Toni Morrison Supports Barack Obama For President

Brilliant writer/idiot liberal activist Toni Morrison, has sold out the Clinton's and jumped on the Obama bandwagon:

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Nobel laureate Toni Morrison, who once dubbed Bill Clinton the "first black president," endorsed Senator Barack Obama on Monday and not Clinton's wife in the White House race.

The African-American author's announcement came the same day Obama was to receive a public endorsement from veteran Democrat Senator Edward Kennedy and Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of former president John F. Kennedy -- assassinated in 1963.

Saying it was the first time she had issued a public endorsement of a presidential candidate, Morrison wrote in a letter to the Illinois senator that neither his racial background nor his rival Hillary Clinton's gender were decisive factors in her decision.

Morrison said she chose to endorse Obama because it might help attract supporters and "this is one of those singular moments that nations ignore at their peril."

"I will not rehearse the multiple crises facing us, but of one thing I am certain: this opportunity for a national evolution (even revolution) will not come again soon, and I am convinced you are the person to capture it," she wrote.

Guess poor Hillary didn't meet the standards of negative Black stereotypes that Morrison used with Bill some years back.

Hillary Has Her 'Playing Sax On Arsenio' Moment

From Forbes.com:

If Bill Clinton was the "first black president," his wife and Barack Obama are vying to be the second.

Obama, the only black running for the White House, came into a debate Thursday night at predominantly black Howard University with the crowd on his side, chanting his name as all eight Democratic candidates posed for pictures on stage. But Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared to win many of them over in an impassioned performance that addressed their anger over inequality.

"If HIV/AIDS were the leading cause of death of white women between the ages of 25 and 34, there would be an outraged outcry in this country," Clinton said in the biggest applause line of the night, bringing audience members to their feet.

Black voters are a loyal base for Democratic candidates, which was why all the presidential candidates were sure to take part in a debate focused entirely on issues facing the black community. Polls show that blacks are closely divided between Obama and Clinton, with other candidates gathering less support.

Somewhere you just know that Toni Morrison is practicing how she'll brilliantly spin this one.
