role in launching the Huffington Post, her ultra-dismissive response was meant to imply their claims were based on nothing more than envy. An investigation in the new issue of Vanity Fair suggests that the consultants’ case is not quite as frivolous as Huffington would have you believe — but it also raises new questions about the plaintiffs’ motivation.


The two men, Peter Daou and James Boyce, present some compelling evidence that Huffington’s well-polished account of how Huffpo was conceived — supposedly at a Dec. 3, 2004 gathering of liberal luminaries she’d convened — is, at best, only part of the truth. In fact, in the weeks before that conclave, Daou and Boyce had already pitched Huffington on their idea for a progressive version of the Drudge Report, and she’d responded by looping in Ken Lerer, her eventual Huffpo co-founder. In the days following the Dec. 3 meeting, Daou, Boyce, Huffington and Lerer fleshed out the idea in in-person meetings and email conversations. By Dec. 20, the site had a name (rejected possibilities included “Arianna Says” and “Arianna’s On Fire”), and Daou and Boyce had been instructed to draw up a “refined blueprint and strategic plan” with a promise of six months’ worth of funding. Only after that did Huffington and Lerer cut ties. Six months later, the Huffington Post went live.


In other words, Huffington and Lerer, at a minimum, seriously considered working with Daou and Boyce on something that, in rough outline, resembles the Huffington Post. That much is clear. What’s far from clear is why the two consultants waited six years to claim what they now say is their due. Asked about the Vanity Fair story, a Huffpo spokesman, Mario Ruiz, pointed to the six-year delay as proof of the lawsuit’s weakness:


As we’ve said before, it defies reason and human nature, if they really believed they had created the Huffington Post, that they would wait six years before speaking up. At some point over the last 72 months, they would have contacted us to complain or asked us to credit them somewhere on the site or insisted on getting stock. Something. Anything! But they didn’t, because they know that they have absolutely no claim to ownership.


(Ruiz also said the article “takes apart Boyce and Daou’s case piece by piece, leaving it in tatters.” Read it yourself and draw your own conclusions, I say.)


Daou and Boyce say they had business relationships that prevented them from going public with their beef when they would have liked to. You have to wonder what happened to those business relationships; after all, Huffington is far more of a force in Democratic politics now than she was in 2005.

Sarah Palin Sends 'Message to All 57 States' Bashing Media Focus on North Korea Gaffe

She's getting too good at this, yet they still haven't learned so she keeps making them look stupid:

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin on Thursday struck back at media members that bothered reporting the slip of the tongue she made the previous day concerning North Korea being America's ally.


In a Facebook posting entitled "A Thanksgiving Message to All 57 States," Palin mocked news outlets for not giving similar coverage to gaffes made by Barack Obama:


My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…


As can be seen, Palin included links to YouTube videos of Obama saying some really absurd things:


If you can’t remember hearing about them, that’s because for the most part the media didn’t consider them newsworthy.


Palin also noted that she didn't mention any of Joe Biden's famous gaffes - "I didn’t have enough time."


She continued:


If the media had bothered to actually listen to all of my remarks on Glenn Beck’s radio show, they would have noticed that I refer to South Korea as our ally throughout, that I corrected myself seconds after my slip-of-the-tongue, and that I made it abundantly clear that pressure should be put on China to restrict energy exports to the North Korean regime. The media could even have done due diligence and checked my previous statements on the subject, which have always been consistent, and in fact even ahead of the curve. But why let the facts get in the way of a good story?

Apparently this has long been a huge complaint about Barry's favorite website....they don't pay their writers:

After a very public and somewhat controversial exit from the HuffPo, Mayhill Fowler has published an article titled “Why I Left The Huffington Post” on her personal blog. The citizen journalist’s post primarily revolves around one complaint: “I want to be paid for my time and effort.”


The self-proclaimed clueless journalist started contributing to HuffPo in 2007 without pay, as is the norm at a vast number of new-media sites. However, as is also the case at many digital publications, she continued to work without considerable compensation, a fact that has prompted Fowler to brand her resignation as “Bittergate.” 

In her post, she: claims that her work for the online publication was “often as good as anything HuffPost’s paid reporters” produce, publishes a presumably private e-mail exchange with HuffPo editor Roy Sekoff (on which Arianna Huffington was CC’d), and offers some sordid commentary on Howard Fineman, who is leaving Newsweek for HuffPo, where he will undoubtedly be paid more than most of what the site’s “6,000 opionators.” Said Fowler:

The Huffington Post just took on Howard Fineman, a fine political pundit and maybe one of the last to leave the sinking ship Newsweek. I predict he will stay about a year. Maybe two. He doesn’t want Newsweek to be the last thing on his resume. He needs some “street cred” in new media. Then he will go on to a university lectureship (Princeton, perhaps) or a think tank or a foundation in order to round out a prestigious career. Likely both Fineman and Huffington are under no illusions about the hire. But here’s the thing from my point of view. So Fineman is getting a six-figure salary. Deserved. But why is there not a quarter of that for me?

"If you’re a fan of Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh, try reading a few columns on the Huffington Post website."

So said President Barack Obama in his commencement address to the University of Michigan 2010 graduates Saturday. 

"If we choose only to expose ourselves to opinions and viewpoints that are in line with our own, studies suggest that we will become more polarized, more set in our ways," ironically said the President. 

"But if we choose to actively seek out information that challenges our assumptions and our beliefs, perhaps we can begin to understand where the people who disagree with us are coming from."

Conservatives are already aware of the very cozy relationship the Teleprompter-in-Chief has long had with the angry, radically-Left, blame-Bush-for-everything-wrong-with-the-planet Huffington Post, but this takes the cake. Dare anyone call him an "ideologue" after this.

This is the Left at their worse. We all know that there will never be any end to bitter hatred for former President Bush, but for Arianna Huffington's smear blog to take a cheap shot at the former First Lady just shows that how truly unhinged they really are (to think, a quick scan of the comments section finds that many of HuffPo's own readers felt this piece was "uncalled" for). Of course, Arianna Huffington, who still goes around the news cable circuit whining about how supposed 'inciteful rhetoric' coming out of the mouths of conservative pundits, has been called out time and time again on how much of a hypocrite she is. But why should a former conservative woman who married a gay guy to become rich care about any of that when she can continue to exploit the Left's hate to fill her own filthy pockets.
