Former Planned Parenthood Worker Marianne Anderson: “Money-Grubbing, Evil, Very Sad, Sad Place to Work”

Archindy.org:
Marianne Anderson recently drove with her mother past the Planned Parenthood facility at 86th Street and Georgetown Road in Indianapolis, the state’s largest provider of abortions.

“I told my mom, ‘To think that that building exists for no other reason than to kill unborn babies.’ I still get a knot in my stomach when I drive by there.”

The knot returns despite the fact that Anderson hasn’t worked at the Planned Parenthood facility since July of 2012. Prior to that, she worked for two-and-a-half years as a nurse at the abortion center.

The mother of two and grandmother of one has begun to talk about her experiences at the abortion facility.
Anderson, who now works as a nurse at Community North Hospital, shared her story at two recent events sponsored by the Great Lakes Gabriel Project, which offers help and support to women in crisis pregnancies. Many Catholics across central and southern Indiana are involved in this pro-life initiative.

The following are excerpts from a recent interview she had with The Criterion, during which Anderson revealed her experiences at the Planned Parenthood facility and the support she received from members of the Great Lakes Gabriel Project in her efforts to leave.

Q. When and why did you start working for Planned Parenthood?
A. “I started working for Planned Parenthood in 2010 to start up their conscious sedation program [which allowed clients to purchase mild to moderate sedatives to be given intravenously before an abortion]. Plus the job was very close to my house.”

Q. Did you know what they were about, what they did?
A. “I did. And I must admit I was kind of on the fence about abortion. I think a lot of it came from working at Wishard [Hospital], and seeing girls that had attempted abortion themselves and ended up with hysterectomies, or boyfriends beating them because they were pregnant. My thought was, ‘Well, you need a safe place [for an abortion]. People shouldn’t be doing it on their own. And people are going to be doing it anyway, so why not provide them a safe place to do it?’ ”

Q. When did you start having qualms or misgivings about working for Planned Parenthood?
A. “I started feeling uneasy working there when people came from [the] national [office] in New York City to teach us the conscious sedation process. It was disgusting. These two ladies had this chant they would do: ‘Abortion all the time!’ I thought, ‘I’ve got to get out of here.’ That was about six to eight months after I started.

“Those women from New York acted like an abortion was a rite of passage. They were like, ‘How can you not offer abortion to women? It’s their body. They should be able to do whatever they want. How can you force them to have a baby? Abortion should be free to anybody, anytime.’ ”

Q. How many abortions are done at the Georgetown facility per day?
A. “In the upper 20s to low 30s, including medical abortion by pill. Abortions are done there every Tuesday and Friday, and then they alternate between Thursday and Saturday.”

Q. Were there ever any difficulties with the abortion procedures?
A. “Several times, there were difficulties with abortions while I worked there, where they had to call the hospital to come pick the woman up.

“One girl almost bled out. She was passing clots, her blood pressure was dropping.

“A lot of the cases we had were from excessive bleeding or reactions to the sedation.

“When we had to call 911 for an ambulance, we were told never to say the word ‘abortion’ because they don’t want that broadcast. They knew that the calls were recorded, and could be made public.”

Q. What was it like working there?
A. “It was a money-grubbing, evil, very sad, sad place to work.

“We would get yelled at if we didn’t answer the phone by the third ring. They would tell us we’d be fired [if we didn’t] because they needed the money.

“They would remind us in our weekly staff meeting that we need to tell everyone [who called to schedule an appointment] to avoid ‘those people’ [the sidewalk counselors] because we need the money. We were to tell them, ‘Don’t make eye contact with them, and don’t stop in the driveway. If you make eye contact with them or if you stop and roll down your window, they’re going to try their darnedest to talk you out of it.’

“You have to have so many [abortions] a month to stay open. In our meetings they’d tell us, ‘If abortions are down, you could get sent home early and not get as many hours.’

“They would allow girls to have ultrasounds that were obviously way too far along [the legal limit for having an abortion in Indiana is 13 weeks and six days]. They said, ‘If they want to be seen, you just put them through, no problem,’ just taking advantage to make money.

“I was always getting in trouble for talking too long to the girls, asking if they were sure they wanted to do this.

“It was absolutely miserable going in there.”

Q. What experiences stick with you?
A. “One young girl came in with her mom. She was about 16. Her mom had made the appointment. That’s not supposed to be how it works. It’s supposed to only be the patient who makes the appointment. I checked her in, and she thought she was there for a prenatal checkup. The mom was pushing it. She blindsided her own daughter.

“This guy brought in a Korean girl. I had no doubt in my mind this girl was a sex slave. This guy would not leave her side. They could barely communicate. He wanted to make all the arrangements.

“During the ultrasound, she told one of the nurses that there were lots of girls in the house, and that the man hits them. She never came back for the abortion. I always wondered what happened to her. One of my co-workers said, ‘You’re better off to just let it go.’

“These girls would start crying on the table, and Dr. [Michael] King [the abortion doctor for whom Anderson worked] would say, ‘Now you chose to be here. Sit still. I don’t have time for this.’

“One doctor, when he was in the POC [products of conception] room, would talk to the aborted baby while looking for all the parts. ‘Come on, little arm, I know you’re here! Now you stop hiding from me!’ It just made me sick to my stomach.

“The sound the suction machine made when it turned on still haunts me.”

Q. Did you ever interact with the sidewalk counselors?
A. “One day I was coming in, and I’d written out a note to one of the [sidewalk counselors] that said, ‘I’ve worked here for a little over two years. I’m actively looking for something else. Please pray for me. I don’t want to be here.’ All I could do was hand it to her. She tried to give me a pamphlet, but I told her no, I had to go because there are cameras that watch the drive.”

Planned Parenthood President Tweets Video Saying Women Need Abortions For Valentine's Day

Townhall.com:
Just when we think Planned Parenthood cannot sink any lower, Cecile Richards, president of the organization, tweeted this Vine purporting to show "what women need" for Valentine's Day:
Yep, that's right. Nestled in between "cancer screenings" (which make up a fraction of Planned Parenthood's services) and "well woman visits," is "safe + legal abortion."

Valentine's Day should be viewed as a celebration of love — not as a day to promote dismembered fetuses. Who's the "radical" one now?

Planned Parenthood Releases 'Twelve Days of Contraception' Christmas Carol

Breitbart.com:

Staff members of the Arizona affiliate of Planned Parenthood are celebrating the season by changing the lyrics of the traditional Christmas carol, “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” to accommodate the abortion industry.

Planned Parenthood Arizona says it "wants to wish everyone happy holidays and a wonderful 2014!" They add, "We hope you will enjoy this original song written by staff and performed by volunteers. And, if you want to know more about the different types of birth control mentioned in the song, visit www.ppaz.org."

Introducing "The Twelve Days of Contraception" or, as Planned Parenthood has named it, "The Twelve Days of Christmas (the contraceptive version)," where your true love will bestow upon you a box of Plan B, condoms, Depo-Provera shots, NuvaRings, birth control pills, dental dams, diaphragms, and other contraceptive goodies:

NBC's Nancy Snyderman: It's 'Pro-Science' to Abort Children With Genetic Defects

Wow, white liberals seriously have no moral compass:
On Friday's NBC Today, chief medical editor Nancy Snyderman explained to viewers that it's just good science to abort an unborn child that may have a genetic disorder, explaining that testing for such conditions, "gives parents a chance to decide whether they're going to continue that pregnancy or not. This is the science of today." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

Snyderman then predicted: "I think the future will be such that you'll find out that your child may have a genetic hit. You can fix that genetic problem, and improve your chance, a child's chance..." When co-host Savannah Guthrie raised ethical questions about aborting children under such circumstances, Snyderman matter-of-factly replied: "Well, I'm pro-science, so I believe that this is a great way to prevent diseases."

Earlier in the discussion, advertising executive Donny Deutsch raised the possibility of parents using the genetic information to abort children based on superficial preferences: "Look, I'm a pro-choice guy, but at the end of the day what's stopping people, "Oh, my son is going to be blonde, I want..."

Snyderman largely dismissed such concerns: "I get the genetic engineering issue. But the reality is we've already jumped out of that with amniocentesis. So, the science is there. The problem is that science goes faster than we have these societal questions. And that's exactly why we should have these societal questions now."

While Snyderman sounded briefly open-minded on the issue, she soon made her "pro-science" declaration and later completely rejected any legal argument against selective abortions.

Attorney Star Jones raised the possibility: "...at what point will the courts step in and say, 'No, this is too late in the gestation process'?" Snyderman asserted: "They won't. They won't. They won't." Jones responded: "Well, we'll see what's happening in the next presidential election." Snyderman insisted: "Not if you can save a life and prevent a disease. You can't make a case for that."

Later on the show, Snyderman suggested Saudi Arabia had a better record on providing equal pay for working women than the United States.

New Video Shows Obama-Supported Planned Parenthood Encouraging Gender-Selective Abortion And Medicaid Fraud

It's no secret to conservatives that the Obama administration and the corrupt, radical and historically racist Planned Parenthood have a profound love for each other--a love that stretches into cronyism, policy and of course, heavy funding and corruption. But who knew it also involved turning a blind eye to gender-selective abortions and medicaid fraud? Well, here's a looksee:
Want to see a real war on women?  Not one defined by the opposition to the imposition of a Hubby State and subsidies, but one in which women of the future are systematically eliminated?  Live Action went undercover last month at a number of abortion clinics across the nation to expose how the abortion industry assists and even encourages gender-selective abortion, a global trend that has eliminated tens of millions of girls before they ever draw breath outside the womb.  The video also shows a Planned Parenthood counselor in Texas explaining to a young mother how to defraud Medicaid:

“This was a multi-state, national investigation demonstrating that this is a widespread problem across our country,” Live Action president Lila Rose told The Daily Caller in an interview Monday.

“First of all, the statistics and studies indicate that we are adding to the growing problem across the world of sex-selective targeting of unborn girls for abortion. We are going to be demonstrating — starting with this video from Texas — that the abortion industry in the United States is aiding and abetting this horrific problem.”

The first in what Live Action says is a series of videotaped incidents exposing American abortion facilities’ willingness to assist in sex-selection abortions took place at a South Austin, Texas Planned Parenthood clinic. In the footage, a Planned Parenthood counselor appears to readily assist and advise a Live Action actor who said she was trying to obtain an abortion if her baby is female.

“In this video, what is astounding is that Rebecca, the Planned Parenthood counselor, starts arranging with the actor about how to get a late-term abortion,” Rose said. “To wait until her pregnancy is so developed that — and using Medicaid for this, using the state to pay for the ultrasound to determine the gender, and then to do a late term abortion if it was a little girl.”

Welcome to the real war on women. This one has real casualties, too. But even if one supports abortion rights for whatever purpose, should taxpayer dollars flow to organizations that offer advice on how to defraud Medicaid?

George Will Quote of the Day!

"This is not about women’s health. This is about providing 300,000 abortions a year. Planned Parenthood cleverly cast this saying, ‘We are in the mammogram business.’ They’re not in the mammogram business — they are in the referral of mammograms. This showed two extraordinary things, George. First, the American left cares about ending wars and they care about poverty and they care about the environment, but they really care about — when they’re not perfunctory — is when you touch abortions. And historians will marvel that American liberalism in the first part of the 21st century is defined as defense of abortion.”

Mitch Daniels To Sign Bill Defunding Planned Parenthood

Not taking away "women's right", just let somebody other than the taxpayers pay for it:
Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels plans to sign a bill that will restrict abortions and make Indiana the first state to cut off all government funding for Planned Parenthood.

The move is likely to beef up his credentials among social conservatives as he considers a 2012 presidential run.

Daniels said Friday that he's supported the abortion restrictions from the outset and the provision added to defund Planned Parenthood didn't change his mind. Daniels says women's health, family planning and other services will remain available.

The move puts at risk $4 million a year in federal family planning grants likely to be cut off because of the bill. The legislation also would ban would abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy unless there's a substantial threat to the woman's life or health.

S.E. Cupp Battles Joy Behar and Jerry Springer Over Defunding Planned Parenthood

Newsbusters.org:
Conservative author S.E. Cupp must have felt like she was getting tag-teamed Wednesday when she opted to go on the "Joy Behar Show" along side Jerry Springer.

The trio debated a number of issues including the Bush tax cuts, but the debate really got heated when the host brought up the Republican desire to defund Planned Parenthood

It really is funny how liberals don't understand the concept of money being fungible.

Taxpayers opposed to federally funded abortions have absolutely no certainty that money supposedly going to Planned Parenthood for procedures other than abortions don't end up directly or indirectly doing exactly what it's not legally allowed to.

Beyond this, many Americans are offended by their tax dollars going to the other services that PP offers including for example birth control. Between Medicaid and the various free clinics all around the country, the poor in this nation have access to all kinds of options without there being a federally-sponsored organization that is also responsible for one abortion every 95 seconds.

Crazy Lawrence O'Donnell Screams At U.S. Congressman Over Planned Parenthood Funding

I've said it before, I just don't get why Republicans even bother with going on any of MSNBC's nighttime news programs. I mean, at 8pm you have a psycho "socialist" with an extreme, leftwing agenda. At 9pm you have a gay woman with an extreme-left wing agenda who repeatedly lies and/or spouts half-truths. And now at 10 you have an all-around psycho and failed liberal radio host. Why waste your time going on either O'Donnell, Maddow or Schultz when you know you're just going to get disrespected, smeared and shouted at? Really, why:
Lawrence O’Donnell has honed his program to be one of the more difficult venues for a right-wing politician to attend, and tonight solidified that reputation. Inviting Georgia Republican Rep. Tom Graves over to discuss the hurdles of the current budget crisis, O’Donnell repeatedly asked Rep. Graves about his opposition to funding Planned Parenthood, before finally dramatically concluding Rep. Graves “should be ashamed of yourself.”

O’Donnell began the interview on a contentious note, asking after a brief introduction whether Rep. Graves was “one of the voices in the meetings with [Speaker] John Boehner shouting ’shut it down, shut it down!’” Rep. Graves, appearing confused, replied that he “didn’t know of anyone shouting” or “recall that at conference meeting,” affirming that the Republicans are “unified.”

O’Donnell then kept the focus of the debate on Planned Parenthood for most of the interview, asking Rep. Graves whether he would vote for a bill that did not completely defund the organization. “If there is wasteful spending, I will not support it,” he replied, though this was not a clear enough answer for O’Donnell. He finally pushed the Congressman to assert that, yes, “Planned Parenthood is absolutely wasteful spending,” and that he “had not intentions of voting to fund Planned Parenthood, and I don’t think the American people want us to fund Planned Parenthood.” Getting this far, O’Donnell made the debate a zero-sum game: “you are willing to stop payment for the troops in order to stop any funding for Planned Parenthood if it comes to that?” he asked.” “You are the only one that can tie Planned Parenthood to defending our nation,” Rep. Graves replied, somewhat surprised.

The point seemed to have agitated both parties significantly, as it triggered a bit of barely-intelligible crosstalk until, above both voices, O’Donnell could be heard telling Rep. Graves he “should be ashamed of himself” and his “insane bill.” Despite the degeneration of the discussion, however, it ended amicably enough, Rep. Graves inviting himself back on the show in the future.

Planned Parenthood Covers Up Rape, Incest

TheHill.com:
Former Congresswoman and anti-abortion rights advocate Marilyn Musgrave (R-Colo.) suggested Planned Parenthood covers up sexual assaults against underage girls during the Conservative Principles Conference in Des Moines on Saturday.

When asked by another advocate in the audience how to best pressure the Senate into defunding Planned Parenthood, Musgrave recalled watching a recent interview with former star NFL linebacker Lawrence Taylor discussing allegations he had sex with an underage prostitute.

"You know what I thought about? Underage prostitutes, runaway girls, girls in crisis. Guess what folks? Planned Parenthood will readily give them birth control. Planned Parenthood will cover up statutory rape, incest, whatever," Musgrave said.

"I think we all need to pause in our daily lives and think about what Planned Parenthood really does. And, you bet, the Senate is a problem right now when we're talking about defunding them."

Rush Limbaugh: “Planned Parenthood, Doing The Job The Klan Could Never Finish”

Of course, anyone with knowledge of Margaret Sanger's true mission with starting PP knows that Rush isn't just blowing smoke here:
Yesterday we brought you the story of the anti-abortion group that set up the lovely billboard in New York with the caption, “The most dangerous place for an African American is in the womb.” Shockingly, the sign has since been taken down. Rush Limbaugh, hearing the story and knowing that there’s an opportunity here to ruffle more feathers than with a thousand “Michelle Obama is fat” jokes put together, jumped into the fray. He began his segment by proclaiming New York “the abortion capital of the world” and then just went from there.

Limbaugh discussed the same NYC Health Department findings that inspired the billboard which showed that blacks had the highest abortion statistics in the city. Then, with the race and abortion pots a’boiling, he added the perfect spice from his Liberal outrage recipe:

“You want to to really stir things up, talk about who owns Planned Parenthood and where are these clinics being put? They’re being put in black neighborhoods. Who’s making money? Who’s profitting? Liberals! Leftists, obviously! Pro-abortion types. And who’s defending them? Someone tries to put a billboard up defending them, they get run out of town by Al Sharpton and the rest. My God, folks, this is, this is…well, this is intolerable…Well, I don’t know if we should go that far. Planned Parenthood, doing the job the Klan could never finish? Is that what you’re thinking?”

Now, I like Rush Limbaugh. The time I would ever agree with a word that came out of his mouth is if he commented on the weather I was geographically nearby. But I still like him. And this is why. Listen to that clip as he laughs right before saying that Klan line. Not only does he laugh, he phrases his perfect quote as if it already were a freaking blog headline! That guy knows exactly what he wants.
